I have a signed by Ralph Martin himself copy of Fulfillment of All Desire. I just had to brag!! Not an easy book to read but so worth it. Definitely a book to plan on reading more than once.
Fulfillment of all desire is soooo huge. Intimidating. I seem to not have time to be reading a lot. I am older, slower and need to fit so much into my day. Hard. Maybe I need to do things while listening to it audio?
I really admire folks who read a lot, I end up reading the same paragraph over and over and over again, and it still doesn't make sense 😒. I buy the book and it looks nice on the shelf, but it doesn't get completed.
Try reading "How to read a book" by Adler or a platonic dialogue by Peter Kreeft because those dialogues are entertaining. I loved "a refutation of moral relativism."
A friend of mine had a black book sitting on top of his coffee table and the cover said "Church Of Satan" on it. I just stared at it and was afraid to pick it up...to touch it..to read any part of it....He noticed me looking at it and noticed my hesitation. I picked it up, and I was shaking and could feel my anxiety and fear rising....I opened the book and I read one sentence. I immediately put it back down. We discussed a bit about it and about ..my background being baptized Catholic. I still have not read that book since. ...This was over 10 years ago.
I’m struggling now with the whole idea of St. John of the cross and getting rid of all my faults and it’s causing me to be irritable from morning till night and causing me all kinds of anxiety do you have any suggestions to help me get rid of this anxiety because he says we can’t have union in Christ until we get rid of it all but that’s all it’s doing is causing me more stress and then it doubles my faults.
Thank you for this video. I have read the Bible twice and now listening to Father Schmitz “Bible in a year.” I’m always in search of a good book read. But nothing seems to interest me. And if I do pick up something it’s usually a non fiction ( Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand is awesome on audiobook) or fantasy like Lord of the rings or Narnia. Also loving “Anne with an E” was showing on PBS based on Anne of Green Gables. Definitely going to get the 3 books Father Schmitz talked about. Any other recommendations are appreciated.

The bible book - a compendium of folk tales and fables! Tales recounted orally for generations by primitive tribes from the stone ages. This is the Old Testament The new Testes is hearsay, since these gospels were written by the faithful. There are no gods!
