Shaun Livingston. As a Warriors fan, the only guy I can remember who I was never screaming at my TV about. Guy never took a bad shot and the epitome of a team player.
great veteran personality to have in the locker room amongst rising stars
@@cat740dt yup was like the perfect player the warriors needed
That's because he was a role player that knew his role
Perfect back up point guard for that team
His mid range was so smooth
My man never used that injury as an excuse for anything to hold him back. What an inspiration. Unbelievable career.
A freakin warrior (no pun intended)
But Zion can't put the Ho Hoes down. Go figure.
He’s the definition of a mentally tough guy.
He was such a perfect fit with the Golden state warriors
100%
Crucial role player on those teams.
As a basketball fan since the 90s loved seeing him have the perfect roll with GS
Absolutely...he hit so many timely "middies" for them. He was hell on the block posting small guards too. He's a CHAMPION...Respect to him🙏🏾💯
Yep
His injury was in 07 & u can still hear the trauma in his voice. Big Shaun made it all the way back tho, NBA Champion 💪🏾
I could hear it too, what a frightening experience to go through
multiple time champ!!🙏🏽
I could hear the shake too. I mean the guy was screaming at the top of his lungs from the pain!
Glad Matt noticed him rub his knee. He is truly appreciative he got another chance. Such a Gruesome injury to recover from! Props to him!
I could be wrong but didn't he injure his left knee and he initially rubbed his right knee?
Yea that’s a weird comment
@@superemesean5907 not as weird as you think. I could be wrong on the knee, yes. Regardless, that was a tough injury to recover from. I’m sure he was grateful and appreciative that he got a chance to play again. At a high level as well.
PTSD sets in.
Came back from a horrific, debilitating injury to become a 99 midrange shooter and champion 🏆🏆🏆
Bay Area legend. Thanks for the memories.
hairline livingston
He’s from Illinois
@@berlingray8058 duh, he won rings in the bay tho

Livingston was one of the most underrated players in nba history. That man was a baller fr fr
Wasn't underrated...he got hurt and managed to push thru
@@deykno87exactly
he's soft
@@mikewilliams9069 you clown. Hating for no reason
@@mikewilliams9069 being a troll is goofy bro. Cringe.
Shaun's injury scarred me and it took me a while to be able to enjoy watching sports again. It's so sad that Shaun had to go through such a horrific experience but I'm even more happy he didn't end up losing his leg and was able to build himself back up in the end🙏
Jesus, it’s just a knee injury...
Da hell up
I almost lost my leg last yr from an infection from knee replacement. Feel lucky to be walking. So I was feeling this. The pain after wards for 10-12 days was crazy gnarly. Like screaming level til I would pass out. Meds would do nothing. So mad respect. Building back is a struggle. And the facts there was no blueprint I sympathize. I just had another corrective but there’s still 1 yr before we know what’s happening next
All props to Shaun. What a journey. Career. Much respect.
Played a pivotal part in warriors first ring
All 3
I'm glad he fought thru that because I don't know how many would endure that.
Glad that he won championships from Golden State because he definitely earned it 💯💯💯💯
I still can't watch the full video to this day. I thought that was a career-ender watching it on tv as a kid but the bounce back was insane. I'm glad he persevered and had a career resurgence with Warriors and ultimately won some rings.
As a person who got hurt in 11th playing ball and never being the same after due to surgerys and metals implanted in my leg i was happy for this man to win a ring and be a contributer its tough when you try to compete against people who are healthy and nobody will feel bad for you the opposite they clown you for life untill they go threw it
The midrange king. When I saw Livingston I felt good that all would be good with the Warriors. He is the epitome of what makes us us. If only everybody could be a Shaun Livingston. Juan Tuscano follows his form
I miss him on GS like good times but his leg injury was crazy and scary too.
Man it sucked seeing him get hurt……he coulda been something like penny fr
Shit was easily one of the worst sports injuries I've ever seen.
cuz he soft, players today are soft
@@mikewilliams9069you’re a clown commenting goofy shit under everyone’s comment. Bro’s yt account is named after a 18 yr old highschool kid😂

great perspective for any young players coming back from an injury great content!
It was just good to see him back out there hooping again. A courageous effort on his part. #Salute💯🔥
Thanks for sharing, Champ!
Great guy Shawn is. Thank God you made it through your injury & didn't lose your leg. God is good!🙏
I’m in recovery rn and I’m in Oakland. I think about his journey a lot recently
Everybody going through something should watch this clip 💯💪🏾🔥
thinking about that injury jus made my whole body weak, my achilles tendon was partially torn and it took me a while to actually want to put weight and activities on my dominant foot ( right ) the mental aspect of it all is such a battle of its own it’s a miracle livingston was able to overcome this injury and most of all reach the highest point in basketball in winning a championship. glad my dubs was able to help and glad he was able to help. 💙💛
Craziest injury I’ve ever watched live. It was scary to watch, his perseverance is what makes sports great. Salute to Shaun!
