I actually just got my Sol permit- and I decided to casually explore Sol for the first time. Suddenly there was a thargoid alert. I google it, but nobody was talking about it. So I got in my AX and blasted a few flowers, and then went to bed. Little did I know I as the first to play Earth Defense Force 4.1 in ED
The Thargoid invasion has all been one big misunderstanding. They only came to ask Buur, ‘where did you get that scarf from? I would like one of those scarves. … And, whilst we’re here, may I pet Stan?’
Just to add to my last post, just 10 minutes ago I did a run out of Sol with a Python. Station near Jupiter. Some guy wanted out BAD, he offered 50 million credits. For 12 passengers in economy. I thought it was a glich but I took the mission and a couple more. Intercepted on the way out, they shut down my drive twice, did the lightning bolt thing, fired missiles, the usual routine. Not as terrifying as last time and no passenger ejected. Warped out, got to the rescue ship and the run netted 62,875,050 credits. That guy actually paid up.

I hope its not lost on anyone that a pretty large group of us having been going hard in Sol over the last few weeks to flip system control from Mother Gaia to Sol Workers Party in an attempt to get the permit lock on Triton lifted. And, literally hours after the first day SWP outpaced MG for influence in Sol, goids suddenly bum rush the system.... there are no coincidences!
@@ChadFromSpace There is only one instance of a minor faction needing to be in power in a specific system to give you a permit lock I'm aware of. I wish I could remember off the top of my head which system it was, but it's one that the player base maintains specifically so people can get the permit because it used to be a place to grind manufactured material pretty easily. That said, Triton used to be landalbe and I don't recall it ever being tied to a specific faction issuing a permit. It just went permit locked one day. There was nothing of interest on the planet before the permit lock. We've also tried unlocking that planet in Lave with no success. I think the guy on reddit who was going full on tin-hatter mode with the Mother Gaia elimination plan may have been onto something, because the response in-game by the thargoid titan to their reduction in influence was very coincidental. Maybe FDev were waiting on players to hit that condition, and now that we are near they are pushing their story forward. Perhaps the Thargoids are fighting to escape this galaxy and find a portal to a new one? Or perhaps they wish to open them to allow new threats to enter our galaxy, or to share abundant resources within other galaxies? Perhaps this will open the doors for several new alien/sapient species to join or fight against the 'goids or humanity in their own fight for survival. I don't know enough about the portals everyone is talking about, but everyone is acting like they will be gateways to new universes, or galaxies, or something. I do not know where that information is coming from. Think about it from game a development perspective though. It allows for HUGE new changes to Elite lore, which let's face it, has been fairly stagnant. The possibilities for new empires, both human and alien, are ripe. Players will soon be able to colonize new systems - which is perfect for suddenly finding a whole bunch of new worlds connected to some kind of special gate right under our noses.
Yea something ain't adding up here. It's very coincidental- Ah hold lemme get my tinfoil hat. Feels like there's something more going on than just Thargoid invasion of Sol. Feeling cute, might head over to Sagittarius A* for the 10th anniversary of its first visit later.
Oh dude! So sorry you're feelng bad. I hope it cears up soon.
I'm trying my best to evac as many as I can, turning my space uber (Dolphin) into a evac ship. Hoping to take all the funds I earn to invest in a larger ship to get even more people out.
It seems frightening... Thanks.
Now that we have sco we can race the stargoid
titan moving soon after someone potentially figuring out where Raxxla is (in sol) is kinda sus
Sorry what's happening back at home? I came back after to Sol after this - I never get involved in any of these things and it all seemed like everything was normal - I looked up some settlements and they showed no sign of being on alert. Just this moon round Neptune called Triton that I apparently don't still have a permit for that, what have I not completed in the game so far then: selling 8 Thargoid octopuses to a space bar or jumping up and down three times on a
Meanwhile I'm out here in the black backtracking after I accidentally let my SRV run out of fuel.
Here's hoping I can finish that and still participate.
I would imagine that this is the start of the colonization narrative ... mankind being severely battered thus needing colony ships to go forth and re-build our future ...
It's a BUG HUNT!!!
Get well soon!
Do you only need max cabbins or are there economy/business/luxury requirements when evacuating?
For group evacs, all economy is fine
Get well soon cmdr Buur o7
I'm going to go out and unlock guardian weapons, and fast-track engineering my ships so that I can reliably kill interceptors. I'll be grinding in my Mandalay for its jump range.
Otherwise I have an Anaconda, Federal Gunship, and a Python MkII.
Which of those three would be the best for taking out interceptors? And what kind of loadout?
it would be one way of destroying the raxxla myth if the thargs get there first
Oh yeah I forgot the locked plant in SOL.
Amazing footage today especially the thargoid stuff, get well soon I'm Commander Buur
❤ (whilst secretly giggling like Rhee in the background)
Thank you Elvis ❤ I did offer to read the script but we all know how it would have ended 😂
12000+LYs from bubble and this happens. Do I finish my trip or do I turn around?
Famrastic reporting and analysis as akways! o7
If the Titan is moving towards Sol, maybe he's returning home!
Get well soon! ;)
Hey CMDR Buur, I hope your cold, upper respiratory infection or flu gets better soon.
The dead game has risen. Might take a look at Sol and rescue some souls.
Sounds like catching up with all of Frontier’s content releases took a toll on your voice. ❤ o7
I was leaving sol with a load of refugee's in my none AX Python MKI. I got hyperdicted and was immediately attacked and destroyed by a Glaive or Sythe. Buur, you love a good cold you, get well soon.
@@AndyFirebladeMuza I loaded up my heavy and only survived because I have some heavy armor and hull reinforcements. They totally used some kind of hatchbreaker and stole a few passengers though :/
@coreyalexbarker yeah they hit me with two hatch breakers. My python was paper thin and soon got shredded. Won't be going in that again lol.
@@AndyFirebladeMuza I *almost* did my first run in my python since that's what I always did the robigo runs in ages ago. Soon as I got hyperdicted and saw my shields go down in a breath, was glad I had some hull hp on my side :)
So far it's mostly a Ganker Invasion, fun wow....
