Second time mom here but I gave up on breastfeeding the first time bc I had no idea what I was doing and why it wasn’t working. I definitely plan on sticking to it this time around. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🙏🏻
Hi, I'm due in March. I'm confused- my idea is to pump out milk and put it in bottles so anyone can feed the baby if I'm out and about or I can bottle feed my baby myself in public without pulling my boob out..and breastfeed only at home or whenever possible. But I hear it causes nipple confusion? And my MIL was suggesting against it saying until 6 months atleast you should only give boob and no bottle???
A few things: 1. Thank you for having it all in one video 2. Thank you for actually including all the links 3. Thank you for putting the time and options into this video. I cant imagine how much planning this takes. I am not pregnant (hopefully in time) but I helping prepare for my brother in the research department. Lol. I am such a planner and this video was super informative. I love it!
This list was so comprehensive and helpful. You bet I watch the whole 1+ hour. I am 28 weeks with my first and feel so overwhelmed with all the gadgets... THANK YOU!
Susanna Volnova try not to stress, Mama!! Just remember that technically all baby needs is to be fed, loved, clothed, and a safe space to sleep! And a car seat lol but the rest is extra and fun ☺️ good luck and congratulations!
Susanna Volnova I completely understand! I am right there with you!! I'm so excited, and terrified at the same time 😂🤣. I'm trying to soak up as much info as possible.
@@Emily-nr2xd Same... I bought some clothes... That's it..lol. I don't even know how many sleepers I will need, how often will I change him?!? Do i need newborn or just 0-3? Its so confusing!!!!!! I hear boys need changing more often and I jusrt found out its a baby boy. Hubby and I wil do the crib, furniture, stroller, and car seat in January. Everything else were getting now. Baby is due Feb 22nd. We got this!!!! Just youtube everything lol
This video reminds me when I had my first. With every child you realize how little you actually need. My fourth baby is about to turn one. The best advice I give is things that grow with baby are best.
Getting everything ready for the baby always makes me so overwhelmed :( So excited for my boy to be here tho! Never watched your content before but for some reason I trust you lol
I never shopped off of peoples registries until I had to make my own for my first baby. I spent so much time and research on that list, I was lucky that people did purchase from it and I will ALWAYS gift things from someone’s registry now! I have many duplicates or things that will not be used because for half of the gifts we received, people did not even reference my registry. Also gift receipts are huge!!!! Please include always!
I’m no where close to having children but love these videos. This is probably the most informative video I’ve seen for newborns. This will help so many first time moms!
Thanks for your list and thoughts!! Just a car seat sidenote, as a car seat technician I have 2 US infant car seat recommendations. These are the only 2 US cars with an anti-rebound design and a load leg, they are the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio NIDO $350 Cybex Aton M Sensorsafe $280 I would recommend those 2 above all others, based on crash research, which can be found on youtube 😍 Also, you can put a “lock” on sections on the Babylist so you can put these older baby items on there to keep track but people buy can’t see it 🙌
My baby shower was so frustrating, and I really do feel bad saying that because I'm grateful my daughter had so many people excited for her arrival. I spent weeks carefully researching every single item I put on my registries and I was just so proud of myself for putting it all together. My baby shower came and two people bought something from my registry. Everything else was just random things that people saw (I got six baby books) and some items that our parents would have used but have been shown to actually not be safe. On top of that, one person included a gift receipt. I was left with a lot of things that I ended up not being able to use and I couldn't even figure out where they were purchased from. When I tried to exchange some of the diapers at Target, they were so horrible to me. They acted like I stole cases of diapers because no one included a gift receipt or purchased from the registry.
I had some of this too! People got me great stuff luckily but no one went off of my registry except for some awesome family members who knew how much time I spent on it. :/ I even put it on the invite and asked people to only purchase from there. They still didn't!! Just gotta be grateful for the good intentions and love.