I was watching the game when Shaun Livingston injury happened! It was one of the worst injuries ever seen while watching a game in any sport!
I seen the gordan hayword injury live, neither team wanted to play after that. These 2 are the worse 2 ive seen
Y’all didn’t watch kevin ware break his leg with the bone 🦴 sticking out 😣
@@WestsideWillie i did, it was infront of the bench they cried but those were my nba injuries. Outside of the nba yea theres worse for sure!
Man heavy stuff. Livingston glad to hear you pulled through my brother. As fans we don't no what so many athletes go through.
Thank you for the words of wisdom Shaun. I'm about to go through my 2nd ACL surgery on my left knee again and the past few days i was telling myself i can't go through with it again
I was so happy for Shaun when he got footing back in the league consistently! That injury was probably the worst I ever seen!
I'll never forget seeing the injury on Sportscenter the morning after it happened... as gruesome as can possibly be... so glad to have been able to witness the bounce back, becoming an integral of a championship team. Much Love Shaun.
One of the greatest come back stories in the history of pro sports. Much respect to the champ Shaun Livingston 🙏🏿
Love Shaun as a warrior glad you got your chip big brother Barnes and Jax you too are fucin awesome love yall
top 10 favorite player. not top 10 best, just on the top of my personal faves. dude is a real one
Def a legend in my
Hometown of Peoria IL can’t wait for the full episode
I had the honor of meeting Shaun about a month after he was drafted in downtown Chicago at a Sprint store. He was so cool and welcoming. I congratulated him on being drafted (I’d known of him through playing in high school). When he got injured I was praying for him. I hated seeing that! When he came back and won 3 rings I was so happy for him! I think he’s a great example of resilience and determination! Much respect to him!
It's crazy how him and bogut both had terrible injuries and both worked hard 2 get back and win I give him his flowers as a top pick and overcoming what hes been through I reme dat play and I'm glad 2 have watched him do is thing over da yr salute my boi👍👍
respect bro...word
Sounds like a great interview
His golden state run was legendary
He’s from the same city some of my family live in: Peoria, Illinois. His high school was down the street from my grandma’s house.
I rooted for him and was so happy to see him stay in the NBA and win those rings. He was a HUGE part of their run. They could use a player like him now. Someone who could run the second unit while Steph gets a breather.
Livingston.......
One of my favorite ballers bid......
All abilities across the board and hella game ...
Great shot selection ....
Baller
S Dot was the perfect back up pg for Steph. That mid range game was elite. He balled out with the Dubs.
My all time favorite player, hands down. Integrity plus, man.
I’m so glad Shaun is doing well. Champ on & off the court.
No excuses! Mr.Livingstone you earned and deserve them rings💍.
Salute to Shaun Liv .. alwayz been a Fan of hYs wit the BiG Fro ...
I totally understand the agony , Process, and mental effects of severe injuries.
Nets and Warriors legend
I will never forget seeing this. What a Guy! Deserve to be a 3 time Champion 🏆
Daamn I remember as a kid rewatching that injury, how spooky it was, the fact that Shaun came back to the court and was a huge part of GSW championship run tells you a lot, can't even comprehend how on earth do you mentally comeback from that injury, every time you drive, jump, run, you have to be thinking about it..
One of my favorite players growing up
One of my favorite players.
Good brother all around glad he was able to full fill his dream plus win all around.💯💪🏽For a knee injuries is no joke.
I dislocated my knee at 15 but it popped back into place all in ons motion. Gave me a couple bone bruises which i stupidly played through and ended up needing the Greg Oden microfracture surgery for cartilage. Way less painful and traumatic but it did take away my athleticism and I wasn't good enough to play in college anymore. Shaun's journey is so inspiring and it was great to watch him become a champion
Always enjoyed watching SDot ball man, even as a huge thunder fan gotta give man his 💐
A true nba player like forget the all star and superstar freak athlete stuff. Livingston was a hooper
He still looks young too
Let's Get It!!
Shaun gives me hope that we haven't seen the last of Lonzo in the league.... amazing story of perseverance 🙏🏾
I will never forget that game. I was rehabbing my knee during that time and when I saw his happen, my knee caught instant pain.
This man was so damn cold g, shout out Peoria, IL !!
"The faster I accepted my reality and put it behind me, the more I could get to it." Words of wisdom right there. I have so much respect for Shaun Livingston, who could've so easily crumbled and gone into a "poor me" mode. The amount of bravery and mental focus - I can't even imagine. I'm 52 and broke my ankle last year, and it basically ruined my whole year. And I'm not a pro athlete, and it was a very common break. I can't even comprehend what Livingston went through.
"The timing of it all... I'm supposed to be on a whole different wave right now. In my mind. But that wasn't my reality." By focusing on the things he could control, is how he came all the way back and became a champion. His mid-range jumper was basally a layup.
One of the best mid range shots I’ve ever seen!
When Shaun mentions skiers there’s something really important to add: he’s not talking bout your average cruise down the mountain skier, he’s talking about ski racers that are basically bolted into their skis going 60mph where if they make a mistake their leg could get partially ripped off (It’s happened a couple times before), that’s how severe his injury was.
