      I just wonder how much that stuff cost and how long it took to collect it all. Next time I go, I’ll ask the curator.

    MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED...I saw this Museum when the wife and I were staying in Tombstone for a few days in late January 2023... I suspected it would be a tourist trap and could not have been more mistaken. The artifacts are real and there are A LOT of them. The owner is very personable and knows history. Besides the famous peoples guns and kit noted in the video, there are MANY historically significant guns that I was amazed to see. This is the best Museum of the Old West, its guns, artifacts and historically significant people I have ever seen. The Owner knows you are there to see History and he gladly shows it too you as a fellow appreciator which enriches the experience significantly. I was wowed!... I also really enjoyed the Bird Cage Theater, that place is also packed with the real deal stuff from its time period....The owner even took my picture on my phone for me, holding Clint Eastwoods movie used gun and Harry Callahan badge. I know the famous collector that the owner bought the gun from and this stuff is legit.

    Thanks Dave & of course Jennifer. I like the movie stuff, I prefer the real memorabilia to think some 150’s yrs ago they held, or wore those clothes. That is a big museum amazing. Thanks again

    I grew up in Tombstone. Ironically, I was born in Detroit, but then my parents moved my two sisters and me to “the town too tough to die” in 1969. My grandmother used to own a house on 1st Street and Safford that was built in 1881, and was once owned by the Earp Brothers. BTW, which street corner is this museum located?
    I moved from Tombstone to the Phoenix area in 2003, and haven’t been back down there much since. There are a couple of good museums that closed down in the ‘80s, with the Wells Fargo Museum being my favorite. A friend from high school, Bill Hunley, owns the Bird Cage Theatre. Another friend I went to high school with, Susan Goldstein (and her parents) own both The Longhorn Restaurant and Big Nose Kate’s.
    I hope you had a good time while you were there. Thank you for giving a good recommendation to those who watch your video!

    An outstanding collection Likely the amalgamation of many private collections and brought to Tombstone by one or more persons. A person or persons of means and a connoisseur passion of Western memorabilia that wanted an appropriate place it would be appreciated. Provenance is everything to much of that collect and should be recorded where known. Less it be lost in the passage of time. An old gun without provenance is just an old gun.
    I have a wood worn and rusted through Apache muzzle loader rifle that was found wedged amongst the rocks near Bisbee. Besides brass tacks used to make a pattern it's missing the metal shoulder plate. The plate was often removed to use as a scraper.
    3:39 Earp next to a Packard reminds me of the photos of the widow of Gen. James Longstreet CSA living long enough to work as a Rosie the Riveter on B-29s See Helen Dortch Longstreet's story. A great video.

    Hello Chaps. Lon g time no see. NIce to see Jennifer is back on deck Dave Laddie; I LOVED THIS MUSEUM!!!!!! Now I understand why I am such a History Freak. When visiting the Titanic memorabilia display here in Melbourne, Victoria (Australia) many years ago; they had structured the visits so that only a limited number of people were booked in, in 45 minute blocks. Every 45 minutes, a new stream of people went though and so forth. Not this "Little Black Duck" though. I made my booking so that I got go in early in the morning, and as each bunch went through; I went back to the start line and went through again as I knew the display would never come back to Australia. I was the last one out at 7 PM when the last lot went through. I have been a Titanic Nut since my dear old grandma told me about the ship. She was 6 years old when Titanic sank. My dad was a ships Marine Engineer and he to fanned the flames of my fervour. There was so much to see and so much to read. I can always lose myself in History and mates; I loved your video of this display. Bravo Chaps, and thanks a million.

    14:01 it's funny to see the teguila bottle - in reality Pancho villa didn't drink alcohol, I'm not 100% sure if he was allergic or just didn't drink, that museum is One of the most impressive, in the John Wayne section the guns are copies all of John's guns are in private collections the one with the yellow grips went on auction a few years ago.

    I have a question, Dave. Since you and Jen fell in love with Tombstone, back when you and I worked together, how many times have you two watched movies based on Tombstone? Another question, listening to your video soundtrack, are you two appreciating folk, country and bluegrass music?

    • @Desert.Sky.Adventures
      @Desert.Sky.Adventures  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think we’ve only watched Tombstone once in that time and it was with Shantay before she came down here. As for the music, I can only use open source material. I just try to find something that works well with the video.

    Just drove 3 hrs on our last day of vacation with a goal of touring this museum. Didn’t realize how quiet Tuesday’s are and, despite the website saying this Museum is open everyday, it was closed today. Both info center and reenactors said that the owner can be erratic with his hours. Very frustrating as I had a specific task of looking how Johnny Ringos rig is constructed