Oh no I’m so sorry to hear this and I feel like it happens a lot people can be so inconsiderate even tho they mean well. I stressed in the invite to only bring registry items and I will again once the date gets closer.
Oh no I'm getting ready to plan a baby shower for myself and I'm a very nitpicky person I also researched all of my items 😖 in my Amazon registry I put on there me and my boyfriend did NOT want musical or talking toys. They could make noise just not the ones where you push a button and it sings and I just know I'm still going to get so many of those 😭
Thank you for these videos, this is my second baby my first is now 4 and I feel like a new mom all over again. I’ve been waiting for this video to finish perfecting my registry. 🥰
I have never commented on any video ever. This one deserves a comment. I'm a 1st time dad trying to figure what I need for my baby girl. Thank you so much for this video! I would have been lost with out this video.
Another sort of tip- I have told people the gender, but did not post it anywhere online. My shower hostesses also made sure the invitations were gender neutral, that way lots of people that are invited don't know which cute kind of clothing to buy. So far it seems to be keeping people to the registry!
I work at the service desk at target and no you can not return any diaper. It doesn't matter if we sell the same brand, count and size. It has to be in the inventory and the dpci/upc must match a target dpci/upc. but yes having the receipt will help.
Wow honestly she covered everything and I loved it because I’m on baby #1 and I kinda needed some ideas on what to get and seeing price ranges but loved this video🙌🏽💛
One other great thing about Babylist: they have an extension add-on that you can use with any site, so if you're on Amazon, Target, Copper Pearl, etc and you see something you like, you click "Add to Babylist" on your Favorites bar, and it will add that item to your baby registry. You can also add in notes about what colors you want, if this is a "must have" item, etc. That extension makes it SO easy to build your registry.
Thank you SOOOOO much for this! Creating a registry has been a bit overwhelming and this is giving me so much peace of mind. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you!!!
If you get the spectre I highly recommend the S1 since it has a battery so you can go cord free and walk around with it. Also, insurance is supposed to cover a breast pump so definitely don’t buy one or put it on your registry until you make sure about that! My insurance covered the breast pump and also 90 bags a month.
I’m super late into this video but I appreciate the fact that you took your time to explain everything and added links and even gave tips for new and existing moms! Your videos on parenting and everything baby related are my favorite!
I can vouch that getting a shopping cart cover is very important. When I was an infant I caught the Rotavirus from licking a grocery cart handle and I was so sick that I ended up puking my own blood. I almost died.
For a playard, I have something very similar to Babideal Blossom II Deluxe Playard in Alexa. Price point starts at $57-64 without shipping, from Walmart! Very easy to put up and take down once you figured it out the first time lol. I leave it in my trunk doesn’t take up hardly any space, and I have a VERY small car! Also it has a bassinet/changing pad feature as well!
This video is everything! I am currently 25 weeks pregnant and baby shower invites are going out soon. This is exactly what I needed to finalize our registry.
That best advices I heard on breastfeeding I struggle with breastfeeding my son when he was little new born he breastfeed from birth to only 3 weeks then start formula feeding him and expressing into bottles but at 5 weeks old he complete on formula I was so shame but hear you say that makes me feel so much better now
We just had our first baby boy, he’s 1month now ☺️ I went back to look through each of your recommendation videos while pregnant and they were sooo awesome!!!
This video is exactly what I need for my first time pregnancy! Thank you so much!!! Could you do one with useful apps, books, courses and hacks please!!! First time mommys need you!!! 🙏🏻❤️🥰
your videos have been so so helpful !! i have been watching all of them and feel like i actually have a clue of what to expect now with a baby on the way. i literally revamped my whole registry after watching this ! thank you ❤️❤️
I LOVED my boppy especially with my first when learning how to breast feed, and its great to help them sit when they are learning and for tummy time. I would wrap a swaddle across the gap too and lay her on it as a newborn. It was my absolute favorite.
I am not usually a fan of very long videos but this video was excellent!! You really went over everything and it was not over explained. I definitely added and changed a few things from my registry based on your recommendations. Thank you!
