Coming from a third-year arm wrestler, any heavy shoulder work, you're going to need more time between before you hit that again. Same thing with any heavy elbow flexor work. Isolation helps with over training. Also eat a ton of protein. This really helps with recovery. Especially with pain. Take a few days off if you're in pain. If that doesn't help, then take 2 weeks off with zero gym or table time. If that doesn't work, you need an MRI.
One of the biggest reasons people grow so hard on PEDS, is simply much faster muscle recovery time. With a high enough dose, you can pretty much train to failure every single day. As a natty... you will need rest for sure. Especially, as you grow older. Diet and sleep obviously also play a huge role, go higher in protein and omega3 fats. If you get a disease or even a cold. Muscle recovery will be slower. This is not just from my experience, but also research.
this is so important. I wish this could be explained very specifically. Recovery is one thing I've never gotten better at because I'm so stubborn about pushing myself to my limits and, like they said, I end up injured, getting weaker, or plateauing and never seeing any improvement. Because I want to be a ninja, I want everything. I want to be fast, strong, flexible, enduring, etc so i want to go hard on my legs and hard on my arms and hard on my abs and hard on my lats etc... but in one week it's a LOT of stuff that it is so draining and taxing that I don't improve. I try to cram it all into a block and I try to make it give me everything. Like explosive deadlifts so i can jump higher and super heavy squats to assist. I'm training the speed, the strength all on the same day etc. I don't know how to regulate the training so that i make progress instead of just overloading myself. How can i get stronger and better at everything at the same time? How much do I need to do? How can my CNS recover if I have to do a diff body part every day? It's very confusing but this is really important to figure out right now so i can do it in a way that works.
U can work out everyday if you're on GEAR and not maxing heavy loads, which is what Devon does. He basically does crazy volume and PEDs help with recovery. Other people trying to immitate this find benefits only to a certain extent but will probably harm themselves if pushing it to the extreme.
@@Coco.Bakting14 so by that you mean blocks of varying intensity workouts over a month or 2? I always hear that in one block you'll be doing strength, in another hypertrophy, in another endurance or explosiveness etc but that you'll never be able to have all of those attributes at the same time. That you can never train for everything at the same time. Is this how you experience it too?
Nutrition is huge when it comes to developing strength. Unless you give your body the building blocks it needs to recover, you will not get stronger and may actually get weaker.
Radio silence. It's a shame Ray, I liked you a lot for being the funniest and most charismatic dude on armwrestling. Even Devon came straight, and apologiezed, and I wasn't expecting him to do it. You should do the same, man. Best of luck from now on

Sandris is awesome and one of my favorites to watch. Now he knows what it’s like to go against a top-five opponent. Now he can train for it. He’s not even 30 yet lol. The future is huge for the kid. I would love to see him and Corey West next.

I used to climb cell towers everyday, did it for about 12 years and would pull and lift heavy equipment throughout my shift, and would sometimes hit the gym afterwards. Construction workers use a sledgehammer everyday, lineman pull cable everyday... I believe arm wrestlers can train everyday just not lift super heavy (PR) style everyday.
What if you dont want to do table training and just want wrist strength and endurance? How often can you train your wrist muscles at the gym per week? Anyone knows?
so one specific question, if we pull once a week , should we also have a separate max day with the weights? because when we pull we do max effort almost always
Simply put, training with weights should always be supplemental to your style. Whatever gets trained a lot with table time, should have some pump work later in the week. I do a lot of lowhand so I don't really train biceps for strength that much, I just do 2 sets of 30 reps with light weight to pump my biceps for solid recovery. I train my triceps for strenght since I don't use them much in practice but need to improve my press when and if I need to transition to finish. I do sets of 6-8 reps for triceps.
It really sucks that people who I really respected in the Arm Wrestling community would outright lie and deceive the fans in this way. I am a huge fan of Devon and watch almost every episode of the fix with Neil. But if these matches happened weeks ago then everyone involved should be blacklisted from arm wrestling events for a long while. It is the way it was promoted with outright lies and deception. I still have hope that it happened more recently. The first person who comes forward and tells the truth will come out looking the best.
Its not on the athletes, they sign contracts that im sure include nda clauses to not disclose the info so they can't say anything. Its on the promoters. And they have instead doubled down on the lies and called people "conspiracy theorists" instead of having integrity and being honest. Want to make your voice heard? Don't train arm wrestling everyday unless you want to damage your arms , arm wrestling is fun but its a shitty sport because of the injuries not to mention your strength workouts are also affected and your left with shitty pains in your arms / only way to do it probably is if you train only armwrestling with light weight and one table practice a week maybe then even so you can still damage your tendons if you arm wrestle someone stronger
