My husband and I were just a little older than John when we built the home we live in now. Our dream home has been our greatest success in our lifetime. We are very near retirement and we have a pond with fish and beautiful trees a small cabin by the pond. We would get laughed out of the county if we called our six acres a farm but it is a perfect home for us and our three generations below us. Our grandchildren learned to drive many pieces of heavy equipment as we developed and bear bit of farm land into what it is today. Seeing your boys so excited about driving is a reminder to me about years gone by (the turn of the century was our build start). We are so grateful to God for his many blessings He granted us. I know I say it so often but I have to say it again, the attitude of the Portuguese workmen towards Crusoe and Sawyer is just beautiful to see, and honestly is something that the UK could do with lessons in. I think its absolutely wondeful the way Mario allows the boys to ride with him on the digger ...i can remember the joy of driving with my dad on a combine harvester and the tractors on our farm in South Africa when I was growing up...such great times and treasured memories of a very special childhood . @TheNewbys It really matters. We planted 49 trees last year on out land and documented most of what we did and the one day my son (16) said " so I can put swings on these trees for my kids.." I damn near burst into tears.
You are both great parents and I enjoy very much watching your videos. It might be of help if you show the physical presence of an adult next to the children holding hands when you are filming them (Obi with a lead) and standing further away from the heavy and active machinery. Viewers are probably concerned that you might not be at their reach promptly enough if you are needed for their safety while you’re filming. Best wishes for 2025 !

You have just so much going on, what a lot of noise! But what a lot of excitement with it. I've seen a hall being built and was surprised how soon the walls went up, but the main part of building is all that goes into making that shell into a real building. An old tradition is 'Topping Out'. This is where the walls are built up to roof level and an occasion to celebrate. I think the walls really need the old stone layer to them before they count as built though. I love to watch the boys being involved and am really impressed that your builders understand the importance of that.

I am so impressed that you could do a video in this turmoil....And also letting the bojs come in on the site for a while, then back up behind the fence. As you , dear John, mentioned, that the workers are so generous with there time, and maybe slow down a bit, and avoid heavy lifts, etc,when the kids are around......I think the bojs love this hustle and bustle, and Crusoe always get a truck lift, but I guess that Sawyer also will follow, one of these days.....Maybe Mauri might get a bigger digger wiv place for two interested young boys, who know...? The big stone stairs looks impressive, and once the sides will be ready, it will be grand !!! Hope you get the biopool ready for the winter rains too.....Lets hope that the added price is reasonable, and that you soon get the dokuments regarding the addition property. Amazing actions all around, and I can well imagine that its very stressful, but also fun and interesting, watching your future house growing....The UK filmteam still on site? Did not see them on this video. I assume that it will be shown in England primary, but you2 will aff carse tell us..... As here, I shoveled three hours yesterday, than the temp rose to +4 next day, so the most snow melted, haha...My Skoda, with the "new" motor runs good, and the daylight is slowly increasing..... Tara try to minimize your stress by remembering that the more workers on site means that the work is well coordinated thus going quicker. When it does get to be too much grab those adorable boys and go for a walk; that’s what I did, especially the time a large piece of plaster fell on me and into my coffee😂. It will all be so worth it in the end. 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦

You are managing everything so beautifully. I’d have trouble sleeping with the over stimulation. Thinking of sleep, how did the boys beds turn out? Can you imagine what these beautiful, curious, well exposed to projects, boys will grow up to be? Architects? Builders? Stone masons? The skies the limit! John, happy you found your shoes. You have just so much going on, what a lot of noise! But what a lot of excitement with it.
I've seen a hall being built and was surprised how soon the walls went up, but the main part of building is all that goes into making that shell into a real building.
An old tradition is 'Topping Out'. This is where the walls are built up to roof level and an occasion to celebrate. I think the walls really need the old stone layer to them before they count as built though.
I love to watch the boys being involved and am really impressed that your builders understand the importance of that.
Another beautiful and eventful episode!!! You have such a wonderful work crew. Mario is such a valuable member of your family!!! The look on your boys' faces when the digger is coming is priceless. It make me smile for the rest of my day.😊❤

Already building walls, that was quick!! I am so impressed that you could do a video in this turmoil....And also letting the bojs come in on the site for a while, then back up behind the fence. As you , dear John, mentioned, that the workers are so generous with there time, and maybe slow down a bit, and avoid heavy lifts, etc,when the kids are around......I think the bojs love this hustle and bustle, and Crusoe always get a truck lift, but I guess that Sawyer also will follow, one of these days.....Maybe Mauri might get a bigger digger wiv place for two interested young boys, who know...?
The big stone stairs looks impressive, and once the sides will be ready, it will be grand !!! Hope you get the biopool ready for the winter rains too.....Lets hope that the added price is reasonable, and that you soon get the dokuments regarding the addition property. Amazing actions all around, and I can well imagine that its very stressful, but also fun and interesting, watching your future house growing....The UK filmteam still on site? Tara try to minimize your stress by remembering that the more workers on site means that the work is well coordinated thus going quicker. When it does get to be too much grab those adorable boys and go for a walk; that’s what I did, especially the time a large piece of plaster fell on me and into my coffee😂. It will all be so worth it in the end. 🇨🇦❤️🇨🇦
