Wow that was a great VLOG. You quickly but clearly communicated so much information. We are on Viking on 5 March a transatlantic crossing and are so looking forward to it. Thanks for being on TH-cam.
What a nice comment, George! Thank you so much! ?Oh my goodness have a fabulous crossing that sounds lovely. Have tea for me!
You were spot on about the size of the ship. We cruised the Mediterranean and you could go in some areas of the ship and feel all alone! No crowds and so relaxing!
Isn't that just lovely?? Such a difference from most cruise lines!
Awesome introduction to Viking Cruising. Boarding a plane in Seattle shortly for the same West Indies tour. This will be our 3rd Viking trip. Agree 100% with your discription of Viking. We travel with a group of 7 and get our own table in one of the resturants and get the same hostess for the trip!!! Loved your show!!!!
I hope you have a fabulous time!
I’m only halfway through your review and I’m ready to book! 😊
Seriously I almost booked another one while I was editing.🤣🥰
Great job Jen!
Thanks for the video! Lots of good information and well presented.
Thanks, Craig!
We’ve booked this cruise for Feb 2022 to replace our cancelled British Isles cruise. Took Viking to Alaska in 2019 and are spoiled forever. Have done other cruise lines but Viking is by far our favorite. Thanks for your review.
Oh you will love it!!
Great review! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!
Great review, Jen! I’m glad you had a great experience with your mom!
Thanks for watching, Liz!
Thorough, enjoyable, informative: THANKS SO MUCH!
Extremely helpful! Thanks
You gave lots of great information in this video. I definitely love the idea of visiting the different ports and learning about the areas, not to mention everything that is included with the price. Good food for thought! Hugs, Kim
I really want to take my mom on a Viking Cruise now, they really should sponsor you because I am convinced!!!
Dawn for a mother daughter trip it is absolutely perfect!! Even down to how they’ll separate the beds for you!
You are spot on with your review of Viking Ocean Cruises. Just booked this cruise and are excited to get underway next year.
My husband booked a cruise for a Christmas present on Viking Sea and I’m so excited we sail next month!
Thanks!
What a great experience:) I loved seeing all the photos along with the review. Sounds like a good value btw for 10 days!
Seriously that’s how we felt too! Per night that’s not too bad for all that was included!
Sounds like so much fun!
It was a fabulous trip!
The excursions on Viking look amazing! Those views though...
Alright. I'm in. This sounds so much less stressful than a Disney cruise. And that cost for all of your trip is amazing! Viking is definitely on my list now..thanks for sharing, especially the sweet photos of you & your mom!
I’m so glad you liked it Jenny!
Looks like a wonderful trip.
Thanks for watching, Jules!
Great review. Much as I would love to, couldn’t do a ten night cruise right now, but it sounds wonderful and very relaxing.
I appreciate this review, especially since i have only gone on Disney cruises. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas.
I have another one filmed and waiting to be edited about comparing Viking and Disney that I hope you’ll love!
Awesome recap! I have cruise fever! Never been on one, hoping to go in 2021!
You would love this cruise line depending on what you are looking for in a cruise. I'm about 25 years younger than the average age of the travelers on the ship and I loved it, but then again I don't care about all of the big and flashy stuff all of the other cruise lines have.
Enjoyed this review. I have never cruised, but recently started researching a few. It seems like so many charge for things I would have assumed to be included, like water.... The price of this one surprised me, it seems like a great value for the length and level of treatment you received.
I completely agree!
Her pricing is very dated, not close to accurate for 2023
Ms Lefforge, after watching your review, we are looking at sailing with Viking Ocean ship the very next opportune time we get when this pandemic abates. thanks for sharing
Thank you for your review. I'm very interested in this cruise line, but I agree a 7 night would fit our schedule better.
I know they have at least two more ships coming on line soon so I’m holding out hope!
Now I want to go on a cruise!
Wow! That bathroom is huge for a cruise ship!
