Everyone gets shocked that Mihrimah has accepted marrying Rustem. Mahidevran takes an action to prevent the marriage since she considers Rustem a danger for Mustafa. Meanwhile, Mihrimah regrets her decision. While she was dreaming of the power she'll gain thanks to Rustem, she gets hit unexpectedly. Suleiman hears about "lazarlike" rumor about Rustem. Seikh Masuki reappears again and gets executed after he is judged. Mihrimah revenges on Malkocoglu who hasn't requited her love. In the meantime, Hurrem takes an action against Sultana Sah. Sultana Sah learns about her husband's betrayal for all hell break loose. Rustem surivives Mahidevran's plot with an end-run. However, he falls into Sultana Sah's deadly trap.
The news that Mihrimah and Rustem will get married comes in the palace like a bombshell. The day that Rustem has been dreaming of has come. He divorces Nigar without losing time. Even if Mihrimah regrets the sudden decision she has made getting angry, the die is cast. Everyone, especially Mahidevran, gets worried about the the power Rustem will gain as son-in-law. Mahidevran sends a message that Rustem is "lazarlike" to Suleiman to be able to prevent this marriage. Suleiman stops the preparations of the wedding. Malkocoglu goes on stringing Silvia along. However, he gets shocked because of Mihrimah's revenge game. Meanwhile, Seikh Masuki comes back to the capital. He gets tried with his twelve disciples and gets executed. Hurrem is determined about driving a wedge betwee Sultana Sah and Lutfi Pasha. She throws the odalisque that she has sent for the Pasha to Sultana Sah. Sultana Sah get ragious after she learns about her husband's betrayal.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Honestly, the real issue lies in the fact that she was married to him against her will. She didn't love him and did not feel any attraction to him. She didn't have the luxury of marrying the one she loves like Hatice did. Their marriage was political and most political marriages are loveless.

@hurremhasckis with all due respect to consent , if you don't want to touch ur husband ( and he is not dirty , he is not drunk or failing to provide ect ) then don't be surprised if he goes to one who will. Men have needs like women have theirs in their own way. He never did anything to be unworthy of her, imagine being scorned and rejected by ur wife who also is your ruler. Don't put to much modern feeling on historical matters, love marriage and all in-between was very different back then for much different reasons.
