Its a big bastad made for having fun and beating the shit out of stuff.. deflections are going to happen man especially with something that big it's just life.. make sure you take Ryan's advice because if anybody knows anything that guy does and if he doesn't his mother does I think he lives with her so just ask her
I hope WTG comes out with a No Choil version this summer. Until then I'm sitting on the sidelines holding my money. I love to swing big choppas, but yes, I carry smaller fixed blades for the feather sticks and fire making.
I like finger choils on my knives with blades from 7 1/2" ish to 10 1/2" ish. I've never used that knife, so you could be right. I do have a custom Tops Armageddon made by Leo Espinoza. He convex ground the whole blade. I made the handle scales with natural canvas micarta. They are not shaped like traditional Armageddon scales. The knife has a finger choil and I like having a choil on it. Although the Armageddon is not as burley or as much of a "moose" as the Mt. Man. Maybe that is the difference.
Yes the glancing big knife is definitely a big deal. Seeing your own tendons in your arm moving is not fun. Just my experience lol. I find knives with too rounded/too much swell on the handle can be notorious for it. Sometimes having a bit of flat helps index the blade much better.
I noticed that when I resharpened my WTG’s pretty Convexed edge to a V-Grind, it stopped glancing off things as much...and it started biting in better...
We will try and comment again as not much of a fan of that choil either....Maybe they will come out with one without da choil.....Nice big beast....Good stuff....
i actually don't know what the point of a knife like this is. I agree that there are diminishing returns when it comes to the size of a knife and i think this knife already exceeds that point. The kodiak is about as big as I'd want. This knife is so big and heavy, it's the same weight as a 19" axe...and an axe that size can be used with 2 hands.

😂👍 thanks brother
No it's too high, wrong dimensions that is why it glances due to center of gravity. Bad design
Keep swinging it well Brudda!
Will do! 😂👍

🙌🏻 I knew it lol. It just makes sense. Thank you. I couldn’t agree more
👍Great beast of a knife. I'm totally with you on the finger choil issue 👌😊
Thank you
That Blade is a Beast. 💯
It really is
I love that blade and want one real bad. Love all my WTG knives, but agree on the finger choil. I don't like them on big choppers.
Awesome. And thank you

A blade fit for a 40k Space Marine 😎
I’ve always thought this or the Kodiak would be really nice
They both are sweet. Except you know my opinion on choils lol

@@dlrmon1 I can see that too.
Yeah. I’ve noticed that too. And yes lol. Thats terrifying to me lol.
This is a beast mode knife! Dude I love WTG knives. They make em right!👊💪
Super beast
You could dremmel the back of the grip so it fits your hand better and leave the choil intact
It wasn’t my knife. So I couldn’t modify
Beast of a knife!
It really is
Hell yea my brotha
I knew that vise was going to get it one day...lol
Lol
I'm keen to get a work tough knife
We will try and comment again as not much of a fan of that choil either....Maybe they will come out with one without da choil.....Nice big beast....Good stuff....
Fingers crossed! Lol
I agree with the choil but a little sharpening choil is good.
Agree. It’s the finger choil I don’t like
I need
That's a monster...... that's exactly what she said 😂
Lol
Lol that thing must really be a handful if even you are talking about diminishing returns.
Lol. Right
I knew it would happen, lower the edge angle it'll glance less, u should of compared it to svord bowie
If it was mine I would. But makes sense

It’s definitely not an edc knife lol
I disagree a finger choil means you could use the one knife and get buy I like the fact that it becomes a 1 knife solution in a survival situation
@@oakzy3647 agree to disagree. I know people like them. Just not for me
Comparison to El Chete?
Like a video?
Pretty sure the Kodiak performed better.
It did
Im not a fan of the choil also
Same makes no sense
