Glen is probably my mom's age. But I am so obsessed! Wherever he goes, i follow. He is so wise and relates to everyone on every level. Which shows how open-minded he is. I also love him because he's a fello ♌️ ❤Thank you Fresh 🎉
Glen Lewis . Bob Mabena . Wilson B.Nkosi . Romeo Kumalo . Earnest Pillay . DJ Fresh . Titch Mataz . Trevor Tshabalala some of my great radio inspirations . Respect
Glen is the epitome of longevity in an industry that's spitting people out every year. No scandal I have ever heard about him in the many years he has been a well known personality. It's people like him that makes it look like it's easy to be in the limelight. I can't miss his show on Kaya. Motso, Skhumba and him are a vibe👌🏿
Hardworking, Dedicated, Committed, Focused, Perseverance, Consistent, Humble, Open to Learn, Loyal, Aware, Makes Most of Opportunities, Unleashes Full Potential, Networks, Genuine, Connects with Others, Business Savvy, Honest, Gracious, Private, Cooperative… Wonderful role model - so many lessons for me
Wow, what a legend!! 🙌🏾 He made me fell in love with house in 1999 with Mob Hunter, Whodunnit & Burning up from the Midtempo Millennium album. I've also been following him to every radio station ❤. He is sooo funny, I can't listen to his show without laughing 😂🤣
@@masalamanganyi6995 Not really, when he was at Metro doing drive, there was Sbu at Yfm and when he moved to Breakfast, there was Fresh on 5fm, so I had my favorites at the time, so right now Kaya Fm has no competition in GP on both Breakfast and Drive shows.
What an interview, really, for a millennial who got introduced to Deep House compilations through both gentlemen and many revered mutual DJs and producers, I still have a ton of fascination with how composed most of them are to this day. Which holds the weight of their strong work ethic and passion, that when fuelled correctly, can land one in a circle of music purists all around. I wish and pray that I meet them all one day in person whilst they still living and send my heartfelt appreciation, huge Props to you DJ Fresh for this. The 23-year-old curiosity around my past experience with the 'Gatecrasher meets Afrikha' album and its compilation artists has finally been granted, I'm Satisfied_ 👏🏾❤🔥
What I don't get is how these guys are the definition of irreplaceable, whether it be on the decks, on wax or on radio. The two of you are the only reason podcasts will never kill radio completely.
This was indeed A WAW of the Week. Real legend. I remember on the afternoon of 9/11 2001, he was on the Afternoon Drive, Radio Metro. I was coming back from work when he mentioned about the invasion of the Twin Towers. I thought it was a joke, but when I got home there it was on television. I love the fact that he chose wisdom from a very early age.Really enjoyed the interview. ❤🎉😊
These two guys played a big part in how my musical journey was shaped. I bought Sl1200s because of these guys. And I still collect vinyl as a result. Been inspired since I moved to SA in 1997. Most radio personalities are because of these guys. Keep it up brothers.
Yessssss!! Finally, I never got the chance to listen to his radio Bop days, I only started listening when he was playing those dangerous deep house sets on metro, MTN connect.
Nice to watch friends chat & reminisce. Glen makes a super interviewee, hearing his story is as refreshing as hearing him play. Mindblowing selector!!!!
Thank you so much Dj fresh for inviting Glen Lewis. I have never seen this guy being interviewed before. Re leboga go menagane. Glen is the reason I tuned in. I have not recovered from few weeks ago watching you & your ex only to find out after seeing the two of you on the show that she past on.
