I've been using safety razor my whole life. Now like to get into straight razors. I'd buy a straight razor not to long ago. After watching your video I feel more confident. I was so afraid to chop off my neck. Thank you so much.

Been looking at various videos but this is by far the best. I've been trying to use both hands (lefty, but use right a lot in general) but after seeing your technique, will stick to one handed method. So informative but not overloaded with info, well done and great work👍🏻

I feel like I'm going to school..as I am only a few shaves in with this kind of razor.. I've used the IBC razor,a ring type shavette,and I'm using one like he's using tonight for the first time..

I did ok but the initial start I had to have skipped over my skin and caused very visible but superficial marks from the blade skipping on my ride cheek by the sideburn area... other than that I did ok . I'm not doing a full shave with this type of razor, but finish it with a safety razor..
@@rauldelarosa2768 It's good to keep a DE razor handy. Gives confidence. And you'll get much better with more shaves. The razor might be skipping on the skin due to longer strokes. I had to remind myself to keep the strokes extremely short and light. Kind of feels strange esp. after years of operating the DE razor on autopilot.
decided to start using a straight razor. some ready later and i figured i was good. lots of nicks, but nothing noticible wants they stopped bleeding. but this video was very helpful, gonna try again here soon, see if these tips and tricks helps. post a respince here soon afterwards edit/update worker really well. after doing it, i knicked myself two times after dowing the whole face, lip and right next to the chin, and i already know how they happened. bad angle. lip was cuz my nose, and next to the chin was just a weird motion and because i hit my thumb cuz it was just a little to close. but unoticible, and the cleanest shave i’ve ever had. definitely gonna keep with it and get better with it. very good video to know how to shave your face

I was using a Mach 3 for shaping up and while it came out good I felt it could be better ( more professional like ) so I started looking in to Straight razors & Straight razor shavettes! Funny you mention that, cos I was thinking the same thing. I’m learned ambidextrous (almost cut off my left index finger as a kid-surgery, yadda yadda yadda), and I’ve always used both hands to shave. Not exactly, but kinda doing once with the left, and then another with the right. But with a lot of things, seeing someone do things lefty makes me happy, bc I’m not having to reinvent and invert a process.
You do an amazing job in your videos . This is the third video of yours I have watched. The first was to show me how to edge a beard. Once the razor came I sought you out to teach me to load it and then I found out I wasn’t able to hold it and see what I was doing. I got surprisingly little irritation. Just one tiny bleeder, that is all. My first straight razor shave ever. My mistake was I always tried to hold it the way I was suppose to. That is not always possible.
Really surprised how little shaving cream you use. I understand it can be done with the pores are properly opened and the follicles are stimulated (softening the beard) but damn. I like to have a healthy lather if cream to really stand ‘em up and it makes for a smoother glide. I’ve never liked it when I go to a barber and he puts some butter type product with no cream and then it’s “scrunch…scrunch…scrunch”. This is just me though.

guys online say you need a brush and lather to lift the hair. ez blade content doesn't show this step. I don't know who to believe! Anyone have any insights here?
All depends what type of shaving cream you use. If you are using a shave soap you will need a brush lift the hair. We carry shave soap and badger brushes. This particular cream we are using in the video is a a brushless shave cream you can do it by hand. Thanks for watching!

OK I don't see you shaving UP on your face, with a regular razor I would be able to feel my beard running my hand up when I was done not feeling like a SMOOTH SHAVE! Is it different with the Straight Razor or can I SHAVE up if I want to🤔

I have my own hair salon; it sits right above a meat pie restaurant. The problem is, I keep "nicking" my client's throats and then they never come back. I'm pretty proficient with my straight razors but it just seems like the richer or fatter my clients the more "nicks" they experience. Then they just disappear.

That’s not a straight razor !!! Coming from a proper straight razor user and the occasional feather artist club razor ( shavette) what he is using is a shavette ….they behave completely different to a real straight razor …

What is the name of that spray u use for your blade before shaving and why ?
I just use water and soap for shaving my beard. Although I don't get cuts, I wonder how great it would be to experience using those creams and oils.

That's not a straight razor, that's a shavette. On a straight razor, you need to sharpen the blade yourself.
