My husband has had a 40 year career in educational technology starting with the first Apples. My daughter is now going into the field. Love that there are young women now in a field were there were once few!
I used this for the first time in my class today as we turned our classroom into a restaurant and invited the other teachers and administrators to come. It was the easiest way to chose who would serve the administrators (using the spinner) and to make groups to take turns being the waiters and waiting on someone (I made groups of kids). The kids loved it and there were no complaints about it being unfair or how I never choose them. I'm adding this to my teacher toolbox to keep using! I look forward to watching more from this new series!
Thanks! We just had PD on Flippity which I missed because of an illness. I sent the link to two of my colleagues and they both said your video was way easier to follow. Well done! Keep them coming!
A colleague recommended I see this. If you want particular sets of students working on a Jamboard each, you can set up those groups, and make them visible using flippity, as shown here. Then, manually add your students into the breakout rooms shown in the flippity. Thanks for this great video. Very very high quality work on your channel! Brief, and saves me time!
please, Please, PLEASE make the video tutorial to help organize your Google drive- mine is a mess and barely functional- I would love your tips and tricks to get it organized and ready for the following school year
I love using Flippity! My Tech Integration Coach introduced this to me earlier this year, and my kids loved it. I also love the idea of having a monthly edTech video, such a great idea to share resources.
This is great. Thank you for sharing. I love that you can manually flip names to account for students who are absent. Students are always asking me what group they are in after I give directions, so projecting the groups is a HUGE help. The timer on the same page helps keep me on track also, so I can check in with groups equitably.
I'M SO EXCITED FOR THIS SERIES!!! I'M TAKING NOTES LIKE CRAZY 😍😍 I graduate this Saturday with my Bachelor's in Education and you're videos inspire me everyday!!
Oh my! Thank you soooo much for this.❤️ I am at the moment a student, but I am done with my studies this summer and will start my first teacher job in august. This video and the next videos in this series will definitely be super helpful to me! Even though I am a teacher in Norway and will teach from 8.-10. grade, I really do think this will be a very good tool to use in my own classroom. I have only a couple of overall thoughts to the next videos and those are: 1. Tools that can be useful for a first grade teacher as well as a tenth grade teacher. 2. Tools that are available all over the world, not just the US and Canada. 3. Tools that are not only one subject specific. Again; thank you so much! Looking forward to your next videos.😊
I'm not even finished watching the video (paused it to come say this), but I CANNOT WAIT for this series!!! As a future teacher (starting my B.Ed. in September!!), I so want to use technology in my future classrooms, but I just am not aware of all the options/how to use them! THANK YOU for sharing these tips!!!
Here's the thing, you are my newest hero. I love watching your videos and I think you are amazing. The problem is I'm having such a hard time figuring out where I start. I'm an old teacher who has been teaching for over 3 decades....
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I watched this video and your video on organizing my Google drive. You have saved me sooo much time and frustration! Thanks for sharing!!!!
YES! I knew you were more of a tech teacher and felt you were holding back. Loved the mention of Symbaloo in one of your other videos and were hoping more info like this would surface. Please show me how to organize google drive and ANYTHING else tech related! My only issue now is only once a month 🥺... hmmm can I convince you to do this more frequently??? 😜 Thank you for all you do!!!
Woww.. How is it that I have just stumbled across your channel. You are amazing! Can't stop watching. Learnt so much already. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
Off topic but I did notice a wedding planning folder when you showed us your Google Drive. I hope everything goes well for you and you will be able to have your dream wedding when the day comes!
8:17 you can shift them to show groups when to rotate stations :) so students are never unsure where they should be. For example, students at the pink station move to red station, and if someone was in the bathroom during a switch (or they got to school late, or whatever reason) they can check the board to see where they should be.
I would LOVE a video on how you make your labels and worksheets as well as Symbaloo! You are such an amazing person and teacher! Thank you for constantly sharing such wonderful content! Prayers!!! ✝️
Thanks for this! I usually use the old school equity sticks, but I think students will really like this! Do you have a video on the other features in Flippity?
Awesome video! I love using technology in my classroom and for organization, so I would LOVE to hear more tech ideas! Thank you for always being such an amazing inspiration to us and sharing your incredible ideas/finds! Love you!! ❤️
Hey MIchelle! First off, I just want to say that I have fallen in love with your channel. I am getting ready to wrap up my first full year of teaching ( I started January 2017.) Your channel has truly inspired me in my preparation for next year. I'm so excited to see this EdTech series. I love technology, and I am always looking for ways to bring in more technology. Can we PLEASE get a video of how you make your PowerPoints/ Google Slides?
Awesome video!! I'm glad that you are going after how to use technology in the classroom. This is something I can share with my Edtech friends. Technology in education has changed so much in the last 10 years; back then it a bunch of websites. Now its all about programs like flippity. This brings be back to when I helped my Dad who was an Edtech teacher also and his first website. If you want even more info let me know and I will be happy to give it to you!!
this has been the earlyest I have ever watched a video when it uploaded. I also want to be a PE teacher so this is very handy because I will to make groups.
This was really great. Thank you! Any chance your could create a video that explains the difference between add ons and extensions? It would be great to highlight a few of your favorites.
Thank you for this easy to follow tutorial. One thing I have not been able to figure out is once I create groups, can I then use the spinner feature to pick the groups randomly? TY
Tech videos-great idea! I'm trying to incorporate more & more tech in class now that we're a 1:1 district. Always looking for training & tips on use to learn more. Yes to videos on symbaloo & google drive organization. Thanks!
Thank you for sharing this wonderful video. My Birthday was on April 15th, I am blind and visually impaired high school special Ed student and I had a rough week back to school with Vermont State Testing, and wacky school schedule, this upcoming seek is going to be wacky as week. .
Please make a video on how to organize google drive, how to use google classroom, and how to make resources for my classroom. I can't wait for all the edtech made easy videos. I have been teaching for 17 years and I need a way to make teaching less work for me and more engaging for my students.
This is an awesome tool. I have been binge-watching all of your videos and am overwhelmed but so grateful as well! How can you jigsaw with Flippity? I know you said it's possible, but I don't believe you mentioned how. It's probably very easy! Also, do you have any tips for group work with social distancing/digital learning? We will be in the classroom together but sitting apart and can't move around. There may be a couple students joining us via zoom at home (it's an option )...would love to incorporate some group work and wondered if you had suggestions. Thank you so much!
Your techniques and tips are excellent, thanx! Do you now if it's possible to embed a random name picker into a PPT or Google Slide presentation? And If so, how could I efficiently return to that page for the name picker?
Thanks for these great videos. I would love to see a video on Drive Sharing. How is works and when you might share drives. Many of us have multiple google emails with drives that we may want share info. Would we share info or just move info. For example moving information from personal email/drive to school email/drive.
Thank you for the tutorial! Whenever we get back into the classroom, I plan on incorporating this. Wonder if I could integrate this into my Google Meet sessions during share time. Currently I have them raise their hand but it would be sort of cool for them to see the screen pick their names. Thinking out loud. Thank you again!
Great video!!! ❤️ My time at school right now isn’t great with some people...do you have any tips??? I’d love some tips from a professional teachers point of view and what you would do if ur student told u about something like mine🙂 I want to be a teacher so your videos are so helpful to see what it’s like in a classroom environment❣️❣️❣️ I love you and your channel

