Its a shame ubi wanted to milk the series and instead of seeing desmong becoming a proper master assassin he just dies for the sake of giving a heroic sacrifice
The ac series has some of the best lore for a game series, also with so much potential. Its one of the reasons I love the games. Now with each of em i have my issues i how stuff may work but i get used to it cause they be fun.
I like to pretend that the modern plot doesn’t exist whenever I revisit an AC game… it’s much more fun just being a badass pirate, or an ancient assassin, or an Egyptian warrior avenging his son’s death
I use a machine to control a character in a machine controlling a character. I love this game 😂 While all this parkour and killing is happening I'm controlling a dude taking a nap in a machine
I enjoy the modem plot, i like seeing the results of these events in real time, I truthfully wish we would get a modern ac game just to explore the modern assassin templar dynamics, ik some books have done it and they did it with the first few ac games but since unity there's been no real connection
I always liked Rogue, and I liked the tie in to Unity. I thought it was important to show the opposite side and that not all of them are just mustache twirling villains. The opening sequence of Rogue is one of my favorite.
Rogue is cool. But shays outfit has to be the lamest in the franchise. They should’ve at least made the mask on him all the time not just when a smoke bomb is thrown
Played and completed every AC up to mirage. No idea what the overall story is 😂 never payed attention to the out of animus stuff. I know the vague outlines but that’s it
Odyssey is 1 of the best games i've ever played. It's ubisoft's fault it has assassin's creed in front of it which i was happy to ignore. As a stand alone game its amazing. its a very well made game, great cutscenes, every single side quest is fun and never feels repetitive. Odyssey is receiving so much hate because ubisoft stupidly put assassin's creed in front of it.
If you are confused with the god powers and weapons after origins, just think of them like wieldable apples of eden. They were made by the isu which are also known as the gods. The god realms are simulations or memories of the main characters in odyssey and valhalla.
I don't get it why people people are confused, like we had the Apple of Eden, Ring of Eden, Sword of Eden, Shrouds of Eden, Staff of Eden, in the other games, what's the problem with Odyssey and Valhalla Eden Pieces?
Another W vid, goodness imo assassin's creed needs a slight reboot, keep ac1-revelations almost the same, just improve gameplay, except not having desmond or Lucy die, make ac3 just better, keep ac4 the same storywise, bur improve it gameplay wise etc.
@@kylepeck776 THIS is the bad take lmfao they absolutely do not need to die. Lucy’s death was purely shock factor that never impacted the story and Desmond died for a stupid, STUPID continuation of the story
Lmfao bruh I would LOVE to hear what Final Fantasy games you are talking about, because outside of direct sequels to certain parts…. NONE of them are connected to each other 😂shows how much you actually know
As someone with about 40 minutes on Valhalla and 10 minutes on Origins, I can tell you with absolute certainty that I don't have a fucking clue what I'm doing
I think this video really need to be formatted so that later entries got more time than earlier entries, and some more emphasis should have been placed on certain big reveals so a viewer can tell what/who is/isn't important.
People need to stop shitting on Rogue. Seriously. It's the only game that ever questions if what we've been doing for thousands of years, or for us since 2009, makes us the good guys or the bad guys. Every other game is just blindly following orders. Meanwhile, Rogue is the game that connects Black Flag, AC3, Rogue, and AC Unity together in a seamless story. Rogue explains both Haytham's motivations and Arno's drive to become an Assassin, essentially undoing most of Haytham's work. Rogue is only considered 'bad' because it came out right around arguably the best AC game of all time, Black Flag. People just keep comparing it to Black Flag and it really takes away from the lore and hard work of the AC team.
It's not the only game that does that. Altair questions the creed way before Rogue was in the minds of the devs, read the codex pages. Ezio does it too in Revelations, but subtly. And the first game to present the Templars morally gray instead of plain evil is AC3. Rogue is a solid game, but lore wise it is a complete mistake. Also, it's storytelling is not that good as Rogue defenders pretend to be. It's way better than Unity, Syndicate, Valhalla and Odyssey but it's not that good as people think.
The problem with Rogue is it *didn't* do any of those things. It didn't explain why the assassin's are morally gray, it just made them power-hungry just like the Templars we've been fighting against. If you changed the outfits and a couple dialogues around, the game would play exactly the same as every other one in the franchise. It could have shown why dogmatic principles and borderline zealotry can be turned around to the opposite of the original purpose. Don't show us bad guys doing bad things for bad reasons, the assassins as a group would be more prone to being good guys doing bad things for good reasons. Black Flag even does Rogue's story line better. Edward learns of the creed and latches onto the "everything is permitted" without fully understanding the principles and responsibilities that he has. Also, it was established in AC1 that the assassins are not black and white, it's directly shown that Al Mualim wanted an easy way to end their fight, and turned to the very thing they fought against.
