- The jeeps & jets event was going on, so we decided to head down to Anthony's to grab some Flagship subs you guys have recommended. The subs were great, but we have a secret spot that is even better! Try Your Store Market at the Shell gas station off Rt. 113 across from the Food Lion in Berlin. Trust me, it's awesome!

Subs looked pretty good, my wife says I'm different, I like more veggies as opposed to meat ratio as long as they are quality meats and veggies of course and a good bun also is a major component. I think the best line in the review was at 5:54 when the boy says (at $19.00 I would get it again) LOL. The air show was great the Italian air force did an awesome show!! Thanks for taking us along enjoyed it greatly see Ya's again next video.

It was a nice change from the previous years air shows. I honestly didn't think I was going to like it, but it was great!

$100 to park... I don't think so. Prices are high enough as it is for most of us these days.
Inflation... OC price compared to other places for the same product.
Case in point - U know that Haggen Daz ice cream place on the boardwalk? A pint is $11.99.
Same ice cream pint from Haggen Daz my buddy just bought today elsewhere was.. $4.53.
Air shows are always fun - good family time with the kids.
19 bucks for full sub isnt bad. and they put between 1/2 and 1lb of meat on the subs. Jersey Mikes here MO is 18 bucks for full sub so its not out line really. the 100 bucks was for the air show parking last year. inlet still normal prices and bus is cheap if your saying down just take the bus for events
Ashley....LOVE your sweatshirt!! I live close to Latrobe Pa, and we get either the Blue Angels and Thunderbirds every year at our air show as well, usually the weekend before or after the OC show. . The difference being, that the viewing area is right on the runway, and the jets are parked directly in front of you, take off in front of you, and land, and fly right over your head. They are both premier draws for any air show. The fact that neither your show or our show didn't have them this year was a major deterrent to people for attendance. I like our show MUCH better because we are so close and can see the jets and planes, and even meet the pilots. But I still get goosebumps when those afterburners kick in when they fly overhead. Thanks for the chuckle with the banner plane flying during the show. lol
Now that would be awesome to see! The blue angels up close and watching them take off and land! The afterburners are my favorite....the sound of freedom! HAHA thanks Darlene for watching!
That was an awesome air show to an awesome 30/40 mile kayak camping 🏕 trip i am on right now for the holidays . I wish I was there for that fun man . Happy holiday to you & your family man and please be safe out there .

I will say it was an amazing week - weather was perfect- it was the first time we seen the air show (from a distance) and it was great to see- we did make a rookie mistake- we went to Anthony’s after day one of the air show and it took a hour to go from 611 to Anthony’s -a lot of the side streets on/around Baltimore Ave were closed and kept getting redirected- and then it was another hour to get back over to 611 where we were staying-
We were super excited when the OSV was reopened- it had some rough spots but we had to drive to state line-
We were surprised the OSV wasn’t really full-
We shalll see how busy it is in October for the beach concerts
Try the assateague market....or our favorite, the your store gas station on rt 113 not far from assateague! You'll love it there. I saw your pictures on Instagram, looks like you guys had a blast! OSV off season is always slow, even during festivals. We'll be out there a lot in October, look for the red squid kite flying and my white f150.
Think for the air show and sub update and keep up with the good work and I will see you next summer season

Anthony's was the best of OC, I heard it recently changed hands. The shimp salad was always amazing, usually 1lb plus of shrimp salad per sub. All the subs were full of Boars Heads meat also. I think the "Shrimper" was $21.I love how you include the kids in your ratings!!
Right now there is a major recall on Boar’s Head products. I think it’s Listeria.

they use huge shrimp so 20something for lb of shrimp salad isnt bad.
The new owner basically ran the store last year, while still under the guidance of the original owner. The official/legal transition took place last October, so this past summer was his first. However, the new owner has worked at Anthony's for many years.
Thank you! I believe you are right, they changed hands. Still all Boars Head meats, but we noticed the subs were packed with a ton of veggies and not as much meat.

Dang buddy....we were in the same lot at the same time LOL. Going up on the pier was a good idea..wish I thought of that. Oh well...always next year.
HAHA no way!! We were parked all the way by the inlet wall. The pier is always good, especially when they fly over it!

Maybe they are cutting corners like everyone else? Wish they were better, I am disappointed. They were always my go to place when we come down to OC! Hey Drew! It was pretty good, but it seemed like there was more veggies than meats. I believe new owners took over, but I figured they would keep it the same, although I can't compare it to how it was before. Still a good sub though!
@@ReelJayB Yo Jay, I am glad you guys all tried it. Believe it or not, after 50 some years of loving all seafood....I never tried a crabcake until I watched your vids. Last winter was the first time. Love them, even though they are Pittsburgh made.HAHAHAHA Can't wait to try a real one!!!!!

Anthony’s is very good but agree we have some other favorites too. I had a sandwich last time, Rye bread was good! Since you said sub roll was dense, you may like sandwiches there.

Hey Jay, looking so forward to coming down to OC in a couple weeks, going to be doing some serious fishing, I've been prepping for weeks getting ready, learned a lot from your videos. Anyway, about your sub review, we always try new places when we come down, but one of my favorites is Jersey Mike's on rt 50, incredibly good. I know it's a big chain place & that's why we do try other sub places as well. Do you guys have a opinion on Mackey's? Me & my wife want to try it, but haven't heard anything lately. Jersey Mikes is gooooooood! I'm glad we finally got one near us. About Mackey's- I remember the old Mackey's, we used to go quite a bit. The atmosphere is great, so are the drinks. I remember the food being pretty good. SoDel Concepts recently started managing them and I saw the menu slimmed down a lot and looks a totally different. I haven't heard anything bad about them, so I guess it's still pretty good.
Jay I think it has to do with pricing down in oc
I think normally I would say yes, or if it were still in June I would 100% agree. But since July 4th, we've noticed a difference in visitors. OC also announced the 2nd half of summer was a lot better. I honestly think it was because of everyone returning to school. They fall into the new norm of school and don't want to travel back down. Curious to see how this weekend will be with labor day.
Ripeano’s subs are as good or better.
Someone else said the same thing, we'll have to try it sometime. Their pizza is in my top 3 in Ocean City.
I am coming down for a short visit Sept 9-11 I’ll be staying on 54th street area. Anywhere close to there I can try to get in some fishing in?
The dock behind the convention center if you can cast far. There's croaker back there. But honestly your best bet would be to go closer to the Rt 50 bridge downtown if you can. From 28th St on up it gets shallow so they aren't ideal spots to fish, but if I were in a pinch I'd try the convention center dock.
Water was very cold for this time of the year.
It's been up and down. 71 degrees not far offshore...50ish degrees miles offshore. It's been really messed up this year by the gulf stream.
That sub reminds me of the sub they make at the Southside Deli in Ocean Pines it looks just like it they must use the same meats 🍖 and I was wondering if you ever did a Southside Deli Sub review ?