If you register with Babylist, you can get a bottle sample pack so you don't have to commit to one type. Also, I've gotten 4 different types of bottles from welcome boxes (1 from BuyBuyBaby and 3 from Babylist). This might be better than settling on one set.
I’m so glad you said your daughter didn’t like to be swaddled! Mine didn’t either! At all no matter if it was a blanket or the Velcro one nothing worked! It was halo sleep sacks all the way for us!
You are amazing, this video is by far the most perfect and complete baby essentials! Thank you so much for taking the time to review for us all this amazing products ♥️
Truths in this video! I wish I would have asked to stick to the registry! Part of my family threw a mini baby shower as a suprise- which was so sweet- but they literally did not get me a single thing that was on our registry. Not a single thing. Infact they actually got us stuff that I said I did NOT want or need! And most of it we won’t be able to use- and they didn’t give us the option to return anything 😂 #staygrateful. Love you fam! We’ll get there...
Thank you so much for taking the time and being so dedicated to creating this video. First time mom here and it’s a little early for me to be shopping but this is helping me to get all of my ducks in a row 💕
I really wish I had seen this video when I had my son! I just found your channel and this video was suggested to me. I definitely didn’t do my registry right! This is so helpful.
I have never committed on a TH-cam video I’ve ever seen (ten years at least) but you are my FAVORITE mommy video vlogger I actually don’t like many of them but I love your videos and thank you so much for this video didn’t think I was going to watch the whole thing but loved every bit of information you gave 💖💖💖
I never bought the gene diaper thing we just got the munchkin bags where we would put it in there and then throw it away in our trash bin outside our home since we live at home. My favorite go-to diaper bag is by LeSportsac where I can use it as a diaper bag, travel bag for my boy and as his beach bag. The mom bag I use for when I go out and need to put some of his things in like diaper and change of clothes in case needed is Calvin Klein backpack I found in medium size. Have the Nuna Mixx stroller and Nuna rava after being done with the nuna pipa car seat, love love love it. My boy actually didn't like any pacifier or sleeper what he did like was being swaddled in aden and anesis so when he got older we were just wrapping it around his waist with his arms out and legs are not swaddled. Now I swaddle it around his waist and then put the rest of the hanging fabric in between his legs and up to his chin so he can suck on the blanket. He loves it and it is breathable so I feel safe for him to have it with him in bed especially since he is now 18 months and 4 weeks, almost 19 months. I can't believe time is flying by already. Surprisingly at home, he didn't take to pack n play but when we travel he sleeps there in a pac n play aside from taking his naps and sleeping through the night. Gerber ready to feed formula was our go-to formula and he did well on it after having issues with Enfamil. Thought I would chime in and share some of my favorites with you and your subscribers for baby stuff that can also grow with your child as they get into the toddler stage. The bottles by dr. brown is awesome. I transitioned him into 360 munchkin cup and then he just didn't care for it and went for take and toss straw cup with thermoflask that comes with a straw you fold down to close when we are on the go.
I also learned in a mommy class that some babies really don’t like swaddling depending if the baby like their hands up or below on the sides, so it really depends and you should only swaddled for up to 2 months and like she said buy 2 if your baby likes it, just go with what your baby prefers
Thank you so much for doing this! Starting a registry for the first time is completely overwhelming!! This video was so helpful as a starting point and thank you for linking everything. This is the best registry video I’ve seen so thank you so much for putting in all the effort for the rest of us!!
