I was fortunate enough to have a buddy halfway around the world trust me with repairing his, and these bags are so amazing. The texture of the laminate is so smooth and leathery. I also noticed that the bag is actually closer to 46cm wide and not 42 as it says on the acrnm website, which makes a big difference for how easy it is to get a laptop in and out. Idk how this gonna come out but im tryna make my own messenger bag inspiring in the acronym bag lineup, since j cant afford one yet, are there any tips or insight you could give me about the bag, or the pattern, etc
Hey goon, morty, aka Matt! I need your advice on getting which acronym bag to grab- I’m torn between the 3A-1 or the 3A-3Ts. I know each one has theirs strengths and I wanted to hear which one you’d suggest I grab. 3A-1 being iconic and having all the basic necessities on a bag or the customization of 3Ts with its mollywebbing details options. Could really use your opinion and thoughts on each one. Appreciate it! 🙏🙏🙏
Hey Kristopher! Sorry for the very late response. Having owned both, it really comes down to whether or not you prioritize customizability, or you think the 3a-1's layout is all you need. For me personally? I think that the pocket layout with the 3a-1 is the best you can get. The mezzanine pockets on the 3a-1 are the subtle banger for me, and weirdly enough, the best selling point for the bag overall. While I owned my 3TS, I really loved how I could move around mods I owned, and, I loved how I was able to get a TON of stuff onto the front face of the bag. On top of that, because of the stripped back nature, you're also paying a bit less for that variant. However, I found that the modularity on the front could end up looking really busy at times, which was a little bit bothersome, AND, the convenience of the mezzanine pockets on the 3a-1 was too captivating for me to not have. hope that's of some help! You're getting a great bag one way or the other.
Goon hey Goon! Thanks for reply, I couldn’t have agreed with you more regarding the mezzanine pockets!!! I personally feel that the pocket we’re enough for 3A-1 even though the customizability in 3Ts is strongest and most compelling selling point but this could get costly. Your point with it being too busy is 💯 accurate. I did want to give it that unique look with patches and my own pockets but once again cost and aesthetics. Thanks again for the in-depth review and breakdown of both bags! Appreciate it- I think I’m gonna go with the classic 3A-1 appreciate it!

@Goon Do you think 16 inch macbook pro would fit in this bag? I am considering either this or 3a-5TS since they are both available for purchase on Acronym website. IMO definitely this one looks a lot better than 3a-5TS.. but I am not sure if this can hold my fatass 16 inch macbook pro.
At some point in the future? Most likely. It's their bread and butter bag so it's inevitable. When is another question, which I can't answer :P. 3a-1's semi-consistently pop up on the second hand market however, and I recommend keeping an eye on places like Grailed in particular, as well as Jawnflip, and other websites where this stuff circulates pretty frequently.
depends. The older Cordura/xpac versions tend to be on the "cheaper" side going anywhere between 6-800. Newer ones tend to go for retail or slightly below. Laminate versions are the ones that sit above retail cuz of their rarer/condition dependent nature.
The buckles on the are actually spanish buckles, not nexus buckles, just nitpicking I think I have watched this video 5 times now
Thank you for the clarification! Always thought that classification was a little bit off, even though they do show up when you put in nexus buckles.
These buckles actually seem to be replicated/ harvested from German flecktarn mag poches but are functionally equivalent to a Spanish buckle
Line I/O subsystem is basically the 3 holes you can feed a cable/wire through 1 on each interior main pocket and 1 on the exterior.
