    Make sure to check for parasites as it’s very common for them to come imported with them.
    You’ll also want your sand to be at least 4-5 inches deep
    I wouldn’t recommend for beginners only bc they often have a difficult time adjusting to captivity

      would a 20 gallon long tank be to big for these little guys? I'm not a beginner keeper but recently discovered these cuties. Will be doing a to more research!

      I am 12 and plan to be a herpetologist and leopard geckos only need a 20 gallon long, make sure one side has a heat pad and the other doesn’t with hides on top of each side.

      They also need reptile calcium dish in their tank, if you don’t feel like dusting crickets, make sure that the calcium they have inside the tank is without D3 so they do not overdose

    That enclosure is way too small. The surface should be at least as large as the table that vivarium is standing on.

      As we mentioned in the video, he was in this small tank temporarily while we buffed him with food, as he came in underweight. It is easier for them to find food and better for us to monitor his growth in a smaller terrarium.

      Sorry, this tank is not a 10G high. An exo terra 12x12x18 is the high model. This is the 12x12x12. All of the exo terra "low" models are 12" in height.

      Agreed. I think 1 needs a 10 gal long. The reason why the tank is so small for this skink is because of his situation. They needed to monitor the feeding of the skink because it was underweight.

    Do I have to worry about uneven/bumpy/not smooth pieces of wood; if a sandfish swam under and rubbed against the wrong part would it get hurt?
    Should I put the insects (such as dubia) in a bowl or let them free?

  • @blackosprey2219

    They're really tempting, but I already have a kenyan sand boa. One derpy desert critter that I almost never see because they're always buried seems like enough for now.

    About how many of these guys can I keep in a 45 gallon long tank?

    • @piscespet1
      @piscespet1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If it's a low or breeder style tank with more floor space 4-5 would be a good number, if its a standard 45 2-3 would be more suitable. When co-habbing them you'll want to be sure you only have 1 male in the group and that they're all a similar size as to not run into aggression issues