I actually recommend the Graco Day2Dream Pack n play instead of the one you said. I find the diaper changer on those tend to lean a lot. The Day2Dream comes with a stand for the diaper changer and the bassinet. So you can move around the house with it, and not have the baby on the floor (I have a big dog so I want my baby up at my level and not within licking distance 😂) Plus the bassinet lays flat AND has a three level incline, so for those babies with acid reflux, or when the baby is awake and you want to shower, cook, eat ect you can have them near and they can see you. The bassinet has mesh sides, the vibration, sounds, and look light. It also can be placed on the floor as a rocker, if you’d like. I use just the bassinet and stand by my bed at night, since I live full time in a fifth wheel and don’t have room for the whole pack n play next to me. Also once my baby transitions full time to the pack n play, I can still use the diaper changer on the stand, without it bothering me on the actual pack n play. The stand even comes with storage underneath so it’s a perfect travel “changing station” and I absolutely LOVE it!! Highly recommend! 🙌🏼
I'm only a few minutes in, but I have to comment that my daughter literally NEEDS her Boppy pillow. She got a cold her first week home from the hospital and had congestion. She also has been having some digestion issues and keeping food down. We had to put her in the Boppy because she couldn't breathe if we put her flat on her back, even the pediatrician said to prop her slightly at night for sleeping (not in the Boppy). After she eats, we have to keep her upright for at least 20 to 30 minutes to let her food settle and the Boppy keeps her upright without us having to hold her the entire time. It makes me so much less worried about her aspirating. Now, I do agree it's not perfect. I'm short, so the nursing part didn't really work ideally for me because it put her up a little too high. The Boppy is so essential that my husband made a 30 minute round trip twice to retrieve it when it was forgotten at Grandmother's and I made an hour round trip to retrieve from Grandfather's once. We're buying at least one more to leave with Grandmother so we don't have to risk forgetting again. To be clear, always use with supervision, etc., and everyone absolutely is different and has different needs, but, for our family, Boppy is LIFE.
You made this video just in time for me ! 👏🏼😌 thank you!! This is my 3rd baby and I know it’s a lot of trial and error with them. I’ll definitely be putting some of these in my registry ! xoxo
Omg thank you thank you thank you this was the walk thru of registry that I needed 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🥰🥰🥰 I was able to go thru Amazon and complete my list. I definitely didn’t put everything or even the same brands but I loved that you explained why you chose the things you did so I could make decisions
Such a great video! Having my second baby girl in just a few weeks. Also by the way the startle reflex lasts till they’re around four months old. My daughter definitely benefited from being swaddled. I waited a couple months as I didn’t want to swaddle her and it was so hard as she would wake herself up so much and she and I barely slept! 😢Once we started swaddling it was a game changer! But I know it doesn’t always work for every baby.
I’m pregnant with my first and stumbled across your videos. They’re very helpful. Thank you! I had a question. Are both the Baby Shusher and the Hatch Sound Machine recommended? Are both really necessary or will one serve the purpose of both? Thanks for any insight you can provide! :)
Definitely recommend for a travel cot/play yard the nuna cove 🙌🏻...or the sena aire both are amazing quality and the newborn bassinet napper attachment that comes with the cove is THE BEST...nuna makes the most amazing products
I definitely say to register for everything you'll want/need in the first 12 months. However, definitely agree to hold off on some things if they are not bought and gifted to you.
This video is great! Thank you for the effort & research. I watched the whole thing lol. I literally went through my registries as I watched. Took a couple things off & added a few. Thanks!!! 😃
Hi Madison! I can’t believe Ryleigh is 9 months old already!!!! Babylist is amazing!!! I used it and I absolutely loved it! Everything was so easy for me and for family and friends to buy everything and get them to me. I have been sharing these videos to two of my girlfriends that are pregnant and they have been very helpful. Thank you for putting this together. Very well done and organized ❤️
I just returned diapers without a receipt today at target. Maybe it depends on the store/manager? Also, I have a nine month old and I’m still here watching this video 😂 I’d love to see 3-6 month must haves, 6-9 month must haves, etc.
