- Engine heating test! After the Bajaj Dominar 400 the TVS Apache RTR 200 gets to be a part of fun experiment where we get to measure engine and engine oil temperature. Engine produces heat due a lot factors, primarily due to combustion of fuel and friction between moving parts.
In this video we cold start the TVS Apache RTR 200 and measure the engine oil temperature right from the start. The TVS Apache RTR 200 is powered by an internal combustion engine where the piston reciprocates inside the cylinder block. The cylinder block has got metal fins for heat dissipation and in this test we measure the external block temperature on the TVS Apache RTR 200. In this video the exhaust bend pipe temperature is also measured on the TVS Apache RTR 200.

Hey, I have been following your videos, I like them, very informative on self service.
Even I own a Apache RTR 200 4v bs6, I have been facing issue lately, I think its due to Over heating.
history of incident(28-may, 22):- bike was not starting, gave for service, they said fuel pump was not working, replaced the part (under warranty).
present(09 July, 22):- after the previous service I have been facing the issue of over heating, ride the bike for around 20-30Km, and kill it, the bike doesn't start again and also the bend pipe smells horrible (burnt smell).
I have to water the engine, bend pipe and wait for it to cool down, then it starts.
Again gave for service again, they said, last time they didn't replace, that's why I was facing over heating issue(That's what they said!!). Now they have replaced the fuel pump it seems.
while riding back home, and parked it, the bend pipe was still pretty hot and smelling.
after watching the video I decide to test it myself.
I am confused, could that be the real problem can you please help??

You must try with RR310 as well. It has the temperature readings on the console itself. Pretty handy for warm ups.

I have a few problems with my rtr200
Not major but when I cold start it, it'll crank but I need to give throttle till 2000 rpm or 2500 rpm for atleast 20 seconds to make sure it doesn't shut
Or
I should switch the choke on
Since many people advice me not to rev the engine on cold starting
What do I do?
Is raising rpm to 3000 or 2000 rpm at the start harmless or does it affect

But in offline motor market all of the seller gives me a gulf 20w40 oil or Castrol which i think is duplicate because box looks old also there is huge difference between MRP and the price they sell it (250-300rs) help me

If it is cranking up the engine then things should be fine otherwise you can get it charged and check (in case of stock battery you need to check the water level as well).

So bike engine can reach 150 degree while riding in traffic? Then why dont we have 20w100 oil?

I'm facing issue from last 3-4 months and no mechanic is able to solve it and spent good amount of money on it
Bike problem is bike misfires and its silencer( exhaust) turns red hot
(It also melted its plastic casing 2x)

Bro my rtr 200 4v's both brakes are weak after 3800 kms /1 Yr 2 months , brake pads seems to be fine when i looked from the outside. What do you suggest?
Did you ever end up doing brake fluid? We usually bleed the brakes every 3 months to keep it in top condition. Bad brake fluid will hamper braking performance.
Please review Savsol bike and car engine oil. It is available on Amazon. I have used 10w30 mineral engine oil for Scooter. I am looking forward to using 5W30 for car which is ACEA A5/B5 and viscosity index of 165. The number seem to good.

It's completely normal bro, 75 °c to 100°c is operating temperature of any bike engine which is air cooled/oil cooled

Bro, try 10W50 oil in RTR 200 and post results.
Right now the plan is to stick to 10W-30 and 10W-40 synthetic oils. If I ever go for 10W-50 then I will surely post the experience here 😊

Hi bro i brought tvs apache RTR 160 4v BS6 bike i completed 4 free service in tvs service center. Problem is bike gets instant heat in engine block and exhaust pipe especially that catalytic converter region. In service center they are using tvs true 4 synthetic oil which is 10w 30 grade and very thin oil. The bikes get's more vibration and heat . I reported to the service center they are not at all attending what problem is. They are always following same procedure for all kind of problem. Can you suggest me best fully synthetic oil for Apache RTR 160 4v bike.

1. Shell ultra 10w40 fully synthetic oil.
2. Moutul 7100 10w 40 fully synthetic oil.
3. Mobil racing oil Fully synthetic oil 10w40.
4.Moutul 7100 10w50 fully synthetic oil (This is doubt which Apache bike does it support 10w50 grade) this oil is selected only for 1.5 liter bottle . In 10w 40 grade i need to buy 2 bottle for this condition can i use 10w 50 grade.
Your problem will become even worse with the use of BS6 fuels for some time. As they are comparatively dry they will add to heating and wear and tear .
I have best ever solution for you.
Use my Turbofield Nano Treatment and solve your problems. This treats the metal and not oil . It will reduce noise ,vibration harshness friction heat and wear and tear . You can even use regular mineral oil of 10 w30 grade with extended oil change interval.
I have tested it in Canada winters with minus temperatures and also in 45 plus degrees.

@@nikhilgouthamsanampudi No you need liquid cooling for your bike if you use my Turbofield Nano Treatment. Even with your roughest style you will be able to ride it 24x7 non stop after my treatment. We can attach a heat warning alarm and you can keep it running (not idling) till the alarm goes on .
The reason is that the treatment treats the metal and not the oil. It cleans ,polishes,seals and repairs the metal surface inside of engine.
This reduces noise vibration harshness friction heat and wear and tear. Also compression sealing is improved and fuel burns optimally.
This results in more power more mileage and very nominal emissions. Bike will become BS6 compliant and ready automatically. PUC testing will prove it.

If indicator horn and headlight works fine then its self starter motor problem bike has to run regularly for self satarter to work run the byke for two days and see if the self starter works

Adding to what Pathmanabank said I would suggest you to get the fuse and relay checked. In worse case it could be the starter motor brush (assuming your battery is fine).

I really want to take care of my darling (FZS) how you take care of your bike. But I'm just not proficient. Small things like taking care how you start your bike also matter a lot
If you want to take care of the bike with least of efforts and money then use my Turbofield Nano Treatment. This will make your life easy and still you will have a great bike .

That’s an air cooled engine and you are testing it’s temperature when the bike is stationary. There is no way it can cool down on its own.
Hello, 1030 oil should be used in all seasons, even in the summer of 45 degrees Celsius, 1030 oil or thicker oil can be used, thank you.

How to know our engine temperature is with in the limit during 300km non stop ride for apache ...we don't get temperature warning lights in apache like pulsar's. mine is 160 fi 4v 2018 model non abs one day i got engine malfunction light on after a continuous 300km strech with no stop then the light disappeared next day itself is it a sign for high temperature...the light glows continuous and no blinks...any code to it...and till today i get no malfunction light indication so far @@thesportztourer through some lights friend @thesportztourer
