I needed to replace the broken glove box on my M37x and the dealer said it would cost $1,000 total ("well you know, they've got to disassemble the whole thing"). Watched your video, bought the part on Ebay for $100 and did it myself in five minutes. What a bunch of scam artists.
Thanks for posting. That’s a sweet car man. I’m digging that white on white. I have the same car but in Malbec Black with black interior. This is such a fun to drive and reliable car, I love it! Thanks - took less than 15 minutes only used screwdriver to remove screws and flat head to remove clip holding glove box. Everything else popped of by hand and reassembled very easy.
A hint from other vehicles. After removing the damping cable. I ran a piece of speaker wire through the hook end. This can help if for some reason the damping cable snaps back and gets caught up behind the dashboard. Note a Contrasting color speaker wire preferred since there is so many black items inside the dashboard. ZipTie can also work. The two hand method for the damping able is very highly recommended. Installation note:......Take a small contrasting color ZipTie. Cut about a 1/8-1/4 inc slit in the pleats of the filter about center. Loop and secure the ZipTie snug but not too tight. The next time the filter is removed for inspection you can grab the ZipTie with your hands or a small pliers or pick tool. This will make the filter much easier to remove the next time. I use this method on my K&N removable CAF on my 2018 Explorer. Install note 2: this step may not work for this model since it has the forced air recirculating procedure but could work for other vehicles. Spray the new filter with a fairly liberal coating of your favorite scent from FeBreeze. I spray both sides of the new filter and when the fan is turned on you get a nice fresh scent from the vents for a few days. Theory is....if you can’t bring the car to Hawaii, bring Hawaii to the car!
Great instructions. However, I found it very difficult to reassemble the eye hook on the retraction spooler to the left side of the globe box. For that I used a 3 foot long fishing line thru the eye hook to pull with left hand while with the other aligned into position for the snap into place for porper operation of the globe box opening smoothing action mechanism
Great video. Could someone please post a close-up photo of the control buttons on the console? I have a Japanese import, and all the buttons are obviously in Japanese. I am looking to have stickers made in English to cover them. Thanks.
hey i have done everything in this video and also replaced the filter only thing im having a problem with is the glove department im not understanding how it fits in even though mine looks like its in place it still feels like something is wrong and also it doesnt lock it just opens when im driving or just drops without locking in place

need to line up the three hinges and then push it down... carefully....
Thanks for the video. Unforgivable the level or poor engineering these cars are made with. Could have been a completely different owner experience.