I would love to know what you think of baby nail trimming. Have you heard of the Nail Snail? It is brand new and the easiest way to trim tiny nails. Julia
I am pregnant with our 4th boy right now and I swear we have had everything but our current favs is the Evenflo Xpand stroller. The base literally slides to be longer to make a double and use that matching carseat but I do love our Nuna infant seat and convertible carseat. The Spectra pumps are the best, I used Medela for a while but had supply issues (I also have breast implants) but the spectra got double the amount even more so then the Hospital Medela pump we also have. For a baby carrier we love the Madame Googoo brand!! Honestly if I had a girl I would be spending $$$$$ on them since they are so cute! We have a Dragon one, Seahawks, Giraffe and some others but they are completely custom if you want. Anything pattern, size, straps, go wild. I also have a mesh one because my kids sweat like crazy and I love carrying them. I also have a swimming edition ring sling and baby carrier (not actual swimming but standing in the pool or whatever, keep it safe y'all haha. My kids love Dr. Brown's bottles and I used the slowest flow possible since I was also breastfeeding. Loved the custom MAM pacifiers. We also used a baby scale because I was scared about how much I was nursing so I would be exactly how much they got while nursing. Also all my kids when born and for the first 2 months would get nasty rashes from the chemicals in diaper, wipes or diaper cream. Makes it hard to heal a rash when you can use anything but the best diaper rash treatment IMHO is the Lanolin Nipple cream. All my friends and family love it now and swear by it. Also baking soda bath worked great too and made their skin smooth and healed any eczema they had in 2 or 3 baths. Those magnetic jammies are great if that is too pricey at least the jammies that zip open from the bottom.
Love your recommendations. Diapers and bottles are definitely a trial and error. My son got horrible rashes with the Pampers. And he refused any type of bottle at 3 months so, exclusively breastfed. We have so many bottles that have never been used.
One piece of advice: I love babylist but some people get confused with how it works. We used babylist and included items from target but people went to target searching for our Target registry and couldn’t find it since it didn’t exist on Target.com. We had to make a separate Target registry so people could have an easier time finding things.
Fantastic video. Very help for FTMs. It is long but totally worth it. I have most of those items. Thank you for doing this video. I subscribed just bc of this video. Thank you Madison.
I hope that if I ever have children this video will still be up. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you for such a helpful and extensively educating video on baby things. 😊 I hope you do other videos like this one on different stages and situations (day care, toddlers, school, trips...) 😉
Hi I’m pregnant with baby #1 and this video was so helpful! I’ve literally watched it three separate times and subscribed from it! I was wondering if you could link the spectra adapter for the Tommee tippee storage bags please!
tips for pumping (esp exclusively pumping) from an exclusive pumper:

Thank you for the tips I have been having trouble with a recent decrease in milk supply will try to incorporate this into my routine
Excellent Tips

I use the baby Bjorn baby carrier it's so easy to use and provides great back support as well it's a great middle of the road price as well!
great list just not for on budget moms this is more like vip moms but thank you💜
Never watched an hour long video on TH-cam! I loved it!!! I'm scheduled for c section next Wednesday! Thank you so much for these kinds of videos!!💜

I love love love how thorough and honest you are. By far the best newborn essentials video I’ve seen yet.
Thank you for making this. This was very helpful in putting together my baby registry.
I’m super late into this video but I appreciate the fact that you took your time to explain everything and added links and even gave tips for new and existing moms! Your videos on parenting and everything baby related are my favorite!
The Spectra S1 (the blue one) -- it's the exact same as the S2 and it's completely cordless all the time; no adapter needed!!
Just saw that! Omg I wish I knew that when I got the s2 😂
Can you do an tutorial on your makeup look! I love your eyeshadow!!!
I can vouch that getting a shopping cart cover is very important. When I was an infant I caught the Rotavirus from licking a grocery cart handle and I was so sick that I ended up puking my own blood. I almost died.
Love this ! It’s got basically everything... I’m just going to buy everything on her list thanks!
All my kids are in elementary school and I am still watching your little family grow. Riley is so adorable. I love her big eyes and her smile.
