  • Monty Python's Michael Palin and Terry Jones perform their "Hendon" sketch on Comedians Do It On Stage, a 1986 Channel 4 special (British TV) charity show in aid of the Oncology Club Fund. Followed by "Paranoid Society" sketch by the whole cast. I had this clip on an old VHS tape. I couldn't see it elsewhere on TH-cam, so I put it up so Python fans could enjoy it.

With both Terry and Graham in Heaven, it's suddenly a much sillier place. No need for Spike to be lonely any more.

Dennis Moore I gave you a vote up for the joke, but of course if the Christians are right both of them are in Hell, where I would expect to meet them myself, along with Mark Twain, Carl Sagan, Steven Hawking and a host of other far more interesting, intelligent and decent people than will ever be found in heaven.

When I see these two together, or any of the six in question, it’s not about Monty Python. It’s about the friendship they shared in real life. That’s what makes the comedy so good. That’s what makes any entertainment team as good as Python was, no matter the medium. It’s a bond. Nuffsed.

This was originally written for The Frost Report in 1967, where it was done by John Cleese (the interesting man) and Ronnie Corbett (the man from Hendon). Then it showed up in The Two Ronnies in the 70s, this time with Ronnie Corbett as the interesting man and Ronnie Barker as the man from Hendon.

I'm offended. I was born in Hendon in the 50s and it was very exciting. Your chances of being caught by Teddy Boys and being thrown down a pit were very high, and you had to cry really loud before they would give in and let you go home for tea..............
In the Wesh Harp, which most people call Brent Reservoir, there were fish (some say they were pike and some say catfish) which would pull ducks underwater and swallow them.
