NIce! I just finished watching a lot of your 3.21 on the same build, ive done a bit of PoE before but never made it past act 2, with the disappointment that d4 was I'm really looking forward to trying this build for my first real season, thanks for the super in depth guides.
Alternatively I would recommend Explosive Arrow Champion/Elementalist. While the champ has better defensives, the elementalist has higher damage. Very solid at mapping but shines really in boss fights and has infinite scaling

I think this has been the smoothest league start I've ever had. There are other builds that I want to try but this just keeps on chugging a long so it's hard to stop myself from continuing to invest into it.
I normally don't pick a build until the last minute, but this may change that. I was thinking of minions (again) but I don't think it will play as well with the league mechanic as I think we'll want to be able to pick targets.
Built this using one of your earlier videos at the end of Crucible. Felt great to play, ridiculously smooth, crafting is super straightforward and had plenty of progression/room to grow. Highly recommend.
I'm not crazy about the push a button every 20 seconds for Adrenaline, but after simulating a league start on a bunch of other builds over the last few weeks, I think I'm just going to go with this. I did the raider version last league and loved it (I still might do the raider version for the perma-phasing). Thanks for all your hard work fuzzy and looking forward to the next few pieces of this guide to come out.
Looking forward to giving this a try. I wanted to play a bow build, but I need something tanky, because I'm not very good at the game :-( Have a great league start, everyone.
I made a huge mistake... I trialled this build pre-league, liked it, then league started something else. Didn't like it, tried something else. Didn't like that. Came back to this and bam... I'm melting everything at high pace. It's an amazing build, had taught me something about builds (there are so many nice 'jumps' in power), and made me realise being a popular youtuber doesn't make you a great builder!
Great Guide! This is the build I would have played in the gauntlet if I didn't force myself to play deadeye. You could path up to magebane, taking reflexes and sentinel. Probably around part 9 of your pob, so you get some resistances around the time you get hit by kitava's penalty
looks like a cool build for 3.24 BUT there is a spot in the video where he says we use "Molten Shell" on left mouse button "because we have no room" well that skill can no longer be used on left mouse button so you will need to figure out where to put that skill or wait for the creator to update it. I am sure it will be totally fine and still strong enough to league start, just keep this in mind
Hey, thanks for the guide ! Coming back to the game after a long time (last patch played was around 3.14) Discovering your channel and will use your build and some of your nice videos about Atlas strats :) Cheers to all in advance for the league :D
man, do i do this again. I loved RoA last time on raider. Imma throw this on the backburner if impending doom doesnt workout. Great guide as always Fuzz!
hello! Very excited to play this. Thank you so much. In the description area, you have two different places mentioning the written guide. One says coming soon and one gives a link to a written guide. I think the link may be to an older guide because it uses ballistas and not mana forged arrows, but I am not sure.
Thoughts on turning this into a heatshiver build? Added cold and lightning on the bow to get that third proc-scale as much cold damage as possible and since you are crit capped anyways the freeze chance will be 100%. RoA is hard to determine in pob but the numbers look pretty good!
I think you will struggle to get the damage numbers to freeze. Along with crit chance you have to deal a specific amount of damage in one go to freeze. I am not really sure of a way you would scale this enough to freeze enemies in tough content. Agree that RoA DPS is not the easiest to work out. I believe people have tested it and the average number of arrows that hit a standard target is 4 but I have no idea if this is true or not
@@FuzzyDuckzy You might have just saved me some pain haha! That makes a ton of sense...I have ~2div worth of gear for day 3 (maybe) and I'm sitting at just shy of 600k per arrow

It also gives you "free" aura, and its same 3 slot setup.
