I would give anything to live there.i have lived in a Chabad neighborhood , but not New York. A family member davened by Satmar. I cried when I saw this. My life just went in another direction. I'm shomer Mitzvah but not in a community. I would move in a New York minute if it was doable. Thank you, Frieda. 😢😢😢😢😢

Ya know, the biggest thing I noticed, and you mentioned of course is all of the kids outside and playing. It appeared most parents were not outside with them.
I live right outside The City in the suburbs, so this was my normal
growing up( Although grew up also going to all parts of the City(Born in Queens), my whole life too), but I do not think I’ve ever seen this many City kids playing outside as free as we did like this.
I’m assuming everyone is basically looking out for each others kids. Down the blocks or around the corner, a parent could find the other parents kid if they needed too, lol. Just be home when it gets dark ;)
It’s such a wonderful and free feeling. I wish every kid, especially City kids could all have that experience 💞

For me the afternoon before Shabbat was always a nightmare. My mother would send me to the store to get this and that for Shabbat than she would send me back four or five times more while my friends were playing outside. Than those old ladies in the store who were overwhelmed and nervous about the Shabbat preparation would try to cut the line when they saw that it's a little boy in front of them.
    Anyway Good Shabbos to everyone.
