I really would love to see a wolverine in this steel. I recently got the mt lion and absolutely love this knife but it is a little large for where I live.
@tvouMatthewBall I honestly just wipe down really well after use. I use wd40 and wipe down with a cloth everytime km done using it after few days just try and keep it dry as you can it lasts forever
It would be nice to know when and where they will be available. Although CPM Magnacut is my most favored steel as of now for its toughness, stainless, and edge-holding ability, I would love to see how this steel compares. I did pick up one of the Kodiaks in SK-85 and am impressed with the design.
The next batch of Kodiaknis expected january 2023 Magnacut looks great but I’m not sure I would use it in large hard use knives. I would definitely want to do some testing before that
@@renexwing1546 actually yes, as long as it is properly heat treated for example go checkout AaronJohnsonKnives he has made a competition chopper for bladesports out of magnacut and it is one badass blade that I'd love to own and swing!
Hello Neighbor, Got any more batches planned in K329? I'm Alaskan and this design is very impressive, so it makes sense to buy one for all my backpacking/hunting needs. I have a hunt planned on Kodiak here this year, I would like to take a Kodiak to Kodiak. thank you much, keep up the amazing work friend!
@@auroraborealisknives4019 very tempted, K329 seems to be a bit better steel, however, I can get around the corrosion issues with a forcedpatina. And now I have just learned about the mountain man so hard to choose!
Nice improvement but SK85 is no slouch. I really enjoy my Kodiak and have no problem with the SK85 but I may look at your other designs and will look for improved steel.
I completely agree, Bob. I have a "2nd Production Run" SK-85 Kodiak that I've beaten like a redheaded stepchild. Man, that thing hasn't once winced or whimpered. 😮
I just got one of the sk85 delivered to my house, make me want one of these steels now lol just glad to have one finally. Will you be trying this new steel with the next batch of Wolverines?
i think your kodiak and the bark river bravo 3 are the only big knives i'd pay money for. The k329 steel looks good. Corrosion resistence is very important to me.

Yes we are definitely going to do. Abatch 👍
The steel took a slight edge at 3:09. The nick in the blade is about halfway up, and an inch or so passed the nail. Marvellous edge retention.
Looks awesome! Performed even better than I thought it would.
Damn it man!!! Love it great job Alex!!!
Fantastic review and the k329 is one of my favorites I have really been blown away by the k steels
hello, I just got mine first knife with k329, how to you care after it?
@tvouMatthewBall I honestly just wipe down really well after use. I use wd40 and wipe down with a cloth everytime km done using it after few days just try and keep it dry as you can it lasts forever
@tvouMatthewBall mostly wipe it down and oil it once in a while
👍
@@HeavySetTactical409 cool thank you
That’s very impressive!
Awesome testing dude, 😎👍👍
Thanks 👍
That is very interesting indeed!
Wow man awesome testing and an awesome blade! That steel seems phenomenal 👏
Thank you Ben 👍
Man, this is impressing ‼️
Love it, love it👍👍👍 I must have it.
Most impressive...
Love it! And love that steel! Maybe the Mountain Man in K329? Love my Sk85 Kodiak so would like to try this steel on your new knife.
I think Vic Lin is doing the first run of Mountain Man in SK85
We can look at K329 in the future 👍

I agree that SK85 works great. I just wanted to add an option for people who wanted a stell that is a bit more atain resistant

Godly!
Holes? @5:06 it sure looks to me like all it did was chipped off some paint but never did actually penetrate. 🤷♂️🤦♂️
Look again
It seems a very interesting survival/camping knife! What are its specs and its price?
Blade about 9.75 inches thickness about 0.25 inches
Price to be determined
ETA january 2021
Will be sold on the Worktuff gear website
How does this compare to the A6Max? Thanks
K329 is semi stainless with high toughness and pretty good edge retention
I'm in! When is Vic gonna' have these?
January 2023
@@auroraborealisknives4019 Thanks for the heads-up, Alex. I think you and Victor hooked me again. I'll definitely be on the look-out for 'em. 👍
Is it possible to grind the convex edge into a full flat grind edge?
(Sorry for my bad english)
You could resharpen the exge to a v edge if you prefer
For me the convex works better

We are looking at a Wolverine with another steel but it’s probably in a while
Serious testing. Wow!
Do you have plans for more steel types for the wolverine?
Absolutely but ETA is unkown at this point
@@auroraborealisknives4019 thanks for the reply. I’ll keep a look out.
awesome!
what hardness did you take this knife to?
what final edge angle did you use?
Thanks
Tested HRC was 59
Edge is convex
Mother of god. You’re just asking for it to break. And here i thought I did abusive test with dead logs
Before I sell something with my logo on it I like to know that it is good to go
👍🙏👏
Awesome, just show the edges and blade a second or two longer when showing lack of damage, please. Seeing is believing!
👍
Incredible testing..........made me cringe!