Share more about spa services available. We are taking the trip December 2024 for the holidays.
I was wondering when the next video was coming...
When you are having so much fun and enjoyment that you forget that you should be filming , I guess you and your mum where enjoying yourselves
i am hoping to be on Viking in 2021 to Northern Europe, a wonderful review, so glad you had a great time.
You know how it goes, Richard - you sort of give yourself over to Cruise life and nothing else matters!🤣And I’m looking at 2021 as well - would love to do the Mediterranean!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Try the off season Med ... cheaper, less crowds, and not as Hot ... Got back last December from Cities of Antiquities and The Holy Land and it was perfect. For instance: Places like Rome can be packed full and hot and humid with lines to get in and out of major places ... There was no line when we went to the Vatican. Most days low 70s night time mid 50s
Hi, Jen! I loved your video (and all your videos....) My husband and I have been on four Viking cruises so far, and we are about to do our 5th, to Australia and New Zealand! Coincidentally, you were on the SAME Viking ship we were on when we did the Baltic states a few years ago....(.Norway, Poland, St. Petersburg, Denmark, Copenhagen, etc. That one's my favorite so far, just above the Grand European cruise. I would love to know how you got such a great deal on your cruise!! Did you go through a travel agent?
We have booked the lowest category cabin for a 28 night cruise. We will have to pack lightly I think.
Viking ocean ships have complimentary laundry facilities...we're planning on a mid-cruise "visit" as we will only do carry-on luggage on our flights into Puerto Rico San Juan.
Solo traveler so I’m priced out of most cruises. I love them but they are not my 1st (or 2nd) choice. Glad y’all had fun.
Thanks for watching!! Yeah it’s tough for solo travelers!
??? Thanks so much. May I ask the amount appropriate for tipping the tour guide???
I would probably do $5 per person? Honestly not entirely sure!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Great! So nice to have you as a resource.
We just returned from the Viking West Indies cruise and I so agree with much of what you and your mom said. However, I did not enjoy the included excursions as much as I had hoped. There was such a sameness to these islands. One real problem for me was extremely rough roads which was very difficult for those of us with bad backs. Viking gave no indication about this issue at all. If I had known, I would have passed on a couple. Viking offers some other excursions for a cost, but not near enough. Loved the ship, the food, the talent so much. The water views were amazing. Just wish we had had more beach or water opportunities. Usually not enough time after the included “panorama” tours. Would I take this cruise again? No…unless we had been able to book other excursions other than the included ones! We have booked a Viking Grand European river cruise for next year. I feel that will be a totally different experience.
We've done that one! It is just beautiful in every possible way.
It def sounds so great and I’m with you, I wish they had shorter cruises too!
It sounds like an amazing line. Shorter cruises Would be nice, though. It’s honestly fantastic that you were having so much fun you forgot to vlog...seriously, that’s great and I Love.
Seriously it really was amazing!
Really nice review, I am on their website now, looking at options. Their transatlantic looks like a really good deal for 14 days. We are currently looking for a last minute cruise for the winter, and Viking will be high on my list. Thanks for the great information!!
Did you see they have that around the world one?? I don’t think I could be on a ship that long but it would be an amazing experience!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge Your videos along with other people's travel videos with Viking got me to catch the travel bug. I got bored and decided to look up the longest cruises Viking does and found their Ultimate World cruise lol. I don't know where I would come up with a minimum of $93,000 or find the time to take 8+ months off....!!
Do we have to buy a bracelet or lanyard for ID on Viking
They gave us a card and I had lanyards already so I don't remember if they gave us thos or not!
How much time on average at each stop?
I’m on Viking’s “Turquoise Caribbean Seas” 7 night ocean cruise next month with stops in Key West, Belize City, Cozumel and Mérida.
I need to look this one up for sure!!!
