- It's bath time for my three girls! Just like with nail trimming, giving my guinea pigs baths stresses me out. I can't help but be nervous! As guinea parents, we have to make sure their cage is sanitary and observe regular grooming so that the piggies will stay clean for a longer time. After all, bath time should be kept to a minimum. Guinea pigs should only be bathed when needed. Do you have any tips to make bath time easier? Let us know in the comments~

For some reason Tofu just holds a special place in my heart, love her!
I bathe my guinea pigs once a month. I don't use a blow dryer. I just dry them with a towel. Then I put then on the floor and I let them shake it off. Their always so fluffy cute afterwards eventhough they have short fur

Some of ours absolutely hate bath time (eg one always tries to leap up into my neck!) whereas others just let it happen. It's always interesting to watch other people to see how they manage as this can be a tricky task! Tofu is a real cutie and love her name! :)

Tofu is ADORABLE!! She seemed to love her bath, they're all so PRECIOUS! I'm heading over to your shop for pea flakes, and btw, your liners are THE best, just the most hygienic and at the same time softest liners, nice to wash on cold water, which is GREAT, an a low dryer, another plus, and then I air dry and I'm done, I get clean and wonderfully soft liners, with that pocket, what more can a piggy or piggy owner want? Thank you so much, and also for all your videos, I'm a lifelong customer for sure!

So cute!!! I tried to give my Dolly a butt bath and she was not having it. It was traumatic for both of us. I just got a boy, so I will try to get him used to bathing.

I never had problems bathing/showering only one piggy. They still recognize each other. They just become curious at the different smell and do extra grooming to get the washed piggy back to the group smell.
At leats that's what it looks like.

I have 3 long haired guinea pigs (rescue from shelter so I'm not sure the mix. I think peruvian/abyssinian). They get haircuts, especially around their bums about once a month. How often should I bathe them? I do feel they get stinkier than short hair pigs I've had in the past

Could you use dog shampoo? I have dogs, (that I will keep separate from the guinea pigs) and if I don’t have to buy another type of shampoo, that would be nice. If I don’t have to bathe them very often I don’t wanna have to buy a new shampoo for them.

Don't start bathing them too much!! I'm not sure about flea treatment but there should be creams or something that can help

Someone please tell me that this is a good routine !!! First I give them a pea flake. Then bowl of pellets (or a cucumber peace! I don't know! What's best?) For dinner he would get half a carrot, a peace of pepper and a little more cucumber! (And maybe 1 salad peace if you know what I mean, but should I take away some food and give them salad instead? Pls help) And that's it (they'll have hay and water too of course! This is a routine for 1 gunnies pig! (I haven't had sea / him yet)

They use it to groom their selves

Pardon me, but does anyone know what to do if your guinea pigs keep peeing in their pellets?
Morgiana 123 you’d probably have to train them not to but you can always ring up a local vet or pet shop an they can give more professional advice
If you have time you should hand feed your guinea pigs but should probaly think about training
They (usually) pee in a place where they feel safe, which is often times a dark place or a corner. Maybe create a space that's more appealing for them to hide and do their business instead of in their nuggets!
Can I use dove to wash my guineas since its a gentle soap or no?
Nope. It has to be small animal shampoo. Even those gentle soap can be too harsh for the guinea pigs.

I use baby shampoo. Is that ok?
It's generally not recommended to shampoo guinea pigs with human baby shampoo or any other human grooming products. Guinea pigs have delicate skin that is sensitive to many chemicals and ingredients found in human products, including shampoos. Using the wrong shampoo could cause skin irritation, dryness, or other health issues for your guinea pig.
