WHO ARE THEY?
Formed in 1969, the regiment emerged from the merger of the Royal Horse Guards ("the Blues") and the Royal Dragoons ("the Royals"), units with roots in the mid-17th century. Serving globally, it had roles in Northern Ireland, the Cold War in West Germany, the Falklands War, UN missions in Bosnia, and conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. It was part of key defense strategies and reconnaissance missions. Notably, Prince William and Prince Harry joined as cornets in 2006.
HOW LONG DO THE ROYAL GUARDS AND ROYAL HORSES WORK?
After the officer checks them at 4:00 p.m., everyone, whether they're on horseback or not, will be done for the day. Two guards on horses watch the entrance to Horse Guards on Whitehall from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. They switch out every hour.
WHY THEY SLAP THE HORSE?
The purpose of guards slapping their horses when dismounting is to ensure the horse is prepared for the change in weight distribution as the guard descends from the horse.
The first one on the neck is essential to tell the horse, "good job." The second slap is to inform the horse that there is an excessive displacement of weight on one side at dismount.

#thekingsguarduk Thank you for your service!
Theres our MOD officer back. Let him deal with the tourists
The Viking, the one who arrested the kid who was arguing with Buska and the female MDP are the most effective police in the location.
I'm glad the policeman told them one at a time with the horse, otherwise they all crowd round the poor horse, that how it should be at all times.
I didn't see that can you tell me what frame that was please, thank you.

I am convinced more than ever that the horse box on the left (from the pavement) is haunted. Clearly some horses are susceptible and others are not!! So that one horse will refuse to go into that box, whilst another is perfectly fine with it 🤣😇
It's a shame we can't get feedback from these Horse Guards themselves about any possible hauntings in this box as there are humans who are more susceptible to ghostly vibrations. That is, if they can speak about it without being ridiculed by their fellow Guards. It is curious that most unsettled horses complain when in the left hand box and hardly ever in the right one.
I'm fascinated ❣
Your use of time stamps is one reason I'm subscribed to your channel instead of some others. Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you!
Who are those privileged people getting carriage rides?
About time the Police were standing with the guards and their horses to stop the public from standing so close to the horses to where there sticking there fingers in the horses mouths, touching their reins and petting your horses. They’re not their for the public entertainment!
I just want to say, since their presence is there I would think there to protect every one especially the guards and their horses. They seem to do a lot of standing around. Horses can get finicky around large clouds and people approaching them, I’m amazed someone hasn’t been seriously hurt including the horses. I hope this gets done, it looks so out of hand!
Thank you for the time stamps. While your long videos are interesting, It becomes frustrating trying to find the incident mentioned in the caption.
Thank you! 😀
Time stamps YESSSSSS AND THANK YOU
Glad you enjoyed 😀 Thank you for supporting my channel!
Just keep the gates closed. Why have people just stand around creeping on those at closed side?
Your opening shots look like practice for the official Kings Birthday stuff thats going to happen out in the Horse Guards parade ground.
Great video shots from the back with the rehearsals for the Trooping of the colour parades! Q10 did again, just like on Monday 😀😀In and out of the box, for a stroll 😅😅It's not a good habit at all, he knows that if he throws a gentle tantrum, he's off at the stables. It was a BRILLIANT idea to switch the horses in the boxes, as he seems to like the box on the right, and not the "infamous" one on the left. While Tyranny doesn't seem to have a preference at all! I'm happy that today people were allowed to enter the inner courtyard😯 But if it was filmed today, being Wednesday, weren't the Blues & Royals supposed to come and switch with the LifeGuards? I'm a bit confused. Wednesday and Thursday are Blues&Royals days this week, but since the rehearsals were on... does that mean that the Life Guards will stay on Thursday, too, and do the switch on Friday with B&R?
Thank you! 😀

Maybe the tourists will see that its a military building used for ceremonies its very interesting to see them rehearsing
so cheeky of that girl asking the trooper at 29:28 that she wanted to take a picture while hes there working.. he was nice enough to move for them.. some people got some front and a lot of self importance, i would never.. on a lighter note, 30:24 how cute was that moment! trooper was so sweet with Q10 how he was talking with him ♥
She didn't ask could she have her photo taken.with.the soldier she was just being polite and asking was it.ok to have her photo taken.
Me da igual que hayan sido muy buenos soldados u oficiales, pero la humildad existe 😢
¿ Se darán cuenta los turistas que eso es zona militar y no pueden hacer lo que quieran ?😂😅
They don't care it's the way they were brought up. Do whatever you want, and parents act the same way. SAD!!!!!!!
maybe yes ;)

They seem to think is part of the museum next door, can't blame non English speakers for getting it wrong. Also the only signage around the place is for the museum so its to be expected.
La familia o amigos del oficial ya sé van, que vergüenza tanto privilegio para unos y los demás, claro son personas corrientes pero seguramente con más privilegios en la vida y con un status mejor 👍
Children need escorts. Or they stay home.
The guard in this clip shouldn’t have to put up
with rude and ignorant tourists who pull his
horse’s reins and generally take the mickey
out of him! Go home if you can’t respect British customs or traditions.
Yowsers 😱 it’s packed crammed with people 🫢
Quienesvson esas mujeres ?
Mi padre fue una persona muy importante en España y en muchos países junto a mi madre, soy una persona adulta, siempre nos enseñaros a ser humildes, personas, humanidad y no creernos más que nadie y en casa siempre había, también personas muy ilustres.
Are the young men there drafted or is it all voluntary. Some of them look so young.
As far as I've been told, they are all serving soldiers. This is all just part of their service spending some time back home guarding and attending Royal Parades. I've seen the Blue Royal Horse Guards and the (red uniforms) Life Horse Guards, but the Soldiers in the brown uniforms, I'm not sure who they are. Anyone know? Showing my ignorance here. 😊
I was wondering about the brown uniforms too, whom they represent.
There is no compulsory conscription in the UK. All of these soldiers volunteer to serve their country in the armed forces. Some have seen active service in places such as Afghanistan.
Привет друзья😊😊
