    We know you all know how to put a bell tent up, but do you know how to put it away? Hopefully this helps you pack it away, so it's perfect the next time you use it.

    a little tip, use kitchen towel to wipe the groundsheet over after each fold and during rolling will help to ensure that you dont pack moisture with the tent. It also helps to keep everything clean.

    Any tips on getting grass, moss, flies and other debris off the tent while trying to pack it up? No matter how much I tried to clear away debris, more stuff would fly onto it and get stuck making it near impossible to clear 😭

      Are you letting it dry before cleaning? We’ve always used either towels (and then wash them) or a broom to clean our groundsheets.. Letting it dry first does make it easier.. You got this..

    Hi Alan, I'm just about to buy my second bell tent and after reading one of the guides on the site I'm buying it from, it says however you pack it away...we all agree it should not be folded and put away as over time this will cause creases in the fabric and weak spots will develop. Has this been your experience? thanks

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Julie Baxter thanks for your comment. I’m not sure how you would pack it away without folding it somewhere! Our tents are all folded this way, they’re used repeatedly throughout the summer and dry stored like this through the winter. At no point have I ever seen any obvious issues due to them being folded. Do they suggest packing it away very differently?

    • @juliebaxter6940
      @juliebaxter6940 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Baylily Bell Tents no it’s on the Bell Tent Boutique website. It’s actually says whether you like to stuff it in the bag or roll... we all agree not to fold which is exactly how I did mine last week. Again I’m unsure how you couldn’t?! 😂 quick Q I hope you don’t mind. I’ve got a 5m Polycotton which I love. How much longer to dry is full cotton canvas and are there considerable differences in light in the morning?

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ha ha, well stuffing has to be worse than folding! Not much longer at all... As long as you have the space to put it up and the weather is good, it doesn't take too long to dry at all. As for light in the mornings. I've never slept in a polycotton bell tent, but have slept in lots of different tents and all are way too light in the morning! I just prefer the more relaxing ones like our blue bell tents. I did see that decathlon had blackout tents on a side note..

    great tents but a real pain to get them dry before storing away,not really for folk without a garden for drying,and even then, after a busy camping weekend having to set it up to dry when you get home, is a must to prevent horrible black spots forming,not a tent for the lazy glamper

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree. It is a palaver indeed. We've spent many a day, putting all of our tents back up to dry them! We have seen private owners unzip them and hang them over stairs, chairs etc. We've also heard of people using bouncy castle blowers to dry them out... Saying all of this, they are amazing and well worth the effort we think..

    • @paddypete1
      @paddypete1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BaylilyBellTents like i say,there's nothing better to camp in than a canvas tent,however you need to put the effort in if you want to last you for many years

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true... The same is of most things. But with you totally, humping around a 30kg to 40kg tent takes effort indeed to keep it look ship shape... Feel free to come and help us dry ours when we're drying a 25 tent village.. 😉😂

      Amona Lysa We only really cover bell tents and they start at 3 metres which would be big enough for 4 people. Sorry, but smaller tents isn’t our thing, but we’ll keep this in mind.. 🤗💚
