Over the years Y. Begun has brought back alumni soloists or groups for a performance here and there. These men didn't all sing together as boys in the choir, they're from all the different generations of MBC brought together for this concert. This is an all-time MBC classic and the original performance of this song was recently posted on their channel. Great stuff as usual!

Btw, one of the singers in this video, Zalman Pollack, who was a soloist for MBC in the 90's, is now a professional wedding singer, and has a few original singles out. You can search his name on TH-cam Zalman Pollack. He doesn't have the greatest voice now, but he sings really well!

I remember being at this concert and being towards the front (one of my best friends was in the choir and his siblings didn't want to go, so I went with his family) and the crowd reaction to this was insane. The energy of the crowd pumped up a lot when they came out.
Also, they updated some of the harmonies and arrangements on this song from how it had been performed since it's release in 1999 (On the album Stand Up).

I love what you're doing on your channel! Watched all of the videos yesterday and loved your commentary on them! It's always enjoyable to see people of different cultures enjoy the music that I grew up with and still love to this day!
I know you have a ton of songs being suggested to you and there's not enough time in the day to get to all of them, but when you get a chance, I think you should check out Simcha Leiner. His song Ribono is requested by many brides when they walk down the aisle at their weddings.

Yeah, this performance was during the Miami 36 concert in 2013. The alumni vary from all the years between 1977 - 2008. (The Yavoh album you've reacted to 3 songs from, Yerushalayim, Galei, and Yavoh)
Yoshi doesn't look too different as it's only been 3 - 5 years since he left the choir, as compared to people from the earlier years so they weren't all in together. Dovid was IN this performance as part of the current choir so he wasn't on stage here. If more content gets released from this performance, I highly recommend checking it out

@@PortuguesePai Just want to tip my hat (yarmulka) to you. One reason that your reviews are getting such a nice embrace is because so often, Orthodox Jews or Jews in general are portrayed in the media as different in a negative way..... So to see someone genuinely appreciate aspects of our culture, helps people feel good about themselves and their own culture. Additionally at a time when we see hate being directed our way, seeing someone like you reacting so positively and genuinely really gives a lot of hope...... It's not all negativity out there, There are many wonderful people like yourself who recognize the good in everyone.

Translation: "Behold how good and how pleasant it is when brothers sit together" (Psalm 133). There are many different tunes with these words. That's true of of quite a few classic passages from traditional Jewish texts. During prayers in school my teacher would ask us each day which of about six tunes we wanted to sing the hymn "Adon Olam" to (including an MBC one).

    Happy to translate yet again:
Henai Ma Tov means Here's What's Good.
The song talks about how lovely it is when all jews, who call each other brothers, come and sit together. The song is all about brotherhood and unity so it makes sense that they wouldn't do as much solos as they used to do and tend to do small groups.

    • @freespeech100

Please forgive me for being a little crusty, but I don't know why Begun inserts himself into these pieces. MBC is a show choir for the most part, and show choir conductors don't sing with or conduct the singers on stage during performances; it is expected that the singers can do their thing from start to finish (ht: glee). Now if it was a regular choir on risers, that would be another thing.
