wonder how these guards manage to keep their patience and temper dealing with these idiots
Perhaps they shouldn’t.
It becomes like water off a ducks back but they also have a good laugh behind closed doors.
@@barbaradyson6951 I bet they do! I watched one yesterday just heave the biggest sigh of exasperation and almost a shake of the head.
They keep their temper because they are well trained!
they are trained to protect the sovereign and themselves not deal with idiots.
WE SEE THEM EVERY DAY IN THE WORLD..THEY ARE THOSE PEOPLE WHO ARE SO IMPORTANT IN THEIR MINDS THAT THEY DONT HAVE TO FOLLOW ANY RULES…THEY THINK THAT RULES ARE MADE FOR OTHERS BUT NOT THEM.
YOU are not wrong..
Good thing petting a horse is not such a crucial thing in life, like running a red light is. Perspective.
@@blueandmoreblue The horse is on duty just like a soldier. Would you walk up and touch a military guard that is on duty? This touchy touchy feely feely is ridiculous when they are on duty. But of course people think the horses are there for their benefit. Stand back, take a pic and move on. SMH
@@dorisbotts6414 But the horses are there to draw and entertain the tourists.
@@dorisbotts6414
The Guards and whomever is in the administration, allow petting the horses. If they allow it, why do you worry about them. Most tourists and Brits behave respectfully and the Guards are not shy about correcting a tourist. I'm betting the England "Guide" books say that you can pet the horse of a King's Guard. ✌️
To ALL who come to see these Soldiers, Please Respect these Amazing Men and Women and know the Horse is a Soldier too who are NOT there for your Disrespectful and Exhausting behavior !
PLEASE give the guards a baton to smack people who keep acting up. They have the constitutional authority via the King. Plus it would keep the horses and riders safe.
Haha like the idea of whack a mole😂😂😂
or the use of the sword...to keep them in line.
What I would do as a tourist before I touched the horse I would ask the guard if it was alright and if he said yes that’s fine, but if he said no, after all he knows the horse, he knows whether it’s having a bad day or not, then what he says goes, if he says move away, you move away and if you don’t then you deserve to be trodden on, kicked or bitten. That woman who was feeding the horse, the guard was looking the other way, she shouldn’t have done that without asking, the horse could have been on a special diet or allergic to the food she was giving it. Some people are really very, very stupid and ought to be put down.
@@merylwhiteley1593Me too, 😂 Wack-a-mole vs Wack-the-cracked-Tourist could work quite well!! I'd play it!!
@@lindatruax8319 Hahaha I think a lot of people would enjoy that and join in
Disgusting all that trash dropped in front of horses unbelievable
So are english people 😢
How do you know they have are English?
Tourists need to learn some manners and respect , they are rude. What these people that do visit are all guards are highly trained soldiers are not to be messed with. I feel for the horses they don't want to be touched all the time the beauties have feelings of their own. You never mock , point , make fun , laugh at all on duty guards most importantly don't disrespect them. All guards deserve all the respect there is. 💂♂️
A few decades ago we didn't and wouldn't have touched the horses - I wonder why it changed. Tourists think it is their god-given right to keep touching those poor horses
I own horses and have lived with them for over 60 years now. That brownish horse with the pink nose seemed very well disposed toward people and seemed to be enjoying the interaction with the tourists. I guess I looked away for a moment and missed the unthinkable teen.
People here often assume that the horses don't want to be touched. If they don't want to be touched they will let you know by laying back their ears and moving aggressively with their nose. For some of the horses, though, being made much of by the tourists may be the highlight of their day -- welcome stimulation from😊 of the boredom of their stalls.
You have no manners and respect judging by your unmerited supercilious comment
Well put.
@lorraineprahm5461 Was that aimed at me or at the original poster? I have great respect for the guards and for the horses themselves. I merely questioned the portion of the original comment that said horses don't want to be touched. In other videos, I have seen horses indicating that they don't want to be touched. In others, this one included, I see body language indicating that the horse does not mind being touched and is enjoying the attention. I am not some naive person whose sole knowledge of horses is watching The Lone Ranger on TV. My 60 years of owning horses comes from daily interaction with them. They l8ve with me, rather than at a boarding facility where I visit them a few days out of the week. I am beginning to sour on this channel because of the general trend to criticise the tourists for wanting to touch the horses. Some deserve criticism for interfering with the reins, but a pat on the neck is different. I see the soldiers and police patting the guard horses all the time. It is a friendly greeting between a human being and a horse. Now, if you want to criticise tourists for disrespecting the institution of the Horse Guard by throwing trash, being loud and disorderly, and lounging on the pavement when they are trying to pass, feel free. Just don't claim to know what is in the horse's mind unless you really do.
You couldn’t pay me to be in that crowd!!!!

