    Your explanation is sooo good! You are a great teacher. You broke the whole process down and made it simple for the students. Thanks very much.

      That makes me so happy that you understood how to swing the beat. So many of my students can feel it and so many can't and need a technical explanation. Thanks for letting me know that I was able to explain it well. Sometimes I wonder if I explain too much and go too far :).

    Hello Katie. Thanks for the lesson. You are a pleasure to watch and learn from with the excellent break down explanation of musical notes and timing. Is your instrument the Gretsch 9121 Acoustic Electric Tenor? How does it sound in just the acoustic mode? Does it still have good volume and response both on the bass and treble?

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for watching, and thank you for taking the time to encourage me. I put so much time and effort into each video, so thank you for validating that the extra time and care matters. I would say that the sound is much brighter than one would expect a tenor to produce. Gretsch ukuleles have very thick necks like guitar necks. If you don't mind having a thicker neck, I think you would be happy with the instrument. It is really pretty and it has kept its action very well. To be perfectly honest, I don't play it anymore because I've been playing Sun Stars, and I've been loving them. They are a very small company and they're local to me. I'll link a couple of unboxing videos so that you can hear what a Sun Star sounds like :). Please let me know if you have any more questions and I hope it helps.

      It sure is. If you're a trained musician, you use it and see them all of the time. If you only read tabs, you probably won't see it very often 😀.

    Is this a music class or a math class?

    • @OneMusicSchool
      @OneMusicSchool  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There is a lot of math in music. If you don't count and just "feel" the music, you lose precision or the ability to play with others in a precise way. You need both counting and feeling. Some people have no idea how to swing the beat because they were just told to "Feel it". Adding the technical aspect of it helps a lot of people put the beat into categories into their minds to understand it more clearly.
