The Great Spark of Genius!!! and The Conscious Mind to Bear Witness to what is capable of being accomplished. Thank You!!! Sir Glenn Curtiss for your contributions to Humanity!!!
My Grandpa, (father's father), knew Glenn Curtiss. I wouldn't say they were friends, but I think they were on a 1st name basis. Grandpa was a machinist so maybe some connection that way. Somewhere between the mid-30's and mid-40's grandpa bought a Jenny. Sadly it was lost in a hangar fire before grandpa could make much money barnstorming. Kinda cool having a family tie to such a remarkable man.
There were a lot of pioneers making progress in those days. The Wrights did what they did, made the earliest and most “practical” powered flights. But if you are looking for who was made the most significant advancements aviation; Louis Blériot in Europe and Glenn Curtis in the Americas.
Think what more they could have accomplished if the Wrights and Curtiss weren't involved in all those lawsuits? What a waste of time, money and resources.

And Gustave Whitehead who flew before the very WRONG BROTHERS did it in 1901 in Bridgeport Connecticut.
