    Some say I am a tenor, but now I realized I am just too handsome for that, so I must be a baritone. Thanks!

    I have been watching your reaction videos for a while and finally decided to take the deep dive into your older content. I just finished you voice type series and I am so glad I took the time to do so. I really like the description of the character types each range is likely to be cast in. Thank you for your time.

      im not remotely a baritone but when i try to recite something with a baritonal quality i actually do that quite a bit. i guess it's the majestic quality feeling

    I am a new viewer as of tonight and I have been devouring your videos! I do wish you’d have put in some clips of examples rather than just in the background in these, as viewers like me (not a singer, lol) would love to hear examples so I can try and pick it out for myself :). Love this channel! Can’t wait to watch more! You’re so fun to watch! Thank you!

    Another famous baritone is Bing Crosby, but in his later years his voice dropped a litter bit to bass - baritone. Maybe that is why I can sing his songs that easily. Your videos are so nice to watch, especcaly during COVID - Lockdown. Keep going...

    Oh, Elizabeth, when you see power metal singers, male and female, doing a similar gesture to the baritone claw, but with the arm outstreched it's because it helps them reach out to The Mystical Power of the Dragonflame to make their singing more awessome. It's true, when you'll hear Gargoyles, Angels of Darkness, all will be explained... 😇😇

    I'm a baritone and a friend introduced me to Depeche Mode's music as an example of a baritone lead singer in rock (Dave Gahan). Other non-classical baritones that come to mind are Johnny Cash, Tom Jones, and Till Lindemann (Rammstein). I see James Hetfield (Metallica) described as a baritone, too, but for some reason never thought of him in that range.

    Given it's hugely in fashion I was jealous of the clarity and high notes tenors could hit at one point.
    Then I realised I could hit the E flat 2 singing 'Let It Go' an octave below and all was well.

    Some examples from current popular music would be Rag'n'Bone Man ('Human', 'Skin') and George Ezra ('Shotgun', 'Blame It on Me'). I guess they stick out and are popular because they are different from what we normally hear on the radio, but i really wish this was the beginning of a trend to diversify popular music.

    So, if you are born a baritone, are you always a baritone? Is it possible to train into a higher range? I like to sing rock, county, misc folk... is vocal compression my way out to go up on some material?

    • @MultiKamil97
      @MultiKamil97 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It depends. When you sing in opera, you can learn to sing higher and play tenor roles but when it comes to contemporary singing it stays that way all your life basically. It's because you can't really change your timbre (well, you can make it deeper with vodka and cigs lol but you can't really make it lighter) and your tessitura so your comfortable range will always be more bariton-ish than tenor-ish. I mean, even if you learn how to sing comfortably a high C (C5) for example, you still will have more ease singing around low C (C3) as that's how your vocal chords are build like. I hope that answers your questions.

  • @hawkeyescoffee6399
    @hawkeyescoffee6399 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Well, now Scott Hoying's inability to keep his hands still when singing makes sense (I even saw in one video of him playing piano and his hand keeps lifting up) unless he's gripping something like in Say Something video, some times he even goes for the double claw lol. Oh and if it's the whole holding the head of an enemy thing then it puts a new spin on the video of Favourite Things where he ends up clutching a skull.
    How do we get him his Barihunk shirt? Or does he have to appear in an opera to qualify? Lol.

    Do you plan to make a video discussing the bass-baritone voice at all? :D

    • @boundary2580
      @boundary2580 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think it needs much discussion. It’s generally a lower baritone voice that has less on top but an almost bass-like quality to their voice in the middle of their range. It basically overlaps between a higher bass roles and those of dramatic baritones, but has some roles written for it.
