I love leachies because they are so big but still calm and they look like dinos especially their eyes. When you said their bite is so powerful and they will shake their head the tegu was just so innocent it was so cute.!!!!!
How to save money on the encloser: 1. build it yourself. 2. Get light fixtures at hardware stores instead of pet stores. (make sure to get the right bulbs and to get sturdy enough fixtures for basking lamps) ... that's about it really.

Totally agree about Argentine black & white tegus - best lizard ever! Mine thinks he’s a dog - if I hold him like a baby on my chest, and scratch his head, he lifts up, pants, and wiggles his front feet! They’re intelligent and can be trained to use a kitty litter box if you want to let them roam free in the house; they’re big enough that you don’t lose them. They can also be trained to come to a dog clicker so you can take him for walks in the park. Plus they’re very social and like people… there are TH-cam videos about that. We take him to shows at the library and schools because he doesn’t mind being held, doesn’t run away if I put him down on a table or the ground, just enjoys the company, even curious kids; great for educating the public about herps. We’ve had beardies, geckos, ackie monitor, chameleons - and this is my favorite (ok, the ackie is my 2nd favorite.) BEST REPTILE EVER.

I definitely want a tegu. But not until I have the space for one. I'm crazy, not stupid lol. Right now I live in a studio apartment with two roommates but we all just went in together on some land and will soon be putting our savings into building a four bedroom house. After we get moved and settled in, I plan to build a custom enclosure for it, but let it mostly free roam (supervised) whenever we are home.

I've been watching this channel for a few years now and after this video came out my heart has been absolutely set on keeping one (a goal not yet achieved.) When I first saw it in the thumbnail, I thought "That is the most lizard ever," and it is just everything I've ever wanted in a lizard.
this was a well thought out video, i love the enthusiasm and it definitely would grab younger viewers attention. the ONLY thing i would change is i wish youd go over parameters more, like tank size, basking temps, humidity, diets rather than just generalizing like “oh this needs an extremely high basking temp!” which is really vague and a matter of opinion, and i know itd make the video longer. but what im getting at is that you do have a younger audience that possibly wont do their research and potentially give their animals bad homes. regardless, im subbing because i enjoy your content
