Gosh that was like entering to heaven for me back in the 80's, i still remember all different sounds for the different games playing there at the arcade game place. The 80's were the best decade for me.
Hi Victor, Yep nothing like the 80's and I don't think we'll ever see a decade like the 80's ever again in our time. The games, music, movies, TV shows, toys etc....
Exactly, the 80's were cool, lots of cool things were introduced to the public back then, awesome music, great tv shows and unforgettable movies, yes you are completely right, the 80's were awesome!.
The game room is still here. Added many more games to it since we made this video years ago. The 'snack room' , lol, has been expanded and is where I do PCB repair for other classic video game collectors.
Thanks for the nice words. That's what it's all about for me, going back in time 30 years to when I was a kid and times were simple, and for my children to experience that as well.
I can't believe I just spent 16 minutes with you and it felt like 2 minutes in a time machine. You just brought me so many great memories when games were hard but fun the music was great. The carpet was like eye 🍬 candy too. Thanks for the time warp portal! Amazing
I'm not usually impressed with people's game rooms because they all start to look the same after a while, but yours is more like a showroom. It looks exactly like the arcades I went to growing up. You could literally call this a museum and sell tickets. If you added anything it would be a skeeball or basketball game. Simply beautiful
Thanks Chris for the nice comments. My goal when we built this game room was two things:1) keep things simple and 2) Don't overcrowd the game room. I can't stand game rooms with walls covered in posters/beer neon signs/ memorabilia, as it takes away from the game room "feel". Now since this video, we have put blacklight reactive planets and stars on the ceiling, but it only goes with the space "vibe" we tried to create.
Very cool.. As long as I see a stargate im happy. One day I will get one. By the sound of it were about the same age. I was playing in the arcades in the early 80's too
Phoenix rocks!🤟 It's my wifes favourite. She played it as a kid in the early 80's. 1up need to show it some love and get it in a partycade, atleast. Great vintage arcade. Best I've seen. 👍👍
Literally nothing cooler than a dimly lit room with 30 arcade games playing attract mode to the duet of 80s music. The smell of all the hot PCBs in that room must be amazing...
Amazing arcade room!! The only sad thing is that it isn't filled with kids popping quarters and hanging out. Just a relic of the past. Amazing to see!!
Awesome! Do what you love. Imagine if you had a time machine and could take yourself on this tour. You'd be your own hero. Thanks for sharing. Also its nice that you share the facts that owning these machines take love or lots of TLC and know how. It's not just the games its the art of the work maintaining them. Please share some videos too of fixing these up as you clearly have the skill and knowledge.
I remember being in the arcades on the east coast of England in the late 80s. 10p a play for rampage, golden axe, and double dragon. I think after burner was the first 50p game I ever played.
So many memories. Great to see a heavy focus on mid-80's only, and not newer stuff. Really keeps a certain vibe. And the SOUNDS! My god it's great to hear that cacophony again. I haven't heard that for so long. Just all the 80's machines singing together ;)
I'm 44 and never jealous of anyone until I seen this video. 48 games! and the carpet! and the music in the background! I would be in heaven! And all available to play whenever Id want to. So impressive! thank you for sharing this. Feel free to check out all the crazy stuff I made. I am sure you'd like them
Same. Sadly I'm stuck emulating arcade games with a $40 arcade stick. But, it works. One day, maybe I'll at least save up enough to buy an emulator cabinet so at least the feel will be there.
Amazing room. Took me right back to my childhood. Now this is the home arcade of my dreams. Thanks for sharing. How I miss those best days of our lives!
What kind of kids don't want to go to a home arcade but to watch a tv. Having a home arcade/amusement park is my biggest dream and just can't explain how lucky you are to me
My daughter's friends have come over and they just don't 'get' these older classic games. All they like is Minecraft, Sims, and newer games. It's the difference between the generations I guess!!
The sudden sound of 80's arcade electronic sounds when he opens the door from the garage is so nostalgic! Brings back so many wonderful memories of friends and parting with sooo many quarters!
That's how I live. The only thing is, I want to live with the arcade version of my game favorites and pinballs. Speaking of 80s, I'm watching Knight Rider now.
So crazy that it takes a TV to get your kids to come out there, quite a different time to grow up in. I like that you had a little story about most of the games, clearly you have some fond memories about these machines as I'm sure a lot of us do. I can honestly say I've never played Crystal Castles but that cabinet looks amazing! Job well done.
If I were to close my eyes and imagine my perfect games room... this video is what it would look like. The details in the carpet is like the game changer. I wouldn't imagine the multi screens playing 80's music video... v nice touch!
My wife does enjoy playing the Quantum game, and my son is actually getting pretty good at Stargate. My oldest daughter can put up 300K on Crystal Castles.
It's great you spent time actually making it feel like an 80's arcade with the arcade atmosphere. I see so many people stick a few old games in a room and call it a retro arcade. Great work!

