I’ve set mine up exactly as you described in your first video and have been doing it ever since, for me, it was a game changer, because I broke my back eight years ago and haven’t been able to squat but now I can squat again. This is the best tip, I’ve ever gotten off of TH-cam when it comes to weight training, nice job, and love your channel!
Great set-up and thanks for sharing. Instead of a chain attachment, I have been using a sewn tape sling that I prussik onto the barbell weight collar and attach to the belay loop in a climbing harness. The prussik won’t slide and the sewn loop is good for 5,000 pounds. Just relieves you of the need for a secondary collar.
just tried this today and the mind muscle connection was fantastic. Felt great to get back into squatting recovering from a knee issue. Thanks for this mate
Tip for commercial gyms: do belt squats using foot plates/steps on the assisted dip/pull-up machine. Usually a good width for squatting. Can hold dip handles for stability. And allows for easy superset with chin-ups.
I just put barbell on spotter arms on both ends. Saves time a little. This exercise is very good if you have lower back pain and still want to do squats
Used this system a ton, by far the best if you don't have a proper belt squat. I also find it superior to other versions made with jammer arms and generally speaking very short levers
Wow wow wow. A stunning piece of information. Easy and basically no equipment needed. I will use this immediately today and in the future. Thanks brother
YOU DID A WONDERFUL JOB!!!!! ONE QUESTION: IN YOUR OLDEST VIDEO YOU POSITIONED THE BARBELL IN A DECLINED WAY, WITH A HIGHER SIDE, HERE THE BAR IS EXACTLY PARALLEL TO THE FLOOR, WHICH POSITION IS BEST IN YOUR OPINION? THANK YOU
Amazing alternative! I’m a boxer who is now getting in too building serious strength and power and have and I’ve felt on squats how much pressure on my shoulders I don’t need and with all the compression in the low back I think it now needed. Thinking I’ll just train core and low back with reverse hypers and general core stability work. I’m sure I can get super strong hips with belt squats and hip thrust and weight pull ups and bench press for the upper body. Thanks for share this!👍
Your old belt squat video was the first video I found of yours but at that time did not have the right equipment to do this variation. I wish more gyms had Hip Belt Squat machines instead of Leg Presses.
Awesome idea, i was trying to think up a way to belt squat because i have a dip belt but no belt squat machine at my gym. How does this compare in terms of weight to a back squat? The only problem i see is that I might need to load up 5-6 plates and there’s not much space left on the bar or it might push the clips off at that weight.
Loading potential is higher than other methods however the loading potential is not unlimited. if you could figure out a way to add bands or chains it would allows our to squeeze out some extra poundage
Curious if you ever get any knee shear with this? I've been doing one using the Henny strap which allows me to go straight down and other end floats back and forth feels more natural however I like having a spotter arm to hold on to at times.
nice idea a reload of old video I try the other day this set up, dint feel right n eat a bit of the plastic of the pin feel much better do the 3 chair set up, similar to this th-cam.com/video/8LVALXoKc0E/w-d-xo.html

That's also a good idea. Great for lower back pain

I agree that use like a 3 foot lever a and they still have to start from the floor. Worst of both worlds.
@@TheStrengthClassroom short Lever also requires a ton of extra weight that's a pain to load up
Use the t-bar row set up for belt squats. Easy peasy.
Watch my other video and you will see why that method has some limitations
Wow wow wow. A stunning piece of information. Easy and basically no equipment needed. I will use this immediately today and in the future.

No problem Waldo!
Thank you very much for this smart belt squat solution! Going to try it out in the next days!
I'm a smart guy what can I say

Whichever pulls you forward less. I prefer for it to be somewhat parallel now.
Thanks so much!! I did it exactly how you did it and it has worked wonders for my leg development.
Glad to hear it!!
This freaking awesome 👌 Subscribed!
Thanks my friend

Thank you for making this sir!💪
No problem let me know how it goes!
I modified putting the land mine attachment as pivot on the desire height
Nice!!
Been doing this ever since i saw the original video. This and the diy loadable kettlebell are 2 of my favorites 💪💪
Thanks! Glad you like it!
Do you like it better than a normal squat?
@@ronburgandy7571 Its a good change of pace when need a break from having a heavy barbell on your back. But i still back squat most of the time
Your old belt squat video was the first video I found of yours but at that time did not have the right equipment to do this variation. I wish more gyms had Hip Belt Squat machines instead of Leg Presses.
It would actually be a huge step up over leg presses
@@TheStrengthClassroom yes absolutely no spine pressure and really helps with proper squat form.
Gonna try these ASAP. THANK YOU.💪💪💪
No problem let me know how it goes!
Old timers will know this from your old videos 😏
Yep decided to make another one with better lighting
By adding the safety arm to hold on to, you basically made it into a Hatfield Squat that's loaded at the waist? Seems good.
Thats a perfect way to put it!!!

I have never had a problem with knee pain during this.
Awesome!
No problem Reggie glad you enjoyed it!
thanks
No problem!
it works, but in a gym with bumpers I can only get about 190lb on there.
Ah that sucks. Your gym only has bumpers?
@@TheStrengthClassroom yeah, crossfit gym. Its next to my house and i have no car. best of a bad situation.
@@dessertstorm7476 Are there any CrossFit hotties there? I don't know if it's the anavar or what, but CrossFit makes a lot of babes look incredible.
Awesome
Thank you
Bro, this is legit!
Thanks bro!
@@TheStrengthClassroom You bet!

I do not like standing boxes. It is a pain to get into position once the weight gets heavy enough