I might take a look at that. I don't normally include alt quality gems in guides as they can get very expensive if a lot of people end up following the build
@@FuzzyDuckzy makes sense, just try it out, Im wondering what you think - I was playing around with it in Standard, and even if using a regular Arrogance - you can fit Precision + Vitality 20/20 easy and it will be pretty much the same effect with 2 free auras but extra gem slot for second aura. Hey Fuzzy! I was wondering if you've made a MF rain of arrows build on either Champion or Raider? If so, how much item quantity did u run with, and how squishy did they feel? Dropped a sub, thx.
great video, thanks! I plan to start with TS this league by following your guide. I have lvl96 LA deadeye in crucible, but always want to try TS. Compared with champion, it is obviously less tanky. But from pushing to 2 viod stone perspective, which one you think is better?
@@FuzzyDuckzy thanks for replying! Based on your experience, what edps on bow you think would be enough to take down eater of world and searing exarch? 800?
Have you done a live evaluation of the trans gems? Some dude did some testing with the various gems and came to the conclusion that Saturation is about equal to base and that Artillery has more singletarget dmg. Thinking of starting ROA and later transitioning.
Artillery is awful for mapping. I don't like saturation as the clear is better but pretty sure the single target is worse because of the way the targeting works. I would just play normal. You also want the Vaal version which is much more difficult to get for transfigured gems
Ele reflect will kill you. When precise technique avoid less accuracy as this can brick your damage. They are the only mods you 100% cannot run. There are some horrible ones like reduced crit damage and reduced aura effect but they are runnable
Have you looked into EA builds able to transition into this? I feel like finding a smooth-ish transition from EA, would be really nice for pushing voidstones first, and being in a great position to map.
I think Poison SRS was pretty good last league, but I never really boss so might make this the league to give it a go. I am going to see what good builds there are on champion as at some point this league I want to make a zoomy wander so can turn this character into a bosser
I pretty much think every single build will go Maji for the first few days. I cannot really do anything yet as it is still not clear what sort of stuff we can get but will bring a video out a few days into the league with an update
Hi Fuzzy! Been a follower ever since I started playing 3.18 and your guides made my life easier! PoE > D4!!! jk Didn't want to stir things up. Just wanted to ask if the RoA league starter can easily transition to TS, LA, Iceshot or LS at the end? I personally didn't have fun using RoA when I tried it the last time, no offense. Overall, great guide as always!
Hey fuzzy thanks will try this. Looks great. I’m actually think of farming abit to convert to LS champ but the clear might be a problem, so thinking of putting the new return projectiles in to the 6 link- do you think it will be decent?
I probably wouldn't use that gem with LS as it uses a link and does nothing for the melee part. I think with a helm enchant for more projectiles, multishot on tree and pierce on tree or gear clear should be fine. If I do move from the RoA I think it will probably be LS too. It just needs a bit of currency for it to feel good so not sure at which point I would switch
@@FuzzyDuckzy thanks a lot man, in your experience how much dps was smooth for ls on paper for your previous league ls raider for general mapping ? Thank you for your guides too mate. I literally started playing in kalandra with your ls raider guide.
I watched ur RoA raider build from last league and how it was very strong and able to almost every content in the game (even when you did it on 1div), compare to this guide what would u say the pros and cons for raider vs champion, i know that raider specialty is going fast and champ is being tanky, but i'd like to hear from you on this topic to help decide whether to go raider or champ
I tried Steel Skills and really did not like them, but if you prefer it then go for it. They are both pretty similar in terms of DPS although with bows you get ballistas too
hey man, appriciate all the work you have done and i actually just tried your pathfinder RoA, what is the biggest differences between the two in your opinion? maybe some pro/cons? you say in the text that it will make you a bit more tanky, will that also mean less dmg?