I played the game and walked out of the cinema absolutely clueless. Even after watching this video, I still feel mostly clueless. When I was playing the games I was very young and was fascinated to see Ancient Greek Gods talking to me, while also being in Renaissance Florence or in the 13 Colonies
Please start doing closed captions in your videos, the speed of the dictation and the fact there are so many names and locations makes videos like this almost as hard to follow as the games
I’m sorry but the storytelling in these games is the absolute worst I have ever seen and a testament to just how greedy Ubisoft is to milk this franchise for everything it can offer. I love great narratives and these games are clever and unique but my god, the discrepancies and sudden drops in plot lines is so atrocious and unforgivable. I played up until Unity, and I applaud this video for filling in the details of everything I’ve missed, but it just goes to show that Ubisoft has no idea how to write a good story or what they’re doing narratively with this franchise. I feel like I’m just witnessing a kid play make-believe and after every installment going YES, AND… Which is a shame because the first few games were so captivating in their mystery and plot, but these recent games are just an excuse to sell an assassin game without any depth to its story. Which if you just want that, then cool, enjoy the game for what it is, I’m just so pissed at the wasted potential this series had to create a captivating and interesting story.
As someone who just finished valhalla and is about to play mirage, it frustrates me they didn't do anything about the ending, and probably won't in shadows either
that was awesome man! i got hooked on the series from ac1 to ac black flag, and i got really lost. now that i watched this, i have an idea about when the story turned into a mishmash of nonsense. to be totally honest, i lost track again at the solar flares part. even after watching the video over and over, i can't find anything logical or interesting about the series, so i'll just keep playing black flag for the naval combat, and that's it.
With the recent news about Ubisoft's struggles financially and the potential of going under, I'm now quite worried about the future of my favorite lifetime series...
I truly believe the game should have ended with desmond becoming a master assassin...instead they killed him and I was hoping that with the shroud of eden introduced in syndicate they would bring desmond back knowing that he was in pieces and would being him back with even the smallest part of him and give him ENU powers and take on the modern templars of course they went in the strangest direction. Absolutely destroyed the franchise in my opinion. I hope they shed some light on what happened in mirage cuz the fact that basim came back and pretty much took over and pushed becca and sean aside kinda rubbed me the wrong way.
If the story ends in Mirage (or, chronologically, in Valhalla) i'll personally punch the whole exec board at Ubisoft IN THE FACE Last time we had an AC with a descente modern day plot was AC 3 in 2012, it has been over 10 years since that AND WHEN THEY FINALLY ROUND THAT UP AND PROGRESS THIS LONG FUCKING PLOT FOWARD AND BEYOND. setting interesting concepts (Basim been alive, Desmond and Layla together since she's his Eve as 16 and Juno SAID TO FIND) THEY THROW IT AWAY FOR SOME SAMURAI AND NINJA ASS BS? I swear to God I'd go INSANE
Re-evaluating the entire AC franchise, the modern day has long been a hindrance to the plot of these games. Nothing makes sense, everything is convoluted and casual players won't understand what's going on, then anything that climaxes is written in side media like comics. Either AC Shadows becomes a reset for the modern day (or, so I hear 'future day'), or they need to forget the modern day entirely and let's all just enjoy the specific settings that they build a plot around within their games. Because if they try to continue what we've gotten in the modern day so far, it will sour those scenes further. I cant help but think of things like 'so where is Kassandra in all this'? It really does make any historical setting look ridiculous between the events of Odyssey up to the present day where she dies.
So In modern day, the world is literally falling apart by radiation? And why does Desmond’s soul silhouette sound like that? Also I tune out for a second and now there’s genies in the lore. Huh
I would really appreciate subtitles in this video, nothing against you but you have kind of an accent, and the made up words in the franchise and names, plus the really fast narration, are all culminating in making this video really harder than it should be to consume
So the gods in Asgard are a real in this story and plays a part in it, I thought it was just dlc content. As with that thought how were they're gods if Adam and Eve escaped the main gods before hand. So does that mean they're are multiple gods in the world of AC and plays a part in it?
