I'm a 62 year old recent fan of INXS. I probably listened to them about 4 times when I was in my 20s and can't understand why I didn't get into them. They truly don't get the respect they deserve imo so thanks for your reactions. Such a great band and I am enjoying their musical catalog from the 70s through the 90s.
The family and friends comment - it's the songs. Everyone in that stadium knows the music and they are like church in the moment. You two are having the same reaction to INXS music. There truly is something magical about the songs they wrote. And when the familiarity sets in the enjoyment is enhanced. This band is ageless.
It's hard to pick just one, but this is probably my favourite tune of theirs. Just everything about it feels perfect. Michael was effortless cool. Others could try but they'll never be him. Awesome that you caught Jon Farriss ditch the drumstick so damn smooth. Everything about this band is tight af, noone trying to hog the spotlight (how could you tho with Michael tbh), just everyone nailing everything they do.
Agree!! OMG, this is perhaps why they compare him to Morrison, his amazing vocal and the pure poetry of this song!! There's a live taping of this song even a bit better if you can believe.
I think Kirk Pengilly is cool as fuck in this video. He is the most talented musician in the band, and not many people can pull off a suit like that lol
@@iangarner8857 Kirk IS cool and doesn't get enough credit. All of them are actually cool. Someone called Kirk nerdy to the Fariss brothers as such rude BS too. He can be nothing but cool the way he looked. If not Michael I was always watching Kirk and Tim's moves on stage!! Total rock stars!!
You know these lyrics are hauntingly similar to the way he died "In a room above, a busy street, the echoes of a life" "The nature of your tragedy, is chained around your neck" How freaky is that!!!
I love ❤️ you guys reacting to INXS from Wembley Stadium! Love there music 🎶 RIP to the legend that is Micheal Hutchence please do there song Bitter Tears from this concert🙌🙌🙌Great reactions! This is when singers sang live no backing tracks with Micheal, he always sang great live! Thank you guys for doing all these INXS reactions, I appreciate you guys🤟🎶🥰
Early fact: Kirk in the red suit was the original lead singer in the garage band. Andrew on the keys became friends with Michael in HS and intro'd him to the band at his home, in the garage. Michael and Andrew wrote most of their music.
Just a bit of background info for you guys since you seem to be falling in love with INXS, and for good reason. Many of the songs you will hear from this performance were from the two most recent albums they had released prior to this show. Kick and X. They were both massive hits, but they had many successful albums all through the 80s. These guys were a hit machine. Their older stuff was much more raw than Kick and X, but you would probably dig the sound. It was much more... Aussie, much more 80s and sometimes much more synth oriented. When you are done working your way through Wembley, some official videos you really should react to are Need You Tonight/Mediate (PLEASE..DO NOT LEAVE OFF MEDIATE), The One Thing, and Falling Down the Mountain (Kiss the Dirt).
One of my fav new old bands but Wembley is by far their best performance m! Michaels vocals here & all of the are out of the park! RIP makes me sad but such loss! I was a huge fan back in the day! Watching these is like finding a old friend!! He has 3 levels he’s all over it in this concert! Epic stuff! 💙❤️🎸
One of my favourite INXS songs and this version is brilliant . Along with Queens Roger Taylor , the drummer - Jon Farris - is a favourite of mine. Very underrated . He’s the brother of the keyboard /guitar player Andrew Farris, and also the brother of lead guitarist Tim Farris.
You need to listen to more of INXS music. They were the IT Band in the late 80s and early 90s. In order of time starting with the earliest are as follows: STAY YOUNG, TO LOOK AT YOU, THE ONE THING, DON'T CHANGE (the original by the band), KISS THE DIRT, LISTEN LIKE THIEVES, DEVIL INSIDE, NEW SENSATION, MYSTIFY, NEED YOU TONIGHT, THE JULY 1991 WEMBLEY LIVE CONCERT (Which you already did song of the concert's songs), BEAUTIFUL GIRL. I will get back with some more.
