Honestly, my biggest curiosity is how much longer do they wanna support Destiny and how much longer are we gonna have to deal with the DCV. In terms of support for Destiny I think we’ll get another at least another 10 year era for the main Game(s), with some branching off media such as shows, books, Savathun fleshlights, etc. In terms of the DCV, I think long term it’ll calm down in terms of how much we lose (We’ve already noticed this between Beyond Light and Witch Queen). But, I’m curious how much gets removed once they quit supporting last gen consoles. I believe Lightfall and maybe Year 6 will be the last time they support the PS4 and Xbox One, then with Final Shape we’ll see some type of foundational changes.

I would only want them to continue with it afterwards if they took a year or 2 break to fully revamp the game if they dont get it done before then already. and support for ps4 and xbox one has to end with with lightfall. theyre far too outdated

"Plan for the worst, hope for the best" applies here and with the games industry in general from a consumer standpoint. I have enjoyed playing D2, but there is always a feeling of great missed potential. When we get activities as boring as containment for many seasons, it really dampens the experience. Having played other games that really shell out great content with equal or less resources than Bungie, I am just skeptical about their plans. I have never seen an acquisition go in favor of the players, it just turns into a milking endeavor.

As a Destiny fan, when I heard about the Sony deal I couldn't help but be hopeful that they would be hiring more people and in general expanding the company so that the playerbase could once again start seeing Forsaken size expansions. Luke Smith has said some stuff during interviews that pissed off Destiny players but nothing hurt me personally more than hearing him say that we would never see another Forsaken size expansion. He's gone back on statements he's made before and i thought this would be one of those times.
Well, not so much now after hearing about all the various new games they plan on making and the ventures into moves and tv shows or whatever. I don't want to be pessimistic but...it just doesn't sound hopeful that a lot of these new resources are going to go into making Destiny the monster game it should be. Not a monster as in the amount of money it brings in, but a monster as in one of the best games ever made which yes, i absolutely believe it can become that.

Honestly, I feel some people may be mixed about this, but I feel like Sony may use Destiny as a promotional game. Let’s use Fortnite as an example, when Disney wants to promote Star Wars or Marvel media they use it as a form of promotion, and a way to get some additional cash. I can see Sony, now that they own Bungie, using this method aswell. Let’s say for the new God of War game they add some new cosmetics to Tess, it’s a way for them to get people to talk about Destiny, God of War, and get some extra revenue. And considering they own both companies they’ll probably have very cheap or nonexistent license fees.

Despite destiny 2 always having issues I still ultimately always come back. But I must say I can't see the game surviving more than a year or 2 in its current state. I think its just starting to show its age and it'll only get worse. There's a also a pattern emerging of it implementing mote microtransactions which is never a good thing. Unless they change up this repetitive seasonal content mixed with low effort recycled events the game just isn't going to last long. I've been playing since destiny 1 day 1 and I must say its starting to get really old and I'm debating dropping the game forever. I'm less and less bothered by the lore and new content because it'd like call of duty, they add new content but ultimately its just the same combat loop.

One episode could be about saint 14s travels in the infinite forest, the next episode could be about the hive gods, hell maybe there could be a 2 or 3 episode adaptation or the story of thorn and the last word.
On a different note, the text saying "would you like to work on something comedic with light hearted and whimsical characters?" Gives me a REALLY bad feeling, it might be a neat idea back in 2018 but now its so overdone. Its also difficult to pull off without it becoming a cringefest.

I say this every time it’s brought up. If there were to be a Destiny show, they should take the Black Mirror approach. Each episode/season follows a different storyline of a character or group of characters in the universe, animation would make this a lot easier. Shin Maplhur? Boom, Mando-style space western that follows him hunting down Shadows of Yor. The Iron Lords? We see Saladin’s first resurrection in a post apocalyptic rebuilding of society. The K1 project can be a psychological thriller visualizing the events of the anomaly on the moon. Clovis Bray building his empire, The Whirlwind, Torobatl, Fundament, Praedyth in the VoG. They can do it all with proper runtime in episodes while still keeping the overall story concise.

Destiny lore is huge and expansive but it has holes which make sense due to the collapse and dark age. My big worry is that the people at Sony may just make the show not in line or worse making that is contradictory to the already established lore. I think the best thing they could do is make a new unknown character like the mandalorian, maybe meet some big characters like shax saint 14 maybe even cayde 6 depending on when it takes place. Maybe the main character is a guardian helping people get to the last city, maybe an lightbarer in the dark age. There are so many good stories to choose from.