Full Disclosure: I'm a teacher. One of my former students has been a performer on both Viking and Disney ships. She has said that life was easier on Viking because the pace was not as frantic. Glad to hear that you and Mom enjoyed!
The performers really seemed to be enjoying their time and they didn’t have a big show every night which I’m sure helps with that! Thanks for sharing that’s so fun!
Thank you for sharing. We're on Viking next month and this is so informative and helpful.
Was the dress code casual at dinner?
No jeans and men had to have a collared shirt but only in the dining rooms at night. I would call it a business casual ship.🤣Let me know if you have any other questions!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge
Thank you!
Sounds amazing! I think that’s a great price for all that you got. It does seem like a cruise line more for adults and maybe not for kids.
One must be at least 18 years old for a Viking cruise...it is oriented for adults and "mature" ones at that!
Sounds like a great ship and destinations. Are you interested in cruising other destinations/areas? The Disney Mexico cruise, Alaska cruise or EUROPEAN cruises (don’t have to be Disney). My parents have done the Panama Canal, Caribbean, Northern Europe, Mediterranean. They’ve been on princess cruise line, NORWEGIAN and carnival. They have loved all.
I am but not for a bit. I went on three cruises this year and I’m not looking to book anything right now but Europe definitely intrigues me as I like the idea of seeing several cities and only unpacking once!
Love it. 😘❤️
Thanks, Major!
I am taking this cruise with my mom this year, the price has changed significantly changes the same room is costing us 10 thousand dollars
I'm not at all surprised since this was 3 years ago and prices on everything have gone up tremendously. But I hope you have a lovely trip! We adored our time.
did you feel seasick?
Nope!
Hi Jen thank you for doing this review. My spouse and I are looking into different ocean cruise ships as an alternative to Disney. Disney has set the bar pretty high 😁. Thank you for also sharing the photos. With the airfare, was there an option to fly in the night before the cruise?
Yes if you paid $50 more you could have more say on your flights. Another thing I loved is hat we overnighted in port the first night so even if we had travel delays they didn’t sail until day 2.
Seems very nice but....I agree 10 nights is a long time!
For Americans it totally is! Everybody else seems to think a week isn’t even a holiday! 🤣🥰
Heavens. I think that’s like a weekend away. I’m booked for 29 nights. On Venus. Can’t wait
I have to say: this was an awesome review. You talked about everything I would have been curious about girlfriend! And that was an AMAZING price for two people in your type of cabin, with that much included???
Yes, I completely agree. And they DO have quite a few more 7 night than I thought but they all originate in Europe so that makes it difficult for those in the US to get there and back if you've only got a week off. But I am already thinking about doing another cruise with them in 2021!
@@JoyfulLivingwithJenLefforge we go every summer to Europe, pretty much, because all my family is there. My son spends time there every summer (a few weeks at a time), then my husband and I go at the tail end of it and stay for a week or two before we all come back to the States. We did a cruise in 2010 with Costa and in 2016 with Royal, although every year we do a different thing in terms of vacation. We'd be open to another cruise line. Viking sounds like a great deal!
Mmm! Sold me on the sushi lol :)
Viking offers many 7 night ocean itineraries, so no idea why Jen said they don't offer less than 10 night and this was true even when she sailed. Also several other inaccuracies but overall useful for folks considering Viking but itinerary-specific info I was looking for was nonexistent.
Thanks so much for the review! Thanks for watching and I hope you find what you're looking for!
Oh and my name is JEN. Easy mistake.
Did you find this to be more adult friendly?
Well since it’s 18 and up only, definitely!
You speak of live entertainment all over the ship every night, but I don't see any place to dance. Is there any place to dance? 💃🕺
Yes there is! There's a nightclub that had dancing nightly with a live band.
Sounds wonderful.... can’t wait to get my husband to take a trip without our 10 year old. Lol
That was so cheap. Lucky girls.. it’s about $6,000+ if you book in Australia
Yeah it really was an amazing value!