Watch Mystify, the video version to see the songwriting and the band relationships working together. All the guys are impressive talents and hard working. The way they played together was magical. P>S> the drummer's stick probably cracked. And the song I'm Just a Man. Autobiographical of Michael's life. Live 2 meter session version
Great advice, I've written comments for them hoping they'll watch it too but every reaction video of theirs still leads me to believe they don't even know Michael Hutchence is no longer with us, this really bothers me ... They're literally making money from doing these INXS reaction videos (I assume) and go wild over them every time but their wilful ignorance doesn't give the respect Michael (and the band) so rightly deserves. I don't mean to sound so self righteous and I'm aware that I could be completely wrong! Mystify is a brilliant documentary film, and Dogs in Space starring Michael Hutchence with the same director and close friend of Mystify Richard Lowenstein is a must see!
The music just started and it went straight to my playlist . Love it already . And it's ashamed he died as young as he did . He was one of the greatest singers I ever heard .
Great reaction! Nice job guys. Plenty more Aussie bands to check out now - Icehouse, Cold Chisel, Dragon, The Angels, Hunters & Collectors, Mondo Rock, Pseudo Echo, The Eurogliders, The Divinyls, The Screaming Jets, AC/DC, Midnight Oil, Baby Animals, The Drones, Paul Kelly, Silverchair, Jebediah, Regurgitator, You am I, Magic Dirt, Rose tattoo, etc..............Cheers!
And this was the song in the set Michael told his band mates, to take ecstasy, that he gave them, and Hutchence was already flying high by then! Brilliant performance!
Yeah, it sounds great, but what about the lyrics? A lot of INXS songs have messages or meanings that are fairly simple and easy to grasp, but this one (and Hear That Sound, also from album X) are deeper. Anyone reading this after having seen this video, if you are not an INXS fan who knows this already, please go look up the lyrics for this song and read them, then watch it again.
WOLF HUNTERZ! Do you read your comments? I've watched so many of your reactions and I always notice the comment section full of people respectfully acknowledging the passing of Michael Hutchence over 25 years ago yet you two still refer to him and the band in present tense? I can see your reactions are genuine but after all this time it appears you have no curiosity or desire to learn anything about Michael, the person, and not just see him as the "front man". Feel free to correct me, apologies if I'm wrong, from a subscriber
The world lost a true talent and one of the best voices when Michael Hutchens died. I still miss him.
One of the greatest male vocalists ever!
Michael Hutchence was a generational talent
Jon Farriss, the drummer, incredibly underrated.
💯
The best band to come out of Australia!
I’m a Metal head but this has been one of my favorite bands ever listen like thieves
He just oozed cool. A true performer and amazing at expressing everything in his performance .
That whole concert was amazing. LOVE IT!!!

Thanks Dei! Great suggestion! Yes MH looks Kool doing anything! Love this song, one of my favorites from X, along with Disappear!
They would have been a awesome band, INXS today 🥁🎸🎸🎤😎👏🔥🔥
Saw this same concert in Cleveland. Blessed to have seen Michael and group sing these songs!!!!!

How about the punk song, "We are the vegetables" loved their first stuff as well, as you said raw and real
That Listen Like Thieves album was mad! How was Same Direction not a single though?! That was a guaranteed hit
The combo we never knew we needed: Michael Hutchence and David Gilmour
Oh, the possibilities
You're right about that song feeling like everyone around you were your mates. That drumstick discard... oh my....gets me every time! ❤️

In 1991 INXS was the best band in the world. And 2nd place was far behind.....
LISTEN to the lyrics. This song is retrospective..not one that you would normally grin from ear to ear and bop to bob...
I totally forgot are good they were.
Whilst this is very good, the album version is WAY better - definitely, worth checking out.
The 'live taping' of this song is even better that here. So raw and focused for there was no audience. Check it out!
