    Thanks for a very concise and methodical video ; with evplainations of "why" ... !
    I've viewed many y/t videos on , the correct way to pitch a bell tent.
    Usually they flop the tent down, then beginning @ a door corner; they stake one corner and proceed in a circular manner staking each point 7ntil they arrive back at the door.
    Often just pegging the loop where it lays, with little thought given to tensioning it.
    The base , walls and roof get all funky and wrinkled.
    Only so - so on the guy lines ...
    Then they blame the tent when the wind takes it down.
    Thankyou for an excellent presentation on how and why you take the steps you do along with the logic behind it ... !

    Great video, thank you. Have you recorded a 6m put up video also? Or is it pretty much exactly the same principle as above? Any differences apart from it being slightly harder? Thank you

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey @Mark Lennox, no we haven't.. Interestingly we are recording a 7m this week if that could help! However, the principal is exactly the same, just slightly bigger and heavier.. Do be aware if its wet on set up [unlikely granted] as it then becomes very heavy..

    • @marklennox176
      @marklennox176 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BaylilyBellTents ok perfect, thank you. And yes I'll look out for the 7m put up. I can do the 6m solo and actually followed your advice for the 5m - it's just the central pole which takes a bit more effort as it seems to create a vacuum when dragging it to the middle and up. Anyway, your 7m will give some good tips I'm sure.

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it really does create a vacuum... You can either 'waft' the door a bit to let some air in or I find pushing the pole vertical as soon as it's in place and you can really helps. One hand up as high as possible pushing vertical and one hand as low as possible pulling the bottom into place.. Thank you so much for watching our videos... 😊

    Great video! Thank you!
    I had a question about the tent pegs.There's a loop on the outside of the groundsheet that the tent peg is threaded through before the peg is staked into the ground. What's the function of that loop for the tie-down, and is it necessary to attach it to the tent peg? I ask because we're going to be using lag bolts to drill into playa and won't have those thing pegs with us. I can run additional cord between that loop and a carabiner on the lag bolt, but I'm wondering if that's necessary? Thanks!

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey…
      Great question… The loop is not structural or integral, so you could leave it out on your system.
      It’s job is to relive pressure on zips and keep the sides looking neat and tidy…
      Good luck and keep us posted..

    • @BaylilyBellTents
      @BaylilyBellTents  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Danielle, we'd say a minimum 1m each side. So, you could get it in a 7m wide garden... You can shorten the guys if needed and we've seen guy supports in the forums that also help with smaller spaces... Hope this helps and thanks for watching..

    • @BaylilyBellTents

      Hi Chris, sorry for the delay in replying... So yes, dont lay it out for any period of time if raining as the rain will go through he canvas, as the canvas is touching the floor... The only way to put one up when it's raining, is to do it quickly.. Just go for it and get that centre pole up as quickly as possible, so the canvas doesn't touch the floor.. Good luck..

      In theory yes... You'd want the sand as flat as a possible and then you'd need to make sure the pegs stayed in! You could either try double pegs crossed over in each placement, longer pefgs or look to get some sand specific pegs..

    • @BigAl2918