Me Either I Love The Guard's & Horses But Some Of Those People I Yell At Them. Sitting Here At Home. They Have No Respect At All.
Some of the foreign teens really are quite disrespectful. Regarding horse and guard.
If foriegners want to have a photo taken near one of our ROYAL guards they need to understand the word RESPECT WHEN IN SOME ONE ELSES COUNTRY..
Respect goes both ways, doesn't it The tourists chose England to visit, which is the main way England makes money. There are bad apples, but 95% are respectful. You should be thankful and respectful in return. Tourism is vital to you.
@@blueandmoreblue Good manners cost nothing and there are plenty of British that visit Britain's Capital but foriegners are ignorant and think because they are visiting can just ignore Our Rules..THESE ARE SERVING SOLDIERS NOT TOY SOLDIERS JUST TO HAVE PHOTOS OF..RESPECT THEM..
@@wendylinton453
But don't you see that it loses its seriousness to many because they're allowed to engage with the horses in the first place. They can touch but don't always know the exact ways how. Souvenirs are sold, the changing of the guards is for tourism. How are the young supposed to know how sacred it is to you, it looks like a free for all. . British youngsters are not immune to making a mistake, btw. I used to live in London. They're brains are still growing. Don't take it so seriously if someone gets it wrong. They are not purposely trying to disrespect your traditions.
@@blueandmoreblue your excuse won’t fly. It’s enabling bad behavior.
If you have ever been bitten or stepped on by a horse, you will never forget it. It really hurts! These horses are too kind. 😆
AMEN!!
Tourists should not leave trash it could cause an accident with horse or guards ,respect is needed they work hard they deserve respect
Respect pride love for life . Take you rubbish with you or put it in a bin . Disgusting people . I tell you what the guards , horses and police have way more patience than I would . 😒

Unfortunately litter bins are generally not found at a lot of tourist sites close to government buildings. Bad people are/were inclined to put bombs in them. 😟

@carolrose3367 There are dustbins among the bollards. Straight opposite the large gate.
Odd thing is, immigrants come from countries with no human rights but when they land in a different country, they complain about everything. I am not from Europe. I work with immigrants where I live.

That was dangerous and stupid. So safety Rules don’t apply to him? Wow already entitled and disrespectful at such a young age..won’t he make a good adult citizen where ever he came from.
Is there a new policy to soft handle obstructive tourists. The soldiers and the guards need to be more firm and yell at the stupid sods. It's abundantly clear that politely asking people to move out of the way for their own safety doesn't work. Of course, if they get trampled these wonderful videos will prove that they were in the wrong and have no cause to sue.
Not to mention , blowing papers would freak out the horses!!!
And plastic bottles lying on the ground
Time the police stopped being ridiculously too soft! The tourists take every ounce of advantage of this. The guard should have charged at him!🏴
Bet the horses and guards wish they were back on the beach......they must dread being on this job.
Someone has said it's an hour ,it must feel like many more ,when these idiotic tourists are constantly touching...the Guards must dread their scheduled slot.
Dont think that i have ever seen the grounds so messy. Too many people/teens dont care about other people or other peoples properties. 😢
The indignity of it all!! Makes my blood boil!
Doesn’t anyone carry a little baggie around with them so when they’re done with their meal they can throw it in the bag instead of on the sidewalk where people walk?
Australians fix a dggy- doodoo bag to their dog's leash so they pick and and dispose of "it" in the right bins. Brits would simply not follow the rules, or law bc they don't here. No idea why.
Pure selfish ignorance!!!
Where are on the spot fines for dumping rubbish?

