I love him so much. So humble and so great of a person and musician. I'd love to see him in person singing. God bless you and keep you in His loving care in the name of Jesus Amen
Dear Chris, if you are reading this, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your music , best times of my life spent listening to your songs, it feels that you have written all these lyrics for my situations, I've enjoyed them all as well as crying hard and drying my eyes with them. There She Goes for instance , been in love with a woman for more than 2 decades when she is living all these years with somebody else, Last Drink which is pretty much story of my single malts every night.,Mention Of Your Name everytime somebody randomly asking me about her and of course And You My Love, Your Warm and Tender Love, I used to sing the Winter Song for her when she was complaining of cold weather in North America and at the end When Her Love Turned To Lies.Oh Chris, you have no idea mate. I wish you a long lasting life so you can create more great music.Take care.
It is crazy that I just "discovered" Chris Rea in the last year considering his tenure in the industry. Of course I have heard Fool (if You Think It's Over) numerous times but I never knew the artist. The song "On the Beach" enlightened me to this amazing artist and I started digging into his discography. Hell, I've been missing out on all of this great music for years! Chris Rea, you are an incredible songwriter and guitarist. I have you on my smooth jazz playlist, and you are one of the few that I have on it with vocals. Love your stuff and will keep on playing it.
The title cut "On The Beach" is the one for me..... 30yrs ago I was hurting deeply from the recent death of my father. I was headed ironically to the beach on a road trip with friends and this cut came on. Somehow it suspended the pain and questioning and got me lost in Chris's soothing voice and the haunting questioning guitar....still takes me to that place when I hear it now. Thank you Mr. Rhea.
I love Chris Rea! When my son was a tiny baby, he used to get fussy in the afternoon. I would hold him and dance to this music to try and soothe him. My son will be 29 come November. Great memories.
Chris Rea you are an amazing talent, a lovely voice, and a very creative force. Thank you for sharing your music. Best of luck and love to you and your family. Sue W from southern New Jersey always thinks of you on the beach! 😎🎶💕🏖💃🏼🌻
Amazing true artist. I discovered him on MTV EUROPE with Auberge and The Road to hell videos and then my mom bought all of his albums and we loved them all. 💙
Great! As always! And I just LOVE these interviews! I love to hear what Chris tells us, and I love listening to Our Chris talking - not only singing! What he gives us, and has given us over the years, is such a blessing.:-)
Olá Chris vc.é Fantástico não sabia que vc existia estou muito feliz descobri um Músico Incrível , Grande Poeta.Seu Dom seu Talento vêm do Divino de Deus. Obrigada. Vida Longa Chris Rea
Chris you made macaroni cheese at a mutual friend’s place above Winterschladens in Stokesley back in the 1960’s it was my first taste of the dish. I was gobsmacked years later to see how successful you have become. Love your music, it reminds me of my youth in and around North Yorkshire. P.S. My 94 year old mam says she remembers very well your grandad selling his ice cream from a cart at weekends in Stokesley.
A truly superb album, very dreamy....the songs are written like poems....I would have liked to hear what he had in mind when he wrote the track Light of Hope.
I am little person in austria , i see you in Salzburg. You was bevore in my heart you are more in my anderstanding, that you are one of the best gitarist what i see. Take care of you and your Familie. Realy from heart.
Chris, if you are ever in Connecticut or New York City area, come look me up. I invite you to Seaside Park to listen to your songs about the beach and the sea. Seaside Park is in Bridgeport, Connecticut. I think you will truly appreciate those songs while sitting at the shore and looking out over the water. I listen to your songs there nearly everyday, all year round(I sit in my car facing the water when it rains or snows or it is too cold to sit outside). Weather permitting, I also listen to your songs under the stars and moon at Seaside Park. I have a few beers whenever I listen to music at the beach. I'll bring a few extra for you should you ever decide to take me up on the offer. As a hardcore beach bum, I love all your songs about the beach, the sea and summer. BTW, my friends call me "The King of the Beach". Did you write that song about me(LOL)? I will give you one of my T-shirts with that written on the back should we ever meet. P.S. I made and posted on TH-cam 3 music videos using your songs. I hope they meet your approval.

Dear CHRIS !!! SZÉP NAPOKAT CHRIS! (I am hungaryan man, Hungary, Budpest, I don't speak English) 50 éve hallgatom a zenédet és egyre jobban tetszik. Tele torokkal énekelte a nótádat a templomból kifelé jövet !!!
I think he messed it up a little bit as this album was from 1986 while the punk era was already dead and gone (started around 1976/77/78 when Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler began and they had used this small window opportunity to win the Europe and the world, unfortunately Chris had missed that time back then
You hit the nail on the head Mac J. As Chris Rea stated in various interviews over the years that he hated record producers and he didn't particularly like the show Biz side of the music industry. I think if it wasn't for this kind of attitude (which he had particularly at the peak of his music career) Chris would have been so much bigger - But that's exactly he wanted it seems and one can understand that fact particularly if you have a family and value your privacy. I still feel in my opinion that this was a terrible shame as Chris Rea had such a unique singing voice and musical style.
@@clocktower7 indeed, he was a bit like JJ Cale. Funny enough my fav Mark Knopfler has always had the same attitude towards show biz and being famous but he was a bit stronger in terms of what he wanted, he had this endurance. That's why he's always recorded only what he wanted to record and just after his band's debut album he became a legend: a guitar hero and amazing songwriter
@@ekstradycja Again, you are so right when you compare Chris Rea and Mark knopfler together who both have a similar musical style. I think we can both agree on the fact that Chris sold himself short a little at the height of his fame.
Great song 🙌🏻
I admire your timeless music!
You are best of the best Chris!
Great Chris, I Always loved your music, and on the beach Is One of my favorite album!!! 👏👏👏
