I think the unorthodox operating mechanism is due to the fact that its a shared design with their cordless, 3.6v lion battery operated model T50DCD, and the advantages gained from the low output power consumption while using the finite energy system of battery.

The extra weight of the stapler is a big advantage in that it reduces bounce. lightweight staplers require you to press down with your other hand to get full penetration.
My black and red Craftsman will fire whenever trigger is pulled, sometimes 3 at a time. It doesn't drive consistently. Guess I'm saying I kinda hate it, but it's probably 20+ years old.
I can’t figure out a way to message you, but I’ve been looking everywhere for just an image of the inside of my same staple gun (except mine is 2018) and this is the closest thing I’ve found. The inside of this one is somewhat different and I’m just trying to see what it should look like so I can put it back together. I guess I’m wondering if there’s any chance you could think of a way to help me..? Haha arrow representatives are fuckin dicks ha and I honestly can’t afford to have someone fix it, but I just need to see where things should go! So just a shot in the dark 🤷🏼♀️
