Trying to quiet down a race car? Blasphemy! Vin spices up his 700HP LS powered M3 with Ticon Titanium pipe work. Luckily our man Jameson was brave enough to learn the ropes of welding Ti on Vin's pipes. Why Ti? To drop some keep the weight down and flex up. A few more episodes and we move on to testing!

As metal fabricator i cant believe how much exhaust makers rip-off car people. Iv seen a couple bent tube sell for 100s for 2 min work on a pipe bender 🤣🤣🤣 i guess im gonna start making exhausts on my breaks 💰💰💰
@@Rab_Cee You sell parts for what they cost to manufacture, or for what customers are willing to pay - whichever is higher
@Rab C you can't mandrel bend on a standard bender. You can get away with some header sizes but you're still going to lose area around the curve. Anything larger is gonna crimp. I do agree that there are plenty of shops ripping off, but there's just as many customers that have no idea what goes into a job and just see the cost of materials.

Use filler rod on titanium! Although you can fuse it, using filler rod is way stronger especially on exhaust parts

17:53 Put a strip of heat resistant rubber or silicone between the clamp and the exhaust. It will dampen the vibration and resonance going into the hanger. I know it's rubber mounted on the top and it's a race car. but that piece of flat bar might get noisy at the right RPM. It's an expensive exhaust, so you might as well do that little bit extra.
This. Plus the exhaust should probably get a flex joint in it so it doesn't crack all the welds apart too

It might still be loud. But at least it exits out the back. So most of the noise will be behind you.

I have straight pipe with a glasspak.......on a focus. Its "quieter".
Mine is all built with a harborfreight special, but what I know about welding....you back purge to prevent sugaring, but on an exhaust its just gonna blow out the back vs if it was intake/intercooler and small bits would get eaten. Does back purging make a difference for structural integrity as well?? Well he answered that, thank God for the fab guys cause the Hoons seemingly know jack all

19:33 Its because of the Y collector. If those are still unequal length headers, the exhaust pulses are smoother yet still off set to give it that chop.

Hey vin I’ve posted a comment in a few other videos but I remember from the first you we’re talking about your diff being questionable. Brian from Jimmy Oakes did a diff conversion in his e46 that might be an option you could consider. It converted a big ford centre and axles into his car using stock mounting points. From memory it was the biggest and strongest option before going winters quick change. Hope this is helpful info. I know I haven’t given a ton of info but check out jimmy’s channel or get in contact if you can 👍

Id always add some ERTi-2 on some exhaust Ti welds. Dont just fuse it haha.. you can do that with SS and AL also but its just a brittle joint.
That was my thought. Just fusing it makes the weld joint thinner then the pipe itself.

You should use filler but you don’t absolutely need to. adding filler will make the joints much stronger. And back purging is a must not just recommended lol
I know brother I saw the lack of back purge and was like 😱 the coking inside has to be terrible

No filler rod aka the reason that hanger "didn't work out"
I did see he back purged for final weld out but should've been using filler as well to help keep those joints together.

To be honest your better off using 2 bottles for back purging and using a split you can draw the pressure away from the back purge with the torch
I thought it was horrible for an engine without Mufflers? Nothing worse then an ridiculous broken exhaust….! The Car is Crazy! Love the series!
*I know NOTHING of welding, but I know they make ends caps on piping/ exhaust for welders when using argon*

😢 pls do a dual tip exhaust . E36s look strange with cans unless it's a dual exhaust.and there's one tip on each side.

Im getting to know him so well during this build. I too am all about some mufflers and resonators and even super high flow cats! Open the flow with the priority of sound control! And if the sound is too loud you making us look very bad as fast as emissions. Which doesn't helo because lbrls rule America [literally they make the rules] liberaly