You can return any brand to Walmart and they exchange them! Which is so wonderful ♥️
An hour and 17 minutes of baby stuff talk 😍😍
That best advices I heard on breastfeeding I struggle with breastfeeding my son when he was little new born he breastfeed from birth to only 3 weeks then start formula feeding him and expressing into bottles but at 5 weeks old he complete on formula I was so shame but hear you say that makes me feel so much better now
What a great help! Thank you so much for sharing ❤
Yeeees
your videos have been so so helpful !! i have been watching all of them and feel like i actually have a clue of what to expect now with a baby on the way. i literally revamped my whole registry after watching this ! thank you ❤️❤️
I’m 6 weeks and can’t stop watching these videos lol. Love this
I’m a postpartum nurse and hopeful mom. I like your recommendations
I bought the same graco pack and play I’m due in June and love the idea of having the removable bassinet rocker
i’ve been adding things to my registry throughout watching this video. love it.
As far as bottles go. Babylist actually sells a bottle sampler pack for 30 dollars, it comes with several of the most popular bottles for baby to try.
You have no idea how much I appreciate this video!
I really wish I had seen this video when I had my son! I just found your channel and this video was suggested to me. I definitely didn’t do my registry right! This is so helpful.
This was so helpful!! Thanks for making this very detailed video I appreciate it! 🙏🏽🙌🏽 life saver
WOW this is amazing!! Thank you sooo much for this video. i was clueless with what to add on my registry.
We don't have baby registry or something similar in my country.. but I'm doing a wishlist for my baby boy coming in November!
what is your eye shadow color? i love your eye makeup .. BEAUTiFFUL!!!
So you can move around the house with it, and not have the baby on the floor (I have a big dog so I want my baby up at my level and not within licking distance 😂)
Plus the bassinet lays flat AND has a three level incline, so for those babies with acid reflux, or when the baby is awake and you want to shower, cook, eat ect you can have them near and they can see you.
Thank you!!! I’m expecting baby #1 and I was all over the place figuring out what to get. awesome video!!
This video is INCREDIBLY helpful! Currently 19 weeks with my first baby and I’m totally lost😂
I keep having to pause this video to put more stuff on my registry. Baby #1 for me this was extremely helpful!!
Thanks so much for the comprehensive list and explanations!
Obsessed with your make up ! Need a brow tutorial!!
Definitely recommend for a travel cot/play yard the nuna cove 🙌🏻...or the sena aire both are amazing quality and the newborn bassinet napper attachment that comes with the cove is THE BEST...nuna makes the most amazing products
Off topic, but your makeup is beautiful!!! I'd die of happiness know see a tutorial for your look!
Also, I have a nine month old and I’m still here watching this video 😂
I’d love to see 3-6 month must haves, 6-9 month must haves, etc.
Its great that you are helping parents to do this madison
What a terrific video that I will definitely share with my beautiful daughter in-law who is excepting in February 2020 thank you! 💯😘😍🥰
I bought the 4 moms play yard because with my first the graco was a pain in the butt I just got a mini crib mattress for the bottom for bed time
Fantastic video. Very help for FTMs. It is long but totally worth it. I have most of those items. Thank you for doing this video. I subscribed just bc of this video. Thank you Madison.
I have been watching these vidios becouse i have a reborn so it helps me know what i need bacouse i love to role play with her
Great video! You gave us a lot of items ideas! Thanks!
Curious where you are from as you say "Pellow" instead of pillow
I hope that if I ever have children this video will still be up. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Thank you for such a helpful and extensively educating video on baby things. 😊 I hope you do other videos like this one on different stages and situations (day care, toddlers, school, trips...) 😉
This was so helpful! Baby #1 is due in Jan! So are is the boppy lounger necessary if you have the pillow?
Hi I’m pregnant with baby #1 and this video was so helpful! I’ve literally watched it three separate times and subscribed from it! I was wondering if you could link the spectra adapter for the Tommee tippee storage bags please!
This was the most helpful newborn must haves . Thank you!
I’m due next week I have everything but it’s still nice to have some things to think about