Damage is pretty even. Raider probably has a bit more damage when geared up, but champion has a lot more defences and still has enough dps. The main reason to go raider would be if you wanted to switch to tornado shot deadeye later on
It would be ok at best I would think. Attack elemental builds are not amazing at log books because it limits a lot of the remnants you can take. Block is a problem unless you can get a mastery to stop enemies blocking, but I do not think we take the major nodes that lead to these. You also have to be careful about what elemental resist remnants you take as this could brick your trinity. It could do it, but I would think a build that can nullify more of the remnants would be better
Hey Fuzzy, great guide. In the "end game" gear section it looks like your main skill is ice shot, I'm not expecting a super indepth response but how was it? I plan on playing RoA and then transition into LA as I feel champ isn't great for TS. Any inputs on LA/Ice shot as champ would be great! thanks
Ignore the skills in that bit this was me testing other skills and they didn’t really work 😁 I didn’t love lightning arrow either but probably had it set up wrong. I felt LA was better that’s ice shot
I don't delve very often but I would think it would comfortably handle 200-300. It has high evasion, armour, with a few tweaks you can fully cap spell suppression and it has good recovery with leech.
Do you think going armor/evasion bases with determination and three step assault boots would be reasonable to do? (oops sorry meant to ask on Raider build)
If you can get enough armour to make it worthwhile I think it is an idea. It is just hard to scale armour enough to make it good. However a combination of arm/eva, Phys taken as ele (body armour and helmet) would make you more tanky overall
There are no amazing bows but doomfletch will make levelling and early maps a breeze. Especially if you get jewellery with flat physical damage. Pair this with a Prismweave Belt and a Tasalio's sign ring and you should pretty much one shot everything.
Hi, short question: Is it possible to transition this one like Raider into TS or an Ice Shot or even LA Build? Because I guess I will get bruned ot from RoA fast. I like to zoom around with something like TS or LS. I played your Ls Raider last time. And it was amazing. This one looks crazy, too. Are there any option to get away from RoA after 2 watchstones and a little bit of currency?
Champion would take quite of investment to get TS to feel good. You would need to farm a lot of divines to switch. Raider still works and should be an update coming up for that soon
Eventually you will be ailment capped through boots and ancestral vision. Before that you take the pantheon for cannot be frozen, you get cannot be chilled on boots and take Gruthkul minor pantheon to get 60% reduced effect of shock. I don't worry about ignites as there are not many big ones in the game and in my opinion is not worth sacrificing affixes on our gear. This should be good enough until you have the currency for a permanent fix
Hello! I followed your VLS raider in scourge league and it was blast. Im looking for kinda one per league char and my aim is to do all normal non uber content + like 38 challenges alone (not ssf but I dont want to buy any carries etc). Would you recommend me this build? I dont mind to farm and dump some currency to it as times goes (Im not super fast so I dont expect to hit exarcheater on day one). ALso how do you expect this build will do new league mechanic (I know we knew basically nothing but I guess tanky = good for it?) Thanks a lot for your content ;)
If you want to play one build I would maybe pick another build. This might struggle for 38 challenges if there are ones related to Uber content or super hard invitations..
Should I run this or should I do Slayer Boneshatter? How can this be scaled further? Is this headhunter/omni viable or would that hit the defensive layers too much?
I would pick the build you think you can enjoy. This build is not really one I would look to min max I just wanted a nice build to farm with for the first week of the league
@@FuzzyDuckzy All fair. I have levelled two RoA this league and it is a breeze to get through the acts. While I really love to map primarily, at times I also want to do something else and I just have an interest in getting a bit more out of, even if it is overkill more often than not. I imagine RoA to be better suited for Legion while Boneshatter might be better for Delirium?
Works great but I'm having trouble leveling "corrupted fever" because of not enough strenght. I'm almost at 2k life and it's only doing 600dmg to myself at lvl7.
@@FuzzyDuckzy I've just done my crit swap and have an open 6-link for my Ballistas. What would you recommend? Elemental Focus Support or also Increased Crit Support?
As someone who is very fumbly with clicking things every X seconds: would you recommend to choose Champ or Raider? I tend to panic a lot and mash buttons/flasks ad nauseam, will I end up killing my champ over and over again? p.s. THANK YOU for amazing guides, I love PoE but I also need step by step guides and this is pure perfection.