Bloody hell, why did they let all those kids and adults through. Those boys couldn't even wait 5 minutes for the guard to go through before taking a photo.
What a,disgrace can't these ignorant people dispose of their litter properly?
That was a very speedy Routemaster, quick off the mark and a very quiet engine…like the old days! I miss them…
That group of young boys looked foolish. No one thought they were cool. They will eventually need to be bailed out of jail. Their body language and facial expressions said it all.
Stand AND respect NO feet on the wall THANK YOU. 👍
Horses are so sensitive the petting must be torture. Such disrespect what a shame.
They look happy to me and less bored having visitors. ✌
Some of the horses actively solicit attention from their visitors, particularly the younger children. They turn their heads to be included in the picture.
And then there's Arni. We don't talk about Arni. . .too much. 😂
If I was a horse being being touched so much I would have to bite ,I wouldn't be sorry either 😅😅
Yes, I’ve noticed a lot more trash lately, people should be ashamed!
Get your feet off the walls, and do as your told or go away
Glad to see the signs have been amended to include don't touch the reins. It's about time.
Has it gotten worse this year with all the rubbish or has it always been like that in the area. Considering the amount of people protesting about change I don’t get it, at least there’s no orange confetti or people sat in the road. There should be someone patrolling and an on the spot fine issued for leaving rubbish. Take it with you and wait until you find a space that might have bins, there must be shops around that sell these items with a bin or take it home. Better Stijl don’t buy anything if you can’t carry the trash with you, don’t leave it laying around for people to trip over, that includes the horses too, they can get injured by stepping on cans or even broken glass should a bottle fall off, of one of the bollards. I dread to think what hovels these people live in if they can leave rubbish there then they aren’t very tidy people at all and have no manners. Theirs houses and hotel rooms must stink with all the crap they leave laying around. Scum of the earth.
Seems worse imo.
Beautiful, patient horses. God bless them.
Did nobody else notice the trash these tourists throw on the ground and every empty surface? Such disrespect.
The trash needs to be picked up.
There is no consistency in how the officials stop the bad conduct of tourists (British or foreign). The rules seem to change daily. The poor guards do not know what to follow.
I love these horses, each and every one. Obviously they are treated with great respect and love by their handlers, they are always so friendly with the many strangers who pet them. They're relaxed, well done!!
Was not to long ago you would think differently. Too many people grabbing reins and touching horse's and guards.
@@lindawarring6486 I see. Why do they allow, "touching" the horses?

Do you know that the world thinks English Guards don't reply and you shouldn't address them. You think the Guards want to reply to hundreds of requests to pet the horse and what if they keep talking with more questions.... I agree in a perfect world it would be polite but it's not practical. I do however think they should look back and say thank you or nod or smile.
If the horse frightens you STAY THE HELL AWAY FROM IT
Good bless him too!
Thats Kenny with the board, hes often walking past at horse guards
The brat putting his feet on the wall just shows they have no respect for the UK.
I really saw no intentional disrespect from anyone. Just tourist trying to get a picture to remember their visit. What I was impressed with was how the soldier in camp controlled the crowd all by himself! All it took was someone dong their assigned job & paying attention. GOOD JOB, SIR!
These guards seem to be good as,doing their jobs instead of just gossiping to mate.
Why do the powers that be continue to let ‘tourists’ near the horses and the guards, majority of whom have no respect for culture and traditions. They laugh at the guards and police and to add insult to injury they then leave all their rubbish. I feel so sorry for the guards having to put up with all the crap (excuse the pun)!
This place could learn a lot from Disney crowd control! Some simple painted lines and lightweight rooes or guides would help.
If they behave and leave their rubbish about ,what are their homes like ,if a horse should slip causing great harm to it and seriously injuring the guard ,take your rubbish, sure respect to our wonderful guards and beautiful horses they at work god bless you all xx

Disrespectful tourists leaving their rubbish behind, for gods sake take it with you and put it in a bin.
I have been passed the crowds and it's not easy getting through some of the tourists just won't budge and some can be really rude. There's people that follow police and guards around constantly with cameras on sticks.
The Council should employ someone to do a walk about, picking up the litter. After all, it is a tourist hotspot. But, better still people should take their own rubbish away with them, but they don't! It's so disrespectful to the soldiers, horses and our country!
I think the term visitor should be used as opposed to tourist. I’ve seen a lot of people with English accents acting like idiots.
My grandkids know better than to assume they can touch animals or do anything without asking.
But they're not allowed to act entitled either. They are all younger also & have better manners.
Hard job for the guards and absolutely inhumane for the poor horses standing in place for long periods with tack and rider

There is a sign telling you not to touch the horse, but there are stupid people everywhere who don't understand what that means.
And they don't understand that records remain forever on SNS.

You would think that they would cleanup the area in front of the horses. Does not look very good.
The so-called tourists can and should take their rubbish/trash with them! @bettiegoober7853, I am more concerned about the safety of the horses and guards than looks. The horses or guards could slip on the garbage possibly causing severe damage to themselves. The tour guides can and should ensure that their tourists take their trash with them!

I see they have changed the sign to warn people not to touch the reins. As for not touching the horses, even the soldier in army uniform wants to give the horses a pat.
