I go to the barbershop and he is like master . I feel he uses the sharpness of the blade to do the job very little pressure and he never cuts my skin , it is a talent that some people do have more than the others.
Great video. One thing I have learned In the last week of shaving with this product (just got it last Thursday) is I’m slooooow. My beard isn’t all that thick and my skin is 50 years old. One good trick I learned is heat one side of your face and shave it then heat the other side of your face and shave it. I’m sure I’ll get faster but for now I’m taking my time and by the time I get to the other side the skin is cold. Cold vs hot skin is a game changer you don’t want. This along with this dudes videos make my beard look pretty sharp. Thanks for the great videos.
I got me a couple of nice straight razors, some pre shave oils, some shave creams, some shave soaps and some aftershave products and tried using a straight razor for the first time today and I definitely realized that there is a very clear learning curve to be tackled with this type of shaving. The process of how straight razor shaving is successfully accomplished seems very straightforward and like a very simple, common sense process to me... but even so, it is not something that I think most people will get right on the 1st, 2nd or even 3rd try and I definitely did quite a poor job on this, my first try. I can see that getting to a point where you can perform the entire process correctly, that being the angle, the grip, the amount of pressure and all the other more subtle nuisances and doing them comfortably and confidently will take a little practice... at least I didn't cut myself... this time 😶🌫️
this is something that Elliot Forbes didn't tell me about... the balloon technique. I've bought the razor for a long time, cut myself a few times, went back to cartridges. Now I'm gonna go back. Thanks bro~
Yo bhai, I bought a razon online with a nice wooden handel. I watched your video, and before I watched it I tried creaming my face and use it to shave, but not a single hair got cut... I tried the ballon thing and it was fine nothing happened to it, but on my arm I tried it a second time and still it didn't cut my hair. I am afraid the razon needs to be sharpen... I have a stone for that with a fine and rough side, but do I need one of those leather belt to sharpen it?
Great video. I’m a little nervous never used a straight I shave off my facial hair. I need to watch this a few times before I shave with the straight razor.
I barely started with the safety razor. Same angle, and skin tug. Obviously different grip. Cut myself something fierce multiple times on the second time i used it, and almost threw in the towel. I hope to get to a straight edge one day, but i wanna master the SR first. Good video tips, only hot water dries the skin and robs our natural skin oils, warm water seems better for me.
Another great tutorial like the earlier video 'How To Shave Your Face With A Straight Razor In Detail' about things you need to know that others don't talk about when using a straight razor
I have some questions??? Pls answer me I use shavette straight razor, and I always maintain my extended goatee. But I have seen many times that many people who prefer clean shave, they shave for 2 times like first they shave and wash their face and again shave their beard even though they have already become cleanly shaven after the first shave...is it necessary to shave for two times or one-time shaving is enough for a clean shave? another question is I use to shave 2 days a week to maintain my goatee, but I have seen that my razor blade does not cut properly when I use that blade after 2 days using even though I take proper care of the razor blade....does the razor blade become blunt after using 2 days of shaving or I can use it more than 2 days? because I have read on the internet that a razor blade can give you at least 5 to 7 shaves.
Sure. So some people shave twice once going with the grain. The other against the grain. That’s the reasons for the 2 shaves. As for using the blade 2 times that fine. If you where shaving someone you would have to change it. But your shaving yourself. As long as the blade is not pulling your good to go.
I just bought a shaver like this because i want smoot shave disnt trully tried it yet only trying on arms to see how it feels and boy im scared to try especially on neck part but will see how it is
What about the rough areas like the adams apple and also how to do the chin because it seems like that would be really hard to keep a 30 degree angle. Also does your shop deliver to non us countries because I live in Belgium.
Wow very educational. I'm just learning to use one. I wish I could see a little clearer on how u hold the straight razor please. I know u said preference, I like to start with your way first. Also do u switch hands when shaving ?
This video came about 10 years too late for me. I'm a boss with the straight razor now but when I started, man listen. I used to look like I had a mob of cats that really didn't like my face and they just used to F me up for fun. I had to learn all of this the hard way. Trial and error. Real talk!
i personally think straight razor is not a good option when using on oneself becoz of risks involved ,i did buy 15 years ago and tried my underarms and pubs after i felt i cant use on face and i feel it is best in barbers hand secondly it is best and nothing beats due to it but u cannot use on underarms and pubs and i think t shaped r good but their design prevents to cut easily maybe they have shield in front of them unlike straight razor .if this t shaped r made with a design of straight razor to place half blades like its done in straight razor then it will be very best .i hope u understood my point.
Id rather do it on my own leg cuz the balloon thing didn’t work for me. I cut myself a good 5 times yesterday but it makes you weary of how to hold it correctly and the amount of pressure that’s being applied
The blade will also stutter if it’s not at optimal sharpness. Proraso shaving soap, a badger brush and a good Dovo Solingen razor will have you set for life. No plastic, no turbo, no nonsense, easier on your wallet and less landfill.
I think they mean don't make slicing motions with the blade. This is true for any razor. I've used regular razors and cut myself because I went sideways and sliced.
I wouldn’t say that. You apply shave gel in the area in need of the shave. Wipe you hand with a towel. Stretch the skin on the non facial hair area. Thanks for watching
damn people really think these are dangerous? i just bought my first straight razor put a blade in and raw dogged the shave and it was the closest shave i have ever gotten, no cuts
It is tho, need to know how to use it. My first time (without knowing anything), I cut myself nearly 6 times. It wasn't even on facial hair or smth, leg hair. That happened in just a quarter of my thigh.

You gotta remember barbers do this as a job. Doing it so many times to other people (and probably themselves) they would have to be a master at it.

What about beard balm before using the razor?
Can u go over your products u sell and whats it meant for ? Do u have anything for sensitive skin, razor burns and bumps ?
All Info is on our site thanks
When you stretch the skin, the hair stands up, do you shave against the hair with razor going in the direction of your thumb?
What about the rough areas like the adams apple and also how to do the chin because it seems like that would be really hard to keep a 30 degree angle.

Check out OUTDOORS55. It's more about knives but the principles are the same.
How many times did he used the word « shave » ?
Wow! Really a lot involved. Do you have a video on using a strop? Is that the correct word?
Good demonstration on how to use a straight razor.💯👍💯 Would you recommend a steamer over a hot towl, when it come s to shaving with the razor?

Never go sideways, just straight up and down only
What about shaving soap?
Sometimes you have to go sideways if you want a clean shave. it all depends on the way the hair is growing
