Had that before, temporary repair... tip the seat forward to let the cable go slack get a pair of narrow nose pliers on the metal lug pull it up and thread a tie wrap between the two wires to create a loop, cut the excess off the tie wrap and use a file to take the sharp edge off the tie wrap.... Works a treat and passes an MOT
Hi Alan. I have a Focus Convertible and they suffer with the same problem. To try to avoid any breakages I always push the 'seat back' towards the rear of the car before pulling the lever. I find this takes all the tension off the mechanism and the lever pulls without any resistance. Hopefully mine will stay working for a long time to come because the Focus CC ones are unique to that model and aren't bloody cheap! Another great vid, keep up the good work :)

You probably wanna buy official Ford parts rather than the crap they make in China. This video makes it look easy but on the cheap ones from China the cable just won't locate in the handle, and it ends up snapping when trying to get it out.
If i had a pound for how many seat handles ive seen broken on a mk6 fiesta, door pillar trims missing and rear shock covers fallen down id be rich, and holes in rear sill near wheel now there getting order, there nice cars tbh and there only minor things but very good subject to cover since im sure alot of people will wanna try fixing them thereselfs (and yes ive had the fun of replacing the cables too)

Yes it would have been tricky if I'd have not watched this, but as long as you follow what you say, piece of cake. I used a non-genuine handle. Thank you again.
Absolutely love this!!! Color is amazing!! We saw in the reviews that someone said the this color is more brown than grey so we chose this one for that reason. We have a brown truck with brown interior so this looks fantastic. It's so sturdy, so easy to install. Love it!

Very useful, video doesn't do it justice how much of a ballache it is to pry the old one off, if i didnt have light coloured seats I'd have doused it in WD-40 ahah. Would have been harder still if I'd have been guessing my way through it thanks for the help.

Thanks very much for the video, you're the boss! It's a faulty design because the handle's mechanism is too fragile so they had to insert metallic parts where the cable attaches to.
Best video on here by far for showing how to deal with this bloody awful problem. I bought an ebay replacement part for £6.95. After struggling to get the broken part off I watched your video and had another go. Once I located the spring lugs and knew to push down as well as in it worked. Second one was a bit trickier but it clicked free eventually. New part just slotted in first time perfectly. So grateful to you for this excellent video. Thanks again. :-)
@@tomcass240 Cable located first time. Time will tell if the clip lasts or not. It's a fairly straightforward job once you know how to do it so not a big deal.
Popped in your place on Wednesday Alan ( Steve's cars 4 sale) that Ryan is a lovely fella, let me test drive the x3 and the 221000 mile red golf, couldn't believe how nice that drove, they're a real friendly helpful bunch up there ain't they, Ryan didn't try to pressure me at all and I didn't realise you give a 12 month warranty on all cars over 1k in price , popped down the road to say hello to you ( but all your shutters were down ) so left it, very impressed with the used car set up at the car lot.
Tie some rope around the bottom piece's pull the cables up through it untie the rope retie them onto the new ones very gently pull them through easy as pie had to replace the handles about 5 times and one set of the cables in the 18months I had my fiesta a pair of screwdrivers either side of the latch does the job two just prize it out

its the common fault in all Ford Fiesta hatchback , I don't really see in other cars but yeah in Ford Fiesta it is a big issue , unfortunately mine are broken as well
The reviews on amazon are really hit and miss so I didn't chance it and bought genuine replacements. The wider clip is the easiest to budge but the thinner one is a pain in the backside to get to. I used a small hex head screwdriver to get into that side and then pull hard with both disengaged to remove the handles. After doing 2 seats I can definitely see why garages don't want to do this work if they can help it.

Remember there are left and right handed levers when you order a replacment. I have replaced 2 of these, wish i had seen this U tube before i did them. The first one I chewed out as i had no idea how it was fitted. second one much easier as I had seen how it fitted. Excellent Video this one.

I followed this after getting fed up with not being able to tilt passenger side door, old one came off ok, could tilt the seat after pulling the cable up and the new one fit in fine. As soon as I popped the seat back into place from being tilted the nipple on the end falls through the handle and then I'm back to where I was. The seat wont tilt when using the handle. Anyone had this? Does the cable need to be replaced?

Went to Ford Gates in Harlow this to collect some parts , enquired about the price for a seat tilt handle. £57.58 each.

no not cable replacement but you have to pull the seat cover up..its a tricky job but you can do it without removing the seat from the car

You actually managed to use those cheap copies from China? Every time I've used them they've broken on me and the cable fails to locate.

Is fixing a new leaver for the ford Ka the same sort of thing

i would say the plastic part of the cable that secures into the top of the seat is broken and you will need a new cable
