We bought a 2015 Optima Hybrid. Just came back from our first road trip in the vehicle. Really comfortable ride, and even with the Hybrid engine it has plenty of power. Also very eye catching for a sedan. Really loving this car so far!
Jason Honaker Thanks for sharing and congrats on the new ride! They def are one of the best looking sedans out there. If you haven't already, subscribe because I'll have more to come!
Just got the 2012 EX full version. Drove it 630km to get back home. Impressions: as far as excitement/fun in driving it is average. i would say it is more fit for women than it is for men in this sector. The acceleration is smooth (low fun), the steering is acceptable, brakes are progressive and not punchy. The automatic gear box though is silent and very well working. Ride and comfort: it is very balanced so its pleasing. Seats Comfort level is very good. Id expect just a bit less road noise but thats a minor thingie. Noticeable good aerodynamics. overall Equipment: The infinity system is a bad ass. The rest stuff are at a good level and you definitely get a taste of luxury. Caution! there is no smoking kit. Smoking guys need to find solution (there are some). Setting up driving seat position is top notch. Trunk: its huge. Looks: one of Optimas top cards. looks awesome.
Ours is just like yours. We love our Kia! At 150,000 the engine was pumping all the oil to the top side and the weep holes in the block were clogged. Got a new engine free of charge. Best car we have ever owned. It’s so comfortable! The only down fall is it wears out tires quickly.
I'm glad it's still holding up well for you! Just turned 60k on mine now. Congrats on your 100th subscriber a while back! I'm one away! Want to be the 100th?? Haha
Had my 2013 Kia Optima EX for over 8 years now - absolutely no problems whatsoever. Fun to drive 30 + mpg. 200 hp 2.4L engine gets up and goes. I live down a 3 mile rough dirt road and my Kia holds up just fine. These cars are inspired design & build.
I have a 2012 Optima EX Turbo as Well with the Tech Package like you. You forgot to mention the panoramic sunroof! Lol 63k miles so far, two trips back and forth from NY to FL, no issues with it. And Kia's been great with customer service. I love it!
Mine is 2013 LX model, 2.4 GDI, made in Korea, no engine issues. Amazing car, not too exciting but super reliable. I just passed over 100k I need an SUV, but don't want to sell Optima
There's a lot of things online about this specific model year having engine problems/recalls and steering issues normally occuring at 75,000 miles or so. Have you had these problems?
That’s the problem, the majority of long term owners had problems. Most comments are not long term owners or are the few people that had no issues. They get people with the bells and whistles but the car has to keep running well for it to be worth it. There are so many low mileage KIAs for sale for a reason because lots of engine replacements at around 60k and 75k (the fed up owners then sell it after). Reliable cars are hard to find with low mileage.
The brakes are great I have no complaints about those. The gas pedal has a slight delay when you hit it but its not horrible. It's definitely tolerable
Real Steel Cars, Thank you for answering my question! I test drove a hyundai sonata and the gas pedal and brakes was so sensitive. I barely touch both of the gas and brake pedals, and i kept jerking . A 2011 hyundai sonata.
@@nasiamay777 I've definitely driven cars with a much more sensitive feel. I guess thats going to be up to interpretation of the driver, but I got use to it pretty quickly
Just FYI you go back and forth as to whether this is an LX or an EX. I highly doubt with all the features this car has that it is an LX. Just decide and fix. IMO its an EX
We got 2 recalls on it but not for the entire engine. I'm not 100% sure what they were for but at the time we got them we had just traded it in....growing family...