Thanks for sharing your Awesome Gameroom. I have a few games in my small basement arcade room but nothing compared to yours. I love all the early eightys classics. Great Work.
Trust me, your collection will grow!!! I started with one game 23 years ago, and within 8 years I had over 200 full size arcade games, but down to 54 now. It's like Lay's potato chips - you can't have just one!!!
Your wife has incredible taste. I have discovered Gorf and Bosconian both in the last year and they are both some of my favorite games to play, early 80’s space gaming at their finest. The fact that Galaga is legendary and Bosconian is barely known is a horrible injustice in my opinion.
As I watch in complete awe... once again I feel like I am anywhere between 5-10 years old walking through the places I once loved so much. I have visited a few retro arcades, but none with as much attention to detail and well maintained/restored games as this work of art. Thank you so much for posting this treasure, and please consider it far more of a museum than some of the constructs referred to as arcade museums around these days. Just amazing!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, as someone who was 10 years old when these games were reaching mainstream popularity, I wanted to create the atmosphere of an early 80's arcade. This included keeping the later 80's and 90's games out of the main game area, and also not plastering the walls with posters and stuff like that. Wanted to have a simple and clean game room. Also wanted to maintain some openness to the room, so we avoided cramming as many games as we could into the area, which meant selling/giving away several games when we moved the games into the room.
Thanks for the nice comment. Its hard for me to believe that the game room is almost 6 years old now. need to do a follow up video sometime, as there's 61 games including 4 pins in there now.
I can't believe those guys in hot tub time machine went to the ski resort, I would've went straight to the nice old arcades. You can still ski today but you cant play games like this everyday without travelling to a hiddem gem.
So glad this video popped up in recommended. Your arcade is awesome, brought back so many good memories. Makes me want to hang out there all weekend long. Thanks for sharing.
Wow! Thank you for sharing this. Absolutely gave me a nostalgic feeling watching your tour of your magic time machine. The music, the dim lights, the flashing screens and sounds of the machines! I remember playing my first arcade game in 1980... a cocktail Pac-Man at Pizza hut! Thanks again!
I love your Vintage Arcade Gameroom. Its wild that is all in your home! The snack room and theatre section also add to the total experience. The carpet you chose too, completes the feel.
This is absolutely amazing. Here in Madison there are a couple of retro arcades popping up and bringing back a TON of memories of the old days. At this point I think I'd just build 20 cabinets with supercheap MAME machines and call it a week...but your arcade is truly something to behold! Well done!!!
Thanks Jeremy!! It started with one machine in 1991, and has turned into what it is now. I do have the Mame cabinet in the game room, and it is a lot of fun to play the newer games on it.
A bathroom too wow this room is absolutely amazing you have a setup better than most arcades in the entire us I'm jealous yet optimistic I can do the same...you're living the dream man good job
You have a thing I can only dream of, a marvelous, astounding retro arcade game room. Great job, collecting and bringing back to life those extraordinary games from our childhood. And the design of your game room is fabulous.
Fantastic! Very heartwarming to see. And you have both Galaga and Tempest! My love for those two goes back to the early 80's and have always been my favorites. Thank you so much for sharing this. And thanks for showing a bit of what goes into their maintenance.
I would say this is the best collection of arcade cabinets I've seen yet. There's a few missing like Elevator Action, Time Pilot '84, Zoo Keeper and Mr. Do! but damn. And there is no greater song than 48 video games playing attraction mode all at once!
Put a pizza oven and Pepsi machine in it and I'll pay you to live in it! So want to feel that magic again of walking into a room filled with the music from all those arcade machines!! Good god bro you literally have every game I loved with the exception of Mr. Do! That carpet is so killer perfect for an arcade room as well. Right down the road from where I went to high school was an arcade/pizza joint called the Bear's Cave because our mascot was the bears. Spent many a lunch there...and well you know several days when I *cough cough* wasn't feeling good enough to go to school. ;) This video took me right back there and to so many other great arcade experiences!
Front Line was my "go-to" game especially when I only had a few quarters. It's pretty easy to get 20 minutes to a half hour of gameplay on a single credit. Surprised you got the "Bubbles" joystick to work. That machine used a VERY UNIQUE 49-way optical stick that doesn't age well. Easiest way to fix any machine that hums is to take the time and teach it all the words. Thanks for the tour my friend, game on! 👍 👍
Beautiful space! Glad you got a proper arcade carpet. Many home arcades don’t bother with it. Looks great and reminds me of my youth in the late 70s early 80s arcades :) Nice 80s music in the background too :)
The carpet was actually my wife's idea, lol. I was going to go with straight black carpet, but she said to do it right, so I went with the black light carpet.
Thanks Kenny, that's what my wife and I were trying to capture when we built the game room. Simple, but authentic. Not an over load of lights and posters all over the walls, like others have done.
Beautiful.I have my small arcade.6 games.2 or 3 are multi games but they look and function like original.i used wells dardner monitor original soundboards.and the games are exactly to the real ones.I went that way cause I don't have room.I am going to get 2 more games and with a total of 8 I will be the only one here in los Angeles that has a true functioning arcade. The multitudes are AWESOME
What a great Arcade and incredible collection of games!!!!! Add Super Pac-Man and fix your Star Castle and you would have all of my favorites minus a few fighting games.
Bless you I'm 48 and played most of these games back in the day
Gosh that was like entering to heaven for me back in the 80's, i still remember all different sounds for the different games playing there at the arcade game place. The 80's were the best decade for me.

Wow, just wow! Heck even the carpet was just right.
So nice to see this as opposed to the crappy ArcadeOneUps.
im 10 years late! but ty so much for a peak into your world.
You probably won't see this because this video is very old. Your arcade is incredible thank you for sharing it.
The game room is still here. Added many more games to it since we made this video years ago. The 'snack room' , lol, has been expanded and is where I do PCB repair for other classic video game collectors.
For the last 16 minutes and 59 seconds I was a kid again, so exciting to see all those games. Thank you! What a wonderful family arcade.
Thanks for the nice words. That's what it's all about for me, going back in time 30 years to when I was a kid and times were simple, and for my children to experience that as well.

i grew up in arcades in england. you've got it spot on. the sounds of the 80s even had the right music playing. love it
The icing on the cake was the theme to Neverending Story playing in the background.

What a kickass room i take my hat off to you sir! Loving the 80s tunes playing in the background it brings the memories flooding back :)
What a great Arcade and incredible collection of games!!!!! Add Super Pac-Man and fix your Star Castle and you would have all of my favorites minus a few fighting games.