God is good. Thank you for sharing your story.....
His story is a real one! A huge contributor to 3 rings 💍 💍 💍
Nah...a small contributor he like man 7/8
@@deykno87 You cleary didnt watch!! Beat lebron with that bench
@@mambalevel1017 please with your beat lebron with tha bench like dude had 15ppg
7-8 man on a championship team is pretty good though.
I grew up playing with shaun in champaign illinois. we were members of ft sooy( for the sake of our youth) exclusive basketball camp. My lucky ass got to guard this 8th grade phenom because I was a junior in high school and had the best on ball defense. then we'd go to the courts and ball in the hood. He's a great dude!
This is the only NBA and College basketball injury that I have heard of but NEVER have looked up to see how it happened. After seeing P.G.’s, Kevin Ware’s and others, I’m good! Just the description of it is enough. This is a glimpse of an overcomer!
Love this cat. Straight SOLDIER. I fasho thought he was DONE. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
The greatness of Shaun Livingston...
Real respect to a true spiritual warrior. Overcoming the fear, trusting your leg again is the MOST difficult part about coming back. And you still face it during your low moments.
Never even knew he had those injuries, just goes to show you he doesn’t use excuses as an option. Great interview.
Glad he ended up with a great career. He played a very important part of starting the warriors dynasty.
One of the smartest basketball players ever.
And he found the right way to play the game after his injury - deadly from midrange, amazing movement off the ball, great decision maker and passer!
Could have been a „what if“ story, but cut his own niche through incredible adversity and was super successful with it.
Hats off!
Respect Bro I didn't realize everything he went through to get back on the court. 💯
This mf came in clutch for me so many times in 2k midrange was fucking killer 😂
Facts bruh
Much love peoria shaun 👏💯
P-town legend salute All the Smoke
in a team of 3 point shooters, the middy magician and the defense he gave them was invaluable. I'm glad he is in a better place now.
I remember watching that game live on tv when it happened.. it made me jump out of my seat like a horror movie. I almost cried even though i was not a clippers fan i just had a bad feeling about it.. felt the same way about Baron Davis when his nasty knee injury happened, you could literally see the bone rip out of skin
I know his pain to a point, my knee dislocated outward, his was inward and thats 1000 times worse, 🫡 to him for getting back to the game 🔥💪🏽
Mad underrated
Def wasnt expecting this, one of my fave players since that behind the back pass in the McDonalds game. Rolling one up now just for appreciating how yall continue to kill shit out here.
If you seen his injury live he is a inspiration of the game especially the way he played for GSW
My guy from Peoria il. Our city been tough!!!!
This dude was the true x factor for the warriors championship
The mid range God ! SDot warrior for life!🐐
Always loved Livs game
Shaun looks like Richard Pryor,, I know he's from Pryors hometown Peoria IL. I remember him coming out of high school he had a penny Hardaway type game. He had no weaknesses. Injuries Robbed us of an all time great..
Just the fact that he came back and still played 12 more seasons after that injury is unbelievable. Not only that, he managed to stay in the league and avoided playing overseas.
From same town, went to same school, this man was a star in the league till this injury had own shoe from reebok, was star of the clippers, then his injury hit and became a amazing role player
Certified midrange sniper 😤🔥 humble player who was a crucial piece to the warriors…
Sean Livingston the GOAT!
Remember being there when clipper tickets were $5 bucks and everyone was in shock. Glad he bounced back and became a champion!
I was at this game, i was fortunate to do a meet and greet pregame as a kid (I was 11).
To see this injury live was like no other….
I arrived with my friends to THAT game late because we ate nearby before. First thing we asked was "Why isn't Shaun Livingston playing??" because he was on a tear (pun unintended) leading up to the game. Pre-internet era, we didn't find out until we turned on the radio on the drive after the game and it sounded really bad. We saw the highlights on ESPN later. Such a big fan of what he was able to endure and overcome to become a key championship rotation player
I feel for him i tore my acl mcl & miniskus when i was 17 i didnt feel comfortable even playing for fun again til about 2 years later & after having the surgery of course & completing physcial therapy i got back to 85-90%
Man I was a huge fan of him. I cried when I saw his injury.
Look at the way they're looking at him in the early part of the video. They know this is a man who's fought the hardest shit the sport will give you, and came out the other side. Nothing but respect for Shaun Livingston...
I remember watching that game live. I remember hearing his scream 😢 it was my first time actually seeing a real injury in a NBA game thought he would never play again but glad he pulled through. His Injury and Jusuf Nurkic Injury are the worst.
I seen Shaun Livingston at the target parking lot in Oakland last year and I was too scared to ask for a picture with him man I regret it he was awesome bro !
Before the injury, I remember several announcers and scouts touting him as the next "Magic" Johnson, because of his elite passing and point guard skills. Glad to see he recovered.
Honestly he was better than Magic Johnson. At the time.
