I grew up with an alcoholic ex-military father who beat me and whipped me where i had scabs on my legs and back and had to wear pants in summer so no one would see what hed done and I never knew what a normal family was supposed to look like... I raised a daughter as a single dad. I used to feel guilty, as well, for "going out to explore the creek" with my daughter. We did a lot of fun stuff and I treasure all those memories. But looking back, my only regret is that we did not do even more fun stuff together.
I like the 'Cat Cave' - good job, Josh! ONE suggested improvement: A battery-powered, motion-activated light, attached with double-sided tape, on the underside of the cat box itself. Cat will be able to see where it wants to go....... Did this on our cat box. Cats appreciate it.

Yes, I'd like seeing a tour of your finished home. I'm also curious how you finished the trim on the right side of the kitchen counter, I don't recall seeing your solution to that puzzle. If I remember correctly there was a discrepancy between the length of the counter top and the wall to the right of it, the placement of the wall trim/faux beam. Word of advice place a piece of artificial turf in the bottom of the cat cave that way when the cat gets out of the litter what litter that is left on the cats paws will fall off into the turf and you can carry it outside once a month and shake it off.
Well done to both of u for ur final finish job, I think I just have another idea for u both, how about building a pool where the river runs down the stream or the mountain? Just don't block the water, but let it fill up then overflow as u get clean water all the time? Lovely family, thanks for sharing ur skills and examples with us.

Yes, I'd like seeing a tour of your finished home. I'm also curious how you finished the trim on the right side of the kitchen counter, I don't recall seeing your solution to that puzzle. If I remember correctly there was a discrepancy between the length of the counter top and the wall to the right of it, the placement of the wall trim/faux beam. Thank you for sharing your life adventures with us!

Word of advice place a piece of artificial turf in the bottom of the cat cave that way when the cat gets out of the litter what litter that is left on the cats paws will fall off into the turf and you can carry it outside once a month and shake it off.

Well done to both of u for ur final finish job, I think I just have another idea for u both, how about building a pool where the river runs down the stream or the mountain?