I'm so hopeful that the Juno stuff from the comics is retconed, cause why the hell would you kill off the central antagonist of the series in a comic of all places and not in a game itself, say maybe without a past plotline and fully immersed in being a modern day Assassin's Creed game in the middle of a giant city
I think Assassin's Creed would've worked the best if it was just about the stories. None of this ma Abstergo, ma animus anus, ma simulazion synchronization ,Otis - Motis with a motive, me bleeding effect, the apple of my grandfather's mother's father's uncle's mother's brother's cousin let's go bowling, none of all this find the artifacts and playing 4D VR crap. Just the stories, just the characters, just the games. I think if they would've started doing just that and left all this other garbage behind, they probably would've done better and with less ridiculous mental gymnastics to bend the plot in whatever way possible just to make it make sense somehow somewhat that you end up being back playing the game. Like seriously, who actually cares about all that other stuff?! We all buy the games for the main characters and the story, the action, but no one buys the games to hopefully see more of some Desmond the Tree Guy or Layla Hassan, the strong independent female alphabet minority representation. You buy the game to see more of Ezio, French revolution, hoping that Napoleon will be in there, Spartans, Greeks, Vikings, Assassins, doing epic parkour runs through old cities, all that fancy stuff and not to learn more about some larping wannabe Indiana Jones nerds and what Mr. Big with his fancy company is up to.
Yes I agree but the first assassins creed game with the Desmond storyline was very intriguing. And Desmond has great main character protagonist vibes. They just didn’t know how to keep it going I guess after the first game smh
Replaying Black flag while watching this and realizing the entire, modern day, abstergo, story was entirely fucking pointless and would've still been a great series by just following the assassin's in history. I literally just "hacked" a super secret templar computer by basically playing frogger. Pointless
I am doing a franchise replay (was laid off from my job), started in late april and have played ac1, ac2, bro, revelations, 3, liberation, 4, freedom cry, rogue and unity up to this point. Currently doing syndicate then next is the 3 chronicles then the rpg games. The later games have fun graphics, the story presence from 1 and 2 is sorely missed by unity. The dlc for origins is some of my fav though
This video is not a complete lore explanation, because you clearly missed Odyssey’s Atlantis DLC modern day & Isu plots (you literally meet Juno there) and the connection of Kassandra to Aya / Amunet. That shows you still don’t understand that AC was always about Isu and their technology, not assassins. Odyssey and it’s DLC is a core lore stuff. Remember, there can be an AC game without Assassins, but a game without Isu is not an AC game at all. Never the other way around.
Calling it now, the franchise ended with mirage; everything I see and hear about shadows sounds like the hot garbage that DEI pushes out. They don’t use the correct banners, the houses look more like the houses in China at the time, and the list goes on. Also, I wanted to play as a Japanese guy and girl duo if it had to be a duo. The original writer said his initial pitch was a Japanese monk, who escapes a European plot to take over the country. But now we got Yasuke who’s not even close to being historically accurate to what is known. Not to mention the Japanese history consultant Ubisoft hired is fascinated by pedophilia that took place in this time period; that’s a major red flag for what kind of people worked on this project.
To be very clear - this is an UPDATE to a past video
I’ve had numerous requests to give an update with Mirage’s story included, so that‘s all this is :)

Exactly
Yes I agree but the first assassins creed game with the Desmond storyline was very intriguing. And Desmond has great main character protagonist vibes. They just didn’t know how to keep it going I guess after the first game smh
1776 um he wasn't accused on that date
Replaying Black flag while watching this and realizing the entire, modern day, abstergo, story was entirely fucking pointless and would've still been a great series by just following the assassin's in history. I literally just "hacked" a super secret templar computer by basically playing frogger. Pointless
as expected, nothing after ac origins is relevant
I still don't understand the ending
WTF i just watched 45 minutes of AC lore but i didnt understood a damn thing and i played every AC game and completed it 100% wth is this?! LOL
What don't you understand lol
@@scarabytI don’t understand how it was so easy for him to lie about 100%ing every game 😂
That is crazy
This video is not a complete lore explanation, because you clearly missed Odyssey’s Atlantis DLC modern day & Isu plots (you literally meet Juno there) and the connection of Kassandra to Aya / Amunet. That shows you still don’t understand that AC was always about Isu and their technology, not assassins. Odyssey and it’s DLC is a core lore stuff.
Remember, there can be an AC game without Assassins, but a game without Isu is not an AC game at all. Never the other way around.
I never get tired of odyssey hate
Uhhhh... What?
Did everything to move the plot
odyssey stan 4 lyfe
I've only played a couple AC games. IMO, abandon the modern day crap and just give me the historical part
Why
BaSIM, not BaZIM
Syndicate is good get taste
Best stealth ever in the whole franchise FR