If you do not have enough life to use corrupting fever it will not let you use it. You do have to be careful to only use it when it can activate adrenaline but it is quite hard to kill yourself If you are worried about it you can go Raider it is a very good build. It is easier, but does lack the defensive layers of champ.
I think you will need extremely good gear to switch to another bow build especially with VC nerf. You could probably do TS as a mapper but would need to put chain in your links which will hurt the dps. You could probably do a bleed bow build once you can afford the glad blood pop jewels but no idea if the dps on this build is still any good and snipe feels super clunky to me
I think Champ is slightly better mainly due to the defences, but Raider gives you the option of changing to a deadeye build later on. Tanu Ahi gloves work great on the Raider and is something I would definitely use as you can drop the onslaught ascendancy and go frenzy charges. Follow this kind of setup if you go Raider as this worked great on a budget. At league start it will obviously be more expensive but should still be affordable. Written Guide and POB from RoA Raider 3.21 will still be fine to guide you through levelling th-cam.com/video/zybxTL_tR28/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! I always have really clunky league starts so I'm looking forward to following your guide. Really enjoy your content, best poe content out there imo.
They are probably all too expensive to be worth it for this build in all honesty. They both seem like they would be good if you wanted to push the build. I have never used fatal flourish though so do not know much about it, but the price + 2 jewel sockets make it probably not worth while
I think Raider Scales better as you can stack frenzies and your gearing is a little bit easier. I am not sure there is that much difference though I think it really depends on what class you prefer playing. Raider has the added bonus in that you can respec to deadeye if you wanted to then make a juicer bow build
Take is a soon as you have the accuracy to. Depending how much you level it will be act 2 or 3. It doesn't really matter as long as you take it around act 2/3
Hello sir, I see you have a raider and champion version of this build, and I couldn't find a comparison between the 2. Other than champ being tankier and raider being faster, is there any other difference? Maybe raider has better single target?
You could run a gull you would just take the life mastery that skills use a % of life instead of mana. You would also need to make sure that if you are running a manaforged arrow setup that dropping this does not ruin this setup as this needs to ideally be 33% of Mana cost of your main skill to make it optimal
Thank you! I really want to try the gull, and it provide alot of tankiness, speed and dmg. Optimal for a map clearer! Love your content btw! @@FuzzyDuckzy

@@FuzzyDuckzy Very cool, thanks for the guide m8!!
Are you going to give this a 3.23 update with Wildwood Ascendancy recommendations and so on?
I pretty much think every single build will go Maji for the first few days. I cannot really do anything yet as it is still not clear what sort of stuff we can get but will bring a video out a few days into the league with an update
@@FuzzyDuckzy Sounds good man, appreciate it!
ive been waiting for this thanks man, i got a question tho would bleed be better than elemental you think?
I wouldn't have thought so Phys damage is much harder to scale but I've not seriously looked at it
Hi, very great vidoe and build guide, can you please tell me this build is viable to farm legion/expeditions at early leauge days ?
Legion you might need to take the new keystone as it's not the quickest screen clearing build. I'm sure if well enough geared it could do both
I tried LA and Ice shot once geared and they worked fine. TS probably not as you need chain. lightning strike and frost blades should work too
Hey fuzzy thanks will try this.
Will be a video up shortly on the topic
Hi! Why not splitting steel - chance to bleed - chance to poison until lv.12? Galvanic meh
I tried Steel Skills and really did not like them, but if you prefer it then go for it. They are both pretty similar in terms of DPS although with bows you get ballistas too
Would you recommend using your 3.22 Bow Levelling Filter with other bow builds as well, like LA Deadeye?
Yeah it doesn't do much just shows links for bow builds and a few bases
hey man, appriciate all the work you have done and i actually just tried your pathfinder RoA, what is the biggest differences between the two in your opinion? maybe some pro/cons? you say in the text that it will make you a bit more tanky, will that also mean less dmg?