I'm just going to say it. D2 needs to be sunset after Final Shape. This is nothing against the game, but more so on the engine. Bungie said the original story was going to be 10 years long. By 2024, it will be 10 years of D1 and D2 with that also being on track to have the Final Shape DLC drop that year. We need to upgrade the game after Final Shape. Not just an updated engine, but a new clean engine where they can work out bugs easier. Bungie has done amazing work using a 15+ year old engine in Havoc. But it is pushed to its limit. If we want any graphic or performance updates to hit this game, it will be in D3

Also noted that in the acquisition deal, Bungie gets to retain the right to all decisions made regarding Destiny. People are failing to see why Sony bought Bungie in the first place. The reason Sony bought Bungie was so that they could study live service systems and expand their platform to have more live service games in the future. Destiny is currently one of the biggest live service games to date which is why Sony sought to acquire Bungie. From a business standpoint it would be very foolish for Sony to make Destiny 2 a PS exclusive. The only exclusively I would expect is minor cosmetic rewards like emblems and emotes. Actual playable content such as strikes and exotics will not be exclusive to PlayStation like in the past, as stated by Bungie.

A few years ago while playing fallout shelter on my phone I thought of the idea of what if Bungie made a mobile game similar to fallout shelter but instead of being the overseer of a vault you're the kell of your own house of fallen and you spend the game building up your house within your ketch and on various different locations around the system. Then when you make new bases on those different locations/planets you unlock new activities to play that reward gear that you can equip onto your fallen troops. You could also get fallen bosses from the main destiny game to use in your house and they would all have their own special ability that they use in battles. Another idea was a pvp mode in this game where other players fallen houses could raid your houses territory and steal your loot. I know this probably isn't going to happen but it was something I thought of a few years ago and I just realized that I've never said anything about this idea anywhere on the internet lol.

I think a TV series which goes back to just before the Traveller arrives on Earth would be a starting point and within that they can tell the stories from the lore and take side trips to connecting lore attached to other races involved in Destiny at appropriate chronological points. I think it should focus mainly on Earth to leave room for Bungie scribe's to give each race their own origins in the pursuit of survival in Destiny.
Just like how Horizon TV series is before the fall of the world, Destiny TV series should be similar but with the myriad of threads to do many character stories, they can literally leave some stories to be told differently or have more focus depending on the characters like Shin Malfur and Dredgen Your, or the failed Raid on the Vault of Glass. Even the first occurrence or contact between the Hive and Vex and the thread of the Witness who continues to plot should be there, because nothing happens by chance.
I'm itching to see how Savathun found out the Witness's lie and when she started plotting to get revenge, because Witch Queen definitely revealed she played a hand on rousing the Traveller from is lucid state, her song given to humans caused it to wake up and return to protect the plan it had and Savathun's playing on the Witness hubris got it to get pimp slapped billions of lights years away by the Traveller. The only thing in worried is they'll give too much human emotions to the entities which govern the Universe, the light and dark are rules which keep this Universe going. They aren't exactly the Gardener and Winnower but the vessels they use in their game. I would enjoy watching the point where those two decide to enter the game from time immemorial and see how it started off rather tame and then grew into this chaos.
I enjoy this crazy lore and tend to focus more on the main story as the side threads are numerous as hell. Who is the Witness and why is it so adamant in chasing the Traveller, it doesn't make sense, but I'm pretty sure the Witness is a being of light and over time the Traveller was increasing knowledge so much that the darkness literally got a zealot in the form of the Witness who looks like an entire race in one being to bring about demise, because the Traveller light let's life go beyond the normal range considerably and if left alone it will continue to allow the Gardener idea to flourish unimpeded and based on their nature the Winnower has to prune the weak stuff, the Witness is a corruption of this idea but it still eventually going toward the natural endpoint. Which is the final and first shape. If you ever read the books of sorrow, before the hive came to be a great civilization has already been reduced to nothing, their ships were in the waters of the fundament which the hive princesses tend to go into the waters and look for valuables. So this game had been going on for a long time even before the billion year old cat and mouse game with the Hive which is the main story of Destiny 1. The Revelations about the Witness getting to the hive first has far reaching implications. Though humanity gaining power unlike the Universe had ever seen was something that was caused by a threat that dared bare it's fangs at the Traveller. I hope they will shed some light on the Guardian, because that character is broken as hell and there had to be a reason for it, what is the Traveller planning. Ghosts weren't a last moment decision, these guys gather data from everything they scan, where do they go and why is it they can be "killed" but no real significance outside that Guardian is down to one life now as the only issue. I believe ghosts are a Trojan horse thing, they channel the Traveller power, similar to the egregore being a synapse for communication of darkness. We're not asking the right questions here, just what are ghosts really? Wisps of the Traveller consciousness searching or inspecting, why is the Guardian ghost the "lucky" one? The crazy things it's give through and the power the Guardian had amassed, let's not forget the Gardener originally wanted to see unimpeded progress and I'm thinking an overpowered Guardian that was honed by Darkness to reach the final shape of life. The Gardener represents life, the Winnower is basically the reaper, collects the fruits that the fields bare, while also cutting away the rot, chaff and eventually the dead so only the strong can produce more fruit, until it's ultimate end.
Guardian after all these Guardians died over the centuries, this one is able to single handedly defeat many of their biggest threats?!? Seems like the Traveller took a play out of the Witness's playbook and it's fighting fire with planning. The Guardian is the actual final shape, it gets stronger and continue to become refined with each battle. Now it harnesses both light and dark, which is madness as unless the Gardener and Winnower are the same being but two consciousnesses, this shouldn't happen. Light and Dark from one being born in the Universe, what are the implications of this? I'm thinking that the Guardian might be too powerful as both light and dark beings would be no match for it. You can't suppress it's light and think you'll win, because it can use Darkness and if you suppress Darkness it can use light, no other being we've been privy to can suppress both simultaneously. So just what exactly is going on, are the Gardener and Winnower trying to create something else, of this was simply a game to win, that's easy but this Guardian turns things sideways. Do they want to create something that sits between the both of them? A third to be a tie breaker?!?
Yeah I went off the deep end, but I'm just intrigued by this Guardian and it's strange position as it grows continually to the point, even those who ally with it fear it. I'm 100% they fear anything they cannot control.

