- Gari needed a bath because he had something crusted to his nose. Gari is a Teddy Guinea Pig. Giving Guinea Pigs a bath isn't difficult, but you want to make sure they are comfortable as you would want to be. Make sure the water is not too hot or too cold. Keep water from going in their noses. Never put them in deeper than they can stand!

He is so well behaved, first time i tried giving one of my boys a bath i thought my deep bathtub (with an inch of water ofc) would be good idea. Turns out piggies can jump very high if need be, caught him mid air though. Lol, never again.
Lol I had to give mine a bum bath(vets orders) and the whole time she fought me giving me a look like I was crazy! I imagine she was thinking oh god human has finally snapped and is going to drown my bum!🤣
Always make sure the room is warm, Esp no drafts! You need to shut the door (unless it's ninty degrees in the desert.) And hurry up and get it done so they don't stay wet for longer than needed.

I make a towel "pocket" at first to use the surrounding warm air to keep them warm then ruffle the fur with the warm pocket.

How old can you start bathing your baby? I just got mine and honestly I never knew I could love her so much! I just want to do everything right. Bb is such a good birdie dad. Gari was such a good boy! The shoe box is a good idea. I'd use towels too so they'd have the extra texture under their paws to feel safer. Thanks to what I've learned from you my little sweet pea is turning into a diva lol
I've given many piggy baths also, but do not have long arms to hold them up like you do. I bathe mine in the bathroom sink, often just a bum bath. My piggies are very squirmy-nothing like Gari. he was so patient and never cried. Mine holler! Of course, mine are girls. How are your foster girls doing??

My piggies are calm during bath time for the most part. My abyssinian enjoys being blow dried lol. She just lays on her belly while I blow dry her fur.

You're running a LOT of water, bro. This is cali and we try to conserve water. Lol.
I worked for the department of agriculture in California until 2018.
Residential water use in California only accounts for 2-5% off all water used.
If you really want to make a difference, don't buy food. Agriculture uses ~80% off all water, followed by industrial/manufacturing. Residential is a very negligent amount of water waste.

we have a parakeet that loves to get into the pigs cage. when he gets in he goes right to the hay and starts feeding it to the piggies. they love it. now the piggies chirp and the bird is starting to week. lol.

I would have dried the ears with the towel or a qtip. You don't want moisure left in the ears. But over all Gari looks happy and it was a good experience for a first bath.
Vets will tell you water in their ears is not nearly as dangerous as using q-tips.

Not gunna lie when you left him to get BB I freaked out. Was super scared he’d slip and go in water! Also I think that might have been boar glue. Maybe he got it when he was eating his poop? Lol when you kissed BB in front of him he just looked on like wtf!
They can swim, no danger. Plus it was only 2 inch deep water... They are animals not glass chandeliers! Relax!
Scott, what's the best thing to get boar glue off fleece? I did my fleece wash yesterday with a mild detergent and distilled vinegar, and I noticed some remanace of boar glue still staied!