Damage is pretty even. Raider probably has a bit more damage when geared up, but champion has a lot more defences and still has enough dps. The main reason to go raider would be if you wanted to switch to tornado shot deadeye later on
i see, but at that point, tornado, you can more or less just make a new char and gear him up i assume?@@FuzzyDuckzy
Heyo, thanks for the guide! Do you think this is a good league starter to farm logbooks early on?
It would be ok at best I would think. Attack elemental builds are not amazing at log books because it limits a lot of the remnants you can take. Block is a problem unless you can get a mastery to stop enemies blocking, but I do not think we take the major nodes that lead to these. You also have to be careful about what elemental resist remnants you take as this could brick your trinity. It could do it, but I would think a build that can nullify more of the remnants would be better
@@FuzzyDuckzy Alright :D Thanks for the quick reply! 👍
Thank you for not making a mine league starter!!!!!!!!!!
I always end up in Delve so I guess we'll see how deep we can take this build.
Im not sure if you have answered this but how does this compare to raider?
I like Champ better, but I do feel Raider is more fun. I would probably play Raider if I wanted to then transition to a deadeye later on
What is your experience delving with this build?
I don't delve very often but I would think it would comfortably handle 200-300. It has high evasion, armour, with a few tweaks you can fully cap spell suppression and it has good recovery with leech.
Do you think going armor/evasion bases with determination and three step assault boots would be reasonable to do? (oops sorry meant to ask on Raider build)
If you can get enough armour to make it worthwhile I think it is an idea. It is just hard to scale armour enough to make it good. However a combination of arm/eva, Phys taken as ele (body armour and helmet) would make you more tanky overall
Great vid, thanks!
Can you fit MF gear pieces later on at t16s?
I would think boots, flask and ventors gambles could be fitted until the build with a few adjustments
@@FuzzyDuckzy Great, Thanks!
As I will start late (tuesday) and maybe interesting for others too: are there any unique bows to look out for during leveling?
There are no amazing bows but doomfletch will make levelling and early maps a breeze. Especially if you get jewellery with flat physical damage. Pair this with a Prismweave Belt and a Tasalio's sign ring and you should pretty much one shot everything.
Thanks again. Nice too see someone as commited to his builds. Replying to that many comments is a lot of work. Helps casual players like me a lot.
Hey brother its me again xD , i just saw now we still useing point blank >< tought we wont be useing this again -.-" dang..
@@FuzzyDuckzythanks! I will wait for the update then.
Possible to play it as RoA Ballista with Wilmas and change the three slightly?
Could then swap to Artillery Ballista for harder bosses as well.
I have no idea to be honest. I would think just going shrapnel ballistas would probably be better as think RoA would lack damage in a totem.
will you release a crafting guide for this baby ?? or perhaps it is similar to raider ??
This video should still be fine as nothing has changed since last league
th-cam.com/video/S-N_edaCT74/w-d-xo.html
Great build! But what to do with Shock and Ignite? We have only 20% avoid chance.
Look for heavy belts and if you need to take one of the +30 Strength nodes
@@FuzzyDuckzy thanks!
@@FuzzyDuckzy I've just done my crit swap and have an open 6-link for my Ballistas. What would you recommend?
Elemental Focus Support or also Increased Crit Support?
@@VollKaracho209 never run ele focus if you are crit. I would put crit damage in
As someone who is very fumbly with clicking things every X seconds: would you recommend to choose Champ or Raider? I tend to panic a lot and mash buttons/flasks ad nauseam, will I end up killing my champ over and over again?
p.s. THANK YOU for amazing guides, I love PoE but I also need step by step guides and this is pure perfection.
If you do not have enough life to use corrupting fever it will not let you use it. You do have to be careful to only use it when it can activate adrenaline but it is quite hard to kill yourself
If you are worried about it you can go Raider it is a very good build. It is easier, but does lack the defensive layers of champ.
@@FuzzyDuckzy Thanks, buddy! This will help me make up my mind before Friday
Mirage Archer doesn't work with the Vaal Rain of Arrows skill gem, any thoughts on what to swap that support out for?