Glen and Fresh, thank you once again for that many great albums you have brought to life and thanx for being great friends with an inspirational journey
When Fresh spoke about Gatecrasher meets Afrikha, I'm reminded that my favorite song for the longest time was Adonis Alvarez - Chango, even went to listen to it still a banger to my ears. You are both goats to the industry ❤
Pimville gave birth to alot of stars...Glen Lewis, Hotstix, Vuyo Mbuli,Penny Lebeane, Mandla N, Lungile Radu, Thandiswa Mazwai, MaE, TT Mbah, Leroy Sidambe, QT, DJ Mavusana, Selwyn etc we really have contributed alot in the entertainment industry
I love Glenzito so much, he is actually the reason I moved to Khaya FM when he joined the afternoon show this year. I used to do the same with DJ Fresh, bona ke feleleditse ke fitlhile ko 947 because of this😂. This was amazing, really enjoyed it. Well done legends❤❤❤
❤wow. what a legendary interview. people don't know how rare this is and it will be cherished forever by the true deep house community. sending all my love From America.

Its Sfiso Khumalo here.an aspiring radio presenter.Clen you are one of the best i do listern to your show on Kaya. I started to know about you on metro fm from breakfast to driver time.im reminded of clenzito avenue.when i have pictures of almost all RADIO PEOPLE the first picture i got fresh's i remember going to make a cope so it be an A4 because it was too small.i was inspired i couldn't have school if it wasn't because of wanting to be on radio, because i didn't love school.i had to make sure i finish my Grade 12,which i did in 2007.im still trying to secure a gig on Radio.
Mr Mid - Tempo himself . 1998 to 2002 when Mid - Tempo was on high rotation were some of the best years of my life musically. It's a pity I wasn't working, I could have bought all those compilations. 😢
Love both of you guys, as DJs and broadcasters. I have followed Glen in Durban when he played even in the dingiests of clubs cause I knew he will serve the best of music. Funny, we were reminiscing with my friends about the White House shooting incidents, but we still went back for the love of music and well curated sets. Thank you gents for thr beautiful memories
@zamamanana1124 interestingly. There’s a friend who's is looking for a raise, and his boss said go get a better paying job, and we will counter offer. 😅
I enjoyed watching this one thoroughly....... this is a true definition of getting your flowers while still alive. All these things are "normally" said after the death of a person, but Glenn is so damn lucky to see and hear all these complements while still well and alive. Wow what a video🌻🌻🌻
1:16 I remember Fresh on YFM playing a Thebe song where he mentions Goodman. Fresh went on to explain that he was "A party animal of note...' and bemoaned how when he passed away, a lot of people he used to host, didn't show up for him.
Thank you to Mr Tsinaba for agreeing to do this interview as he hardly goes for interview. I apply some of his philosophies wherever I go from what I hear about him from his peers. Thank you to the "Great one".
I always felt that you had a way of getting your colleagues in trouble. I miss the breakfast show with Unathi & Mel....😂😂😂 I always waited for you to start the topic and let them comment, that's where everything will always turn left
The one lady spoke about how he admires Glenzito for being able to separate his home life and work life. Fresh knew not to broach that subject. Nobody knows if this man has a wife or kids. I believe it’s one of the reasons he doesn’t do interviews. He’s protecting that family side with everything he has. Great guy all round.
The interview was worth it buy very short. The topic abilities the state of Radio was not unpacked in detail and also his move to Kaya959 was not detailed enough. A part 2 should suffice soon.
I wish I knew Glen was coming over and we can ask questions 😅2 questions I wish to know, how is he sourcing music cos got unique taste. 2nd question his fashion sense is on another level 👌
Woow ! What an Interview. Kaya Fm must put Both Legends on Drive Show Many Radio stations will Run out of Listerners . I heard Fresh is going to Sabc in april & I hope the Shows wont clash.
When I met Glen Lewis 2004 he had a Jag and I didn't know he was a hip hop head he was bumping hip hop in that Jag X Type and I ran up to him as he was driving through the Savanna Mall Polokwane and he was just cool, we spoke about Hip Hop and then I realised he's actually a conscience head!!!
I'm really enjoying this installment..thank you Fresh for bringing the Teddybear of the airwaves on WAW. You just brought memories of Bob the Jammer..him and Glen, hip-hop was their forte. Awesome!
