And another bonus of the ATF in the fuel tank is that when you're scolded for using the cherry flavor fuel you just say its the ATF you added to lube the pump 😎
I love that you built the truck once, and now doing it again ( even better this time ) to your ever higher evolving standards. Keeping the soul, but making it even more! 👍
Your videos are a joy to watch. I'm by no means an auto mechanic, but it's interesting to see how your mind works and how you solve problems. You deserve every follower. I'm excited to see where the Edison Motors direction goes. Thanks for the content. 🤘🏼
One of the things I love about your channel Rich, is that you show so much progress on your projects on each episode. You are a hell of a mechanic, and it's rather amazing to watch you put all your talent, and skills into each of these builds. You've got so much going on... Good on you bud.
I'm very much a 'thats good enough' kind of person, so seeing builds like this that are just done clean and proper blows my mind. Gonna be one heck of a truck!
I’m 74 years and not a mechanic. I’m now driving a F350 with a 6.7 Powerstroke that has 108,000 miles on it and I have always used Shell oil. The F350 has used T6 since its first oil change I do my own changes so I know for sure. I’ve never felt the need to change brands.
That motivational speech @24:00 is just what I needed, Rich. I have an oil leak on a fresh engine build and it's disheartening tearing everything apart again to fix it. But i'll get done if i keep at it. You're an inspiration.
@@DEBOSSGARAGE if you mean breathers I have new PCV on the thing. I tore it down anyway and found the tiniest little gap between seal and crankshaft. Must not have aligned the seal / cover properly. Love your vids 👌
Love the old dodge trucks but you’re absolutely right about all the noises. I had a 79 power wagon that I spent 5 years fully restoring and the amount of time spent just getting everything fitting tightly and getting rid of all the rattles and noises and window and door whistles was ridiculous. All original body panels on a nice old truck and getting the gaps right was near impossible as well, I don’t think they ever fit together totally right.
Don’t know I would have picked to paint a Cummins engine white, but still who could not like a P-pump 24 valve! I’m so jealous even though my P- pump 12 valve is great. Good job Rich
I was waiting patiently for this video. Thank you! I look forward to the next one on this truck. I want to see the finished Silverado back in action!! This IS inspiring to us average Joes 😊
Luke, seeing your pain, I finally went out and put my refurbished headlights in my 2002 F150 super crew, nothing aligned, three bloody fingers later installed! Thank you for your inspiration.
JMO but I would highly recommend you add a Fluidampr to this build. I have a stock 5.9L in my Gen 3 and noticed a significant difference between the OEM balancer and the Fluidampr unit. She spins up faster than before and there is less vibration at higher RPM's. The build is looking great so far.....love all the variety in the channel.
That original transfer case rebuild video was the one that led me to your channel many years ago. You around 20k subscribers at that time. Silverado is looking great
I just put an nv4500 in my 2000 gmc, i highly recommend extending the vent line forwards further, with it being ok the shift tower i get some oil smells on the highway, extended to vent and no further issue
The silverado is coming along nicely, gonna be sweet when it's all done up. I finally got to my shop, outside, to work on my old volvo. The V8 is in, wired up and should be ready to fire up. I'm excited but not excited for making an exhaust or shortening the drive shaft haha.
I was down stairs tonight watching thing while working on my fully rebuilt brute force 750 that I used your 650 rebuild video to guide me rebuilding the motor haha
On board air on a truck is almost a must, even if it’s just a smaller electric unit. Being able to at least pump a tire up and get home is worth the money 👍
Guessing you went double disk clutch? Sorry if I missed that mention. Anyways if so you have to put a spacer on the started to accommodate the flywheel.
When did the coolant part for #6 come on the market. Seems I've heard of the problem for a while but this is the first fix for it. Does this engine have the pinned set up for the crank or does it have a keyway? This is a heck of a build, can't wait to see it moving. Always a good video.
I’m not sure what tail shaft housing that you are using but I had on in my dodge that kept breaking I found that they make a case iron one to replace the aluminum one.
If you get a cheap pressure pot spray paint setup from Harbor Freight/Princess Auto, you can use that for a pressure primer and it holds a lot more oil and can handle 40 psi pressure. That's how I primed all of my LS motors.
I've been watching Pug for over 10 years as a guilty-pleasure. He's been making daily, bi-daily, sometimes twice a week vids as he can, but he really deserves more viewership than what he has for what he does. I'm very glad he's finally getting collabs from bigger channels than his and I can only hope it drives his subscriber count up. A lot of his videos can be pretty boring and he's gotten a lot of flack in the past for silly decisions he's made, but you live and learn.
A lot of flack that is still well deserved to this day. He's like that drunk uncle that shows up, you're nice to him but in the back of your head you're thinking oh fuck he's here.
This is probably a dumb question but i havent been watching all the build videos, what is he gonna use the air compressor on the engine if not for air brakes? Helper air bags?
I came to comment that something is backwards, and it not the shifter. When pouring oil from a 5 gallon pail spin it 180* so that the spout is at the top of the bucket not the bottom, then you won’t spill oil all down the side of the bucket.
If you a full 5 gallon pail of oil and you do it the way I suggested (spout up and vent closed) it won’t drip down the side of the spout, then on to the lid then onto what ever is below, like a freshly painted engine. Spout down vent up works, just guaranteed you spill some oil.
I just installed a Tremec Tr-4050 in my Dodge 4x4- it is a very nice upgrade from an nv4500. Maybe you can work with Silver Sport Transmission to get one for your channel.
Say brother, I see your friend has a CASE CT 450 out front. I have a 2004 90XT Skid steer which needs an equipment pump to lift the arms and curl the bucket. Any chance you can ask for me if he can locate a pump for my machine.? Anyway I'm glad you got your Cummins up and running.
ATF as a lubricant? What do I know? My understanding is ATF doesn't foam as easily and is less temperature sensitive. I am not a fluids specialist. I like the builds. Thanks for turning us on to Bo the drifter.
I put a raptor fuel pump for a p7100. And they recommended 25-30 psi. And that's for a stock setup. You might also want to replace your ofv valve with a tork tek ofv050hp
You can’t check the syncos by only looking at the teeth. you need to have the gear and make sure the taper is not worn out. If it is worn out and you can spin the synco on the gear then it is bad sense it will not match the gear to the speed of the shaft when shifting

I've always done that in my trucks, I put some in everytime I fill up at the pump.
@@derek5333it's a great idea and great insurance against the loss of a very expensive pump.

I guess if it's an engine out of a school bus you now can call your truck a "Chevy Yellowrado". 😁🤟
Maybe you should upgrade the fuel tank, bigger tanks are better. I really like the bumper on that old dodge
Every time I walk by my truck I hear "But I wanna a bus engine". It's like an ear worm now.
