I would like to think that at the escape of the mansion in the doll house dlc, there is no tram and instead you need to go back through every room you've been through in an hour, encountering every specimen backwards while taker uses spikes to block your way, having to cut them down to proceed

Adding this to my running music playlist, I get the feeling this'll make me go pretty fast.
Every 100 rooms the taker gets more dangerous.. and has a new mechanic you have to deal with.. much like how you fight him in the end.
There was a plan to make him summon the clay monsters once the player obtained the axe, but it never came to pass.
@@spooklass3588 Should update that mod and make it be its fully its own thing cause pretty sure this mod will gain alot of traction since games a super popular meme levels now. taker gets faster and more tricks, ranged blasts, as you get to room 1000, (slow from room 1 to 100, gets 0.5x faster room 200 to 300, use the takers known abilities like screaming collems placed Infront of the player from time to time, (like the moment they walk on it the screaming collums pop up you know screaming not in the ready state the screaming state) could make the taker change into its meme rocking out state too, turn him into a new sans and watch the internet go nuts lol and like you said moment player gets the axe clay monsters pop up.. you have a goldmine here i suggest to not have its potential wasted ^^ room 700 to 800 starts shooting balls of fire at the player, (can be knocked away, until room 900-1000 :P and taker becomes 0.4 faster (pretty sure 2.0 is player sprinting speed (1.9) be the takers final speed making the player have to use the sprint bar smart and stop looking behind him and learn to dodge everything XD) Expand the mod spooky might notice! (course might have to make taker unable to phase through walls to make it fair cause the loop de loop rooms are an ass or just make the takers speed up speed be 1.8 instead, just helpful tips to make taker feel fun fair and well hes the final boss after all it be a fun thing to do :P, course taker as a final boss would need a beefy buff since hes epic in this one XD)

i love it when people really like 2 games so they combine them to make something really cool. In this case, its a mix of Pizza Tower lap 3 (which is already a mod) and Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion which are both incredible games. Good job guys

A little bit of criticism.
I think the ticking should start out more softer and slowly become clear as the song progresses to maybe around the 20 second mark. Rather than just suddenly becoming a presence that gives it a comedic feel, instead of what I personally would've been a building pressure on the part of S9's encroaching presence.

Idea for hard mode-
Double the number of rooms
Have taker replace goop.
No save points.
Add several of the harder endless mode and calamari hospital monsters.
Finally have the last 100 rooms be a final gauntlet of sorts where every specimen is chasing you at once while this banger plays.
Hard Mode already in development, although not nearly as hard
- All Specimens have Hard Mode counterparts that have unique abilities (similar to EM Ringu)
- EM Ringu replaces Ringu
Hard Mode, Taker Mode, and Saveless are all modifiers that can be active at once, good luck!
Sadly multichases, at least until I rework literally every specimen, are impossible.
Specimen ten will be on a murder spree those last 100 rooms without rework lol

Sounds like you sampled pizza tower! but that's probably just because pizza tower is using simple Midi stuff.
Pizza Tower specifically uses the Wario Land 4 and Battletoads soundfonts, which are both used in this song as a deliberate nod to Pizza Time and the various official and fan-made lap themes.

I actually played this mod (Unrecorded due to technical issues with XBOX game bar) and honestly Spooky's jumpscare mansion was not built with old specimen 9 to always be after you in mind. Since in most of the random rooms you can just leave before he shows up and while there are a few rooms where he can be a bit of a threat, it still doesn't feel engaging to run away from him. The mod also disabled the chase music for all the entities for some reason.
1. Spooky's doesn't like most normal video recording software for some strange reason. This is why I've never recorded a video of Taker Mode myself.
2. That's fair, the most engaging parts of Taker Mode are the Specimen rooms since they aren't made for him, the Specimen 10 chase, and BIG_03. Most people seem to enjoy Taker Mode because they don't know it's that weak. Even then, Taker has been buffed significantly. I might make a harder version of Taker Mode in the future, but I hadn't because people struggle with even this variant.
3. Disabling all chase music is very much intentional since the focus is entirely on the Taker. It's also based on the fact that Amputated Marshmallow and Pizza Time override any other music / ambience.
In response to this comment, the Taker spawns closer to the door in rooms that it's applicable in. Also, originally Take Your Time was going to layer with the chase themes of the Specimens, but I don't think that's possible in Game Maker sadly.

My best guess for how you got this working is that since normally taker appears after going AFK for 2 minutes. You changed that flag so that taker always assumes your AFK and also made it instakill
Basically, although there's a bit more to it than that. The Taker in Taker Mode is technically a completely separate object. The thing that spawns every Specimen, an object named random_monster_spawn, basically spawns the modded Taker at the start every room. Also, the Taker in this mod is slightly faster as well.
More precisely, taker always spawns 8 seconds after you enter a room, because otherwise it would appear in the doorway as you enter the next room, instakilling you
@@danielc2894 Good guess, but not quite right. Taker spawns 512 units to the west of the player. Because Taker moves at a speed of 60 units per second, it takes them 8.5 seconds to reach the player, assuming the player isn't moving.

i think the transition to sandwiches part could be a bit cleaner, its really sudden, even with the slow down.
Comments boost engagement, so that's not an issue unless you're spamming, which you aren't.
Anyway, I'm honestly not sure how I would make it less sudden since it's different in a lot of ways.

I think this song would fit PERFECTLY on Lap 8 song in Pizza Tower themes.
That being the Toppin Monster chasing you (also considering that from lap 7 to 8 there is a huge difficulty gap making it more intense) with that voice also saying Take to Death which also can give more anxiety since everyone alredy wants to kill you and the Toppin Monser is really the only one who can directly take a P rank away from you. I love this song and I am considering in changing my lap 8 song with it.

Maybe, although Story Mode is at least an hour play session. Usually people split it into two.

They could have an option or setting to do laps every 100/200 rooms, it has almost the same longevity feel as 1000 but the most important thing is that people don’t have to go through 1000 rooms every play-through to unlock more content. (this is if a lap feature is added)

Was gonna give the mod a shot only to realize the game doesn't really have, resolution, sound, mouse/sensitivity settings... got any tips on any of that? Googling attempts just bring up the HD game
Resolution can't really be helped because the resolution is set in every room. Non full-screen might be impossible. I have no clue about volume, I might be able to add that, but it's not super certain. Mouse sensitivity should be easy, I just need to add it.
As a temporary solution, you can use the os volume mixer on the game. That's about all I can offer though.
@@spooklass3588 Volume mixer only does so much to help (recording and other integrations don't receive the volume change, as an example) plus sometimes the game keeps the mouse glued to the center of the screen, but yeah, had thought of that.
Windowed mode is achievable by just F4, for what it's worth, but it's set to a fixed resolution; still playable and usable enough, though not ideal.
Either way, kudos for the rather quick response (and a begrudging thanks to TH-cam for having the notifications be _prompt_ for once instead of being delayed, if not missing entirely, as it does at times)
@@gaming_bigfoot That's fair. Unfortunately there's not much I can do since I'm not sure if Game Maker 8 can even do volume mixing. I'll see what I can do, since my latest mod has FOV config.
You should be able to press Alt+Enter in the main menu to not be in fullscreen, that works for me