Destiny 2 almost killed the community, because Bungie removed everyone's gear that they spend years collecting from the first game. It's why they keep bring back old toys, like Shadow Price or Hardlight among other weapons, especially the recent one. Hell, they even changed the entry quest to mimic the original Destiny intro. if there's a D3, it'll likely be an 'expansion' of D2.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we have an event similar to the Lightfall showcase within the next year, which shows off all the new Destiny media coming up

It's pretty clear why Playstation bought Bungie, they wanted Bungie expertise for 1st party live service games and Bungie wanted to expand its IP's and have access to Sony Pictures

Not gonna lie, man. One of the most hope filled and restorative videos you've made yet. Not myself, but a lot of people are losing faith in both Bungie and the game, especially in the PVP world (the storyline still slaps, though). This brings those same people a lot of hope. Well done, brother.

i think first and foremost, sony bought bungie to get that IP so they could haev something to make movies and shows with. even though halo was a bust, it still could have been huge. arcane is huge. think about a destiny show and destiny movie? with sony's animation house they could do a lot with this. why do i say this? because sony isn't putting any restrictions on D2 the game. if they wanted to make money off the game itself, they would go back to timed exclusives - thats just what they do. but they said "yeah go crazy" because they want that sweet sweet IP to make tv, movies, and other stuff. so yeah we're gonna be seeing destiny animation soon, i'd be shocked if we weren't.

Im calling it. Remember "Destiny awaits"? Next step for Destiny will be called Beyond. It's a move fitting Bungie too well!

Even before the Sony money I was really concerned that Destiny was spreading itself thin after its Activision split.

I hope new IPs allow Bungie to give us different gameplay styles and it allows Destiny 2 to continue doing its own thing. I'm especially excited for games set in the same universe as Destiny. I would love to play a slower game like Destiny 1 while Destiny 2 is simultaneously playing out. Even if the game played out in an alternate timeline I'd be happy

I'm just gonna throw this out there but a top down destiny game with all the weapons and loot. Oh man I would love that.

If they want to make an animated show like Arcane then the pick for the show is easy. Cayde-6 origins would be an instant win for them. The character is a beloved icon in the games & it would be an great way to expand the early lore & missing details from that part of the games story. The amount content it would give to many of the destiny content creators would be great as well.