It works it just doesn’t proc off the Vaal version which doesn’t really matter since 99% of the time you are using the normal version
Would this be a nice build to change to Lightning Strike once you get some currency up and running?
Yes if you like lightning strike it would be pretty nice on a champ
Are there any recommendations for changing out of ROA while still being champ? While staying bow build once you have most of the gear from ROA still?
I think you will need extremely good gear to switch to another bow build especially with VC nerf. You could probably do TS as a mapper but would need to put chain in your links which will hurt the dps. You could probably do a bleed bow build once you can afford the glad blood pop jewels but no idea if the dps on this build is still any good and snipe feels super clunky to me
hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to change the game to tornado shot and if it would be possible to get some hints
I wouldn't do champion tornado shot. It's just way inferior and much more expensive than deadeye
can you use herald of ice while chill maping for eye catching effect?
Not really as you would have to drop a 50%
I mean you can if you want but I wouldn’t recommend it
Any thoughts on pro/cons trying to pick between this and the raider version? Anyone tried tanu ahi on raider version?
I think Champ is slightly better mainly due to the defences, but Raider gives you the option of changing to a deadeye build later on. Tanu Ahi gloves work great on the Raider and is something I would definitely use as you can drop the onslaught ascendancy and go frenzy charges. Follow this kind of setup if you go Raider as this worked great on a budget. At league start it will obviously be more expensive but should still be affordable. Written Guide and POB from RoA Raider 3.21 will still be fine to guide you through levelling
th-cam.com/video/zybxTL_tR28/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! I always have really clunky league starts so I'm looking forward to following your guide. Really enjoy your content, best poe content out there imo.
idk if you wouold see this but would the champ version still be good for 3.23? Im kinda interested in the Champion route
Hey. Yes the champ version will still operate exactly the same.
is fatal flourish good with this build? and what do u think of vaal pact + brutal fervour?
They are probably all too expensive to be worth it for this build in all honesty. They both seem like they would be good if you wanted to push the build. I have never used fatal flourish though so do not know much about it, but the price + 2 jewel sockets make it probably not worth while
In Trade League I am really torn between Champ and Raider on this one. Does Raider just scale better with costs to defences?
I think Raider Scales better as you can stack frenzies and your gearing is a little bit easier. I am not sure there is that much difference though I think it really depends on what class you prefer playing. Raider has the added bonus in that you can respec to deadeye if you wanted to then make a juicer bow build
How is this build in expedition content? in 2-5 div range lets say? (of we ignoring the immune to phys rem)
Depends what tier of maps. I don’t run expedition so can’t say for sure but I can’t see it being a problem
I'm in doubt between blade vortex, spark, and rain of arrows, choicesssss
All good to be fair I would just go with the one you think will be the most fun
The written guide says we get point blank at end of act 2 but the pob doesn't allocate it until later. Which one's the updated guide?
Take is a soon as you have the accuracy to. Depending how much you level it will be act 2 or 3. It doesn't really matter as long as you take it around act 2/3
Hello sir, I see you have a raider and champion version of this build, and I couldn't find a comparison between the 2.
Other than champ being tankier and raider being faster, is there any other difference? Maybe raider has better single target?
Raider is faster as you can stack frenzies champ is tankier. Dps wise they are pretty similar
looks cool, how does it handle legion?
I've not tried it. The build should be ok but not amazing since it lacks screen wide clear.
How important is the mana cost explicit on the helmet? Can you run this build with the gull?
You could run a gull you would just take the life mastery that skills use a % of life instead of mana. You would also need to make sure that if you are running a manaforged arrow setup that dropping this does not ruin this setup as this needs to ideally be 33% of Mana cost of your main skill to make it optimal
Thank you! I really want to try the gull, and it provide alot of tankiness, speed and dmg. Optimal for a map clearer! Love your content btw! @@FuzzyDuckzy
