I am moving shortly and was searching homes in Rockwall- it all seemed reasonable, then I looked at crime stats. I was unhappy to read about the very high crime rates in Rockwall- although it explained pricing being so good.

The part of Rowlett that goes to rockwall is the bad part of Rowlett if u know what I mean I know cause I go to school here

Since when does it snow in Dallas? I was thinking about moving from NYC to Dallas to escape the snow.
Except for the snow storm that happened last year it does snow occasionally nothing like how it is in NYC, one year we might not get snow one year we might get 1 inch it’s very minimal

This neighborhood is made up of all different types of houses. “They don’t all look the same” “I know sone people don’t like that”….. ????
What?? Are you telling me that people prefer living in neighborhoods where every house is the same thing? Just a mirror image? That’s what you’re saying, I find that almost impossible to believe.
I don’t care if a house was a million dollars, if every house on the street is exactly the same, according to you, that’s what people want.

Yes I have people complain that some neighborhood homes look very different from each other. Some prefer some type of conformity but to each their own.

I have lived in Rockwall county since 1984.
The area was great.
But now it is horrible.
Traffic in Rockwall is terrible.
Interstate 30 is a parking lot because of numerous wrecks. Ridge Rd and the service roads between 205 and Ridge Rd are a parking lot on the weekends.
Also, try going over the lake on Interstate 30 with all the construction.
With the big population boom comes more crime.
It's definitely not the nice little town that it once was.
I was going back and forth to Rockwall over the past few years. I fell in love with Rockwall. Somehow for a small town/city I felt it had a little bit of everything. I remember reading in Money magazine in a 2019 issue I think, that Rockwall was in the top five towns in the U.S. to raise a family among other things. But yes even in my few years of going back and forth I did notice an increase in traffic. Still I have a special place in my heart for Rockwall.
Is it expensive to live out there, ms?

How diverse is this area? I’m thinking of moving out of California.
We can’t really go into how diverse it is, it’s against our code of ethics. You would have to look at the demographics for Rockwall yourself sorry
I lived there from 2004 to 2010, I moved to there from Cary NC, and left to go to Waxahachie. Needless to say, this is a nostalgic trip for me. I remember Shenanigan's was the rage back then, that and Chuck E Cheese's.
The neighborhood I lived at was Hickory Ridge, there's probably some markings in the Springer Elementary playground where my old friends and I would leave after going to school there.
I was thinking about moving to Cary NC. Did you like Cary NC area or Rockwall Texas area better?
