    Having owned a lot of Acronym over the years, if I were to sell everything off, the 3A-1 would easily be the thing I'd keep.
    It was my daily driver for when I'd commute to the office up until I started working from home, and its form fitting nature made it absolutely perfect for being on crowded subways and metros as opposed to the fairly bulky backpack I was using beforehand. I could gush about every single feature, but you covered it thoroughly in your video.

      Thanks! Great to hear you've got on so well with it. Honestly heard nothing but positive reviews from 3A-1 owners so didn't feel like picking one up was much of a risk

    I love the styling with just a t-shirt too, fills the sartorial space of a utility vest or a shoulder-slung bumbag. The way it hugs the body is definitely the best aesthetic feature in a messenger style bag I've seen. It's a brilliant detail that I think was why it was so copied in the first place, even if the other features are well thought-through, the wrap around is the most innovative and eye-catching. It was fun to see something close to Ant's EDC.

    As a bag I will use for the rest of my life, I feel the price is totally justified. Another awesome thing which people may not notice is that the bag when worn with an Acronym jacket (particularly the J1 models) sits so that it lines up cleanly with the jacket pocket, so there's no obstruction. When I noticed that subtle design that really made me excited!

    How other workwear besides cargo pants might fit in. Durable fabrics, freedom of motion, pockets. I like Duluth Trading.

    There was 1 further thing about the 3A-1 I didn't mention - personally I haven't found much use for the side zip for the main compartment yet. Partly because it's so easy to get to the top one and partly because it's not that easy to fully undo due to the shape of the bottom of the bag. That said if anyone's made good use of that feature definitely let me know - maybe there's just something I'm missing.

    • @Mazzah96
      @Mazzah96 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I mentioned this in my video, but, if you find yourself wanting to grab something out of the bottom of the bag while things are stacked on top, you can utilize this side zip to get to those items without pulling everything out. The instance I found myself using this in the most was to get my thermos out of the bottom of my bag, and other things of a similar size.

    I picked up the black matte xpac version early this year and absolutely no regrets. I find an 11” iPad Pro fits nicely and isn’t too heavy with a padded sleeve, but agree anything larger would be better in a backpack. Overall the look and design of the bag is tops

    I'm a manybagger & I must say that the 3A-1 (2021 ver) is 1 of my most used casual bags, other than my Sealson 3-way messenger (should check it out, really unique design from Taiwan). I find myself using the mezzanine quick dump pockets waaaay more because of the convenience & the strap design is hands-down the best, like it more than my Orbitgear ones

    I recommend the Helikon Wombat as an affordable alternative. It has a similar silhouette of a massenger bag without a flap and with external pockets (2 on the front and 2 on the sides). Its build out of Cordura 500D, every zipper is YKK and the ones on the outside of the bag are double sided.

    • @Meg_A_Byte
      @Meg_A_Byte 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That bag seems very bulky and not ideal for carrying just a few items. It's a very different kind of bag. But you'll most probably get good value for that money.

    • @przemysawseredyszyn1405
      @przemysawseredyszyn1405 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Meg_A_Byte Wombat looks bulky in the pictures because it's packed to the fullest while 3A is almost empty in most pictures. Wombats side pockets also dont help with that bulky look. But if you look at the size listed at the producers websites (in cm - the sizing in inches on helikons site is wrong) 3A is actually bigger (at least in 2D - Acronym doesnt list the third size nor its capacity).

    I had one for a year or 2, actually one very similar to the one in the vid. I ended up selling it, pretty much for retail price, so not complaining too much about that part.
    - I came to hate the spanish buckles. they are some pretty flimsy pieces of plastic, they don't feel like something that should be on a $1000 bag. It would still feel cheap and unwieldy on a $100 bag. They aren't easy to operate and feel like they will break at any time.
    - the bag was just a little bit too small for my day to day uses.

    Is it a fake pocket? You don't have to unstrap/strap to access it. That's the first pocket I would use for my quick grab stuff so I don't have to unsling it.

    Very cool bag BUT,if you are on a budget, this is clearly utilizing military tech and, therefore, you could find similar products via milsurp sites like Varustaleka. I bought a like new German gasmask bag for like 30bucks ,heavy duty, waterproof with a unique rool top and single rubber strap. Shaped like a box with both ends of the shoulder strap attaching to the back side making it easy to access while still wearing it. Brilliant little piece of gear that is completely original.

    Hey man, just got turned on to your channel. Awesome videos. Early on you mentioned the cargo styling of this bag. Speaking of cargos, do you know how I could add a zipper taper to the legs of a pair of straight leg cargos that will make them tapered when zipped, but when unzipped, the pant leg is still closed and returned to is original shape, like pants from Reindee Lusion such as the Steven cargos? I've seen a lot of videos that show you how to make a tapered or straight pant into bootcuts with a zipper, but not the other way around, at least not in a way that doesn't expose the leg. Thanks a lot.

      It physically does but I wouldn't recommend you use it for a laptop as it's totally unpadded and affects the shape of the bag (i.e. it won't wrap nicely around the body). However they literally just dropped the 3A-13TS which is designed specifically for 13" laptops and a much better choice for that!

      Acronym is considered a luxury brand. In the realm of luxury the pricing is a drop in the bucket considering a simple cotton graphic tee can run you a grand from any designer brand. You can totally make yourself the bag, there are patterns everywhere for it as long as you disregard IP. No one is pointing a gun at you to purchase this bag, its a luxury good not a common necessity . Comments like yours are a dime a dozen and its honestly just irritating and naive so please refrain from it cause no one cares if you can afford or justify purchasing something, thats on you.