Michelle I just move to Maryland from Puerto Rico. I am working as an ESOL teacher and your videos are a life saver !!!! thanks
Love this! I would love a video on symbaloo, and really ANY organization tools, including google drive!
Sames! Thank you for all your amazing videos.
I figured it out. That was bcz of long names. Once the number of letters are reduced, that will be solved
Such a useful tool that will save loads of time in the classroom! Thanks for sharing.
please, Please, PLEASE make the video tutorial to help organize your Google drive- mine is a mess and barely functional- I would love your tips and tricks to get it organized and ready for the following school year
@@staceycox5340 me too!
I watched a few tutorials on Flippity but this was the most practical as to how to begin. You opened up a new world :)
I love using Flippity! My Tech Integration Coach introduced this to me earlier this year, and my kids loved it. I also love the idea of having a monthly edTech video, such a great idea to share resources.

I just discovered this tool by accident from an educator on Twitter! Why do more people not know about this!! Thanks for sharing!
Very helpful - was able to use it immediately thanks to your directions!
Really enjoyed this new vlog. I’m a 7th grade teacher and I’m always on the lookout for new and innovative ways to motivate my kids and myself.
Thank you! I needed to find a random name picker for work meetings and this was perfect!! Great instructions and video

Thank you for this video! I love it so much and how long I look for it and now it is here!!!
Thank you for sharing the technology, which is useful in the classroom.
Came across your channel a couple of days ago and I'm enjoying your videos. Watching from Malaysia
Thank you for sharing the strategy. Flippity is a good way to create groups randomly.
Very quick way to make groups! Thanks!
Thanks for this! I usually use the old school equity sticks, but I think students will really like this! Do you have a video on the other features in Flippity?
I love this. You will be my go to youtuber from now on when I look for a new idea. Cheers.
My only idea for the shifting groups to the right is for stations. Each station is a color and you can move the groups through the stations.
This is amazing! I would love a video for Symbaloo & organizing docs. Love this series!
Keep these EdTech videos coming! I’d like to learn how to better use Google Classroom. Especially how to use it for collecting marks.

I wish we could see the way this is used in practice. Is it used at your desk or with a remote when choosing a student say when your at the carpet
Your techniques and tips are excellent, thanx! Do you now if it's possible to embed a random name picker into a PPT or Google Slide presentation? And If so, how could I efficiently return to that page for the name picker?
Loved this video! Would love to see a video about organizing google drive.

How do you add an audio file to a slide? Thanks!!! You are great!

Hi, I love your shorts tutorials. Excellent!!! One question, Can I add the Flippity to my Google classroom?
Thanks for showing Flippity. Do you have recommendations for document cameras?
A tutorial on Google Drive organization would be so incredibly helpful 💜
Thank you for the tutorial! Whenever we get back into the classroom, I plan on incorporating this. Wonder if I could integrate this into my Google Meet sessions during share time.
