I love Paint With Diamonds. I've never had an issue with bubbling (rivers), wrinkles, or creasing in the canvas adhesive. I've ordered 10 canvases (ranging from 30x40 to 90x120) from them and it's never happened to me yet 🤞🏻 I've finished 8 of them over 1.5 years and all the gems have stuck perfectly. If you have rivers or bubbling you can just cut the river with an exacto knife very lightly to let the air out.
Hello Rachel, I was wondering if you would be able to film your face to put in the corner when doing this set up so I could lipread ? And / or if you could enable community captions so I could read along to your voice ? ✨♥️
Explains the two small ones I ordered from Etsy on July 3rd and received August 29th. Covered in paper and the adhesive was stronger than what I've worked with so far. Thankfully they're small,I haven't seen too much as far as rivers or the tape edges. They are being flattened right now. Double check when I take them out from under the book. I might do them before the next one planned though. It's been pretty muggy lately.
I am so sorry, Emma. I thought I had them automatically turned on, but it seems like mobile uploads do no automatically have them go up. I will be more diligent in the future!
What Kathy has said is true, but community captions were not turned on so people could not offer changes to the automatic CC if it misunderstood something I said.
Thanks for the very informative video. I had wondered what adhesive vs poured looks like as I wasn't sure what my cheap Amazon ones are. As they are all wrinkle/bubble free and come covered with the clear crinkly plastic I am happy that they are a poured glue. So far I have only finished 1.5 of them and am very happy with the stickiness and overall quality. I am more a process vs product crafter though. I also bought an Artdot painting and am curious to see how different that one will be to work on (the canvas feels very good).
I am new and have had pretty decent experiences so far. However, I got my first double sided tape canvas and cannot stand it. I enjoy being able to see the picture and place drills close to the section I am working on. Replaced with parchment paper. Also, the glue is very unforgiving. If the drills do not place perfectly, there is no wiggle room at all, so I have to dig them out with tweezers. This really slows me down. I have tried wetting the glue with a sponge or spray, and it helps slightly by reducing the sticky a little bit. Poured glue rocks! Even when thin, it is easy to add glue to each drill or pour more glue product to a thin section.
Your videos have been so helpful! My first two were super cheap from Amazon. They were in a weird black plastic bag like a trash bag. They were very wrinkled and crunched up, but it was good practice for my first try. I now have two good ones coming from Diamond Art Club, I can’t wait
At 8:22 you mentioned the video of applying sheet on poured glue canvas. I saw that video but wondered and worried if it affects the glue? And, thank you for this video. I really appreciate the time you took to explain us.
Thank you for this video. It was very informative. I learn so much from you & appreciate you explaining the different types of adhesives used on canvases.
On the double sided adhesive canvases you mentioned that the humidity causes rivers. Will they continue to form after they are completed? I’ve only been doing this hobby for a few months. I started by buying smaller cheaper paintings to see if I liked diamond painting. Of course I do already have a small stash of DAC. Thanks for all that I have learned from watching your videos.
Can. I use modge podge. Extreme. On. Top. Of. My. Drills my. Drills. Are. A.lways popping. And. I. Dont. Know. Where. They. Popped they. Do. It as. I'm. Placing. Them. Down. When I. Have. An. Area. With. No sticky. Can. I. Put. The modge podge there
Can you consider maybe a destash group for the trash painting from fuwan it's so beautiful it's a bummer it has those rivers and bubbles not sure if there is another more environmentaly safe thing to do then throw it away
What plastic can you use. I would like to use clear plastic to replace the paper backed covering. What plastic did you use on the one of the woman you showed first? Xxx
Love your show. Do u eventually do all of your paintings that u have?what is the best way to store them, when they are done or not. Sandy 🐻 Lewiston Idaho
Hi Rachel 🙂. I was wondering if you could paste a link of the diymoon shop video of the pouring of the glue... I looked all through their videos and can’t seem to find it... only if it is not to bothersome or time consuming for you though... if you know off hand where to find it I would appreciate it 😊. Thank you for the great vids 😘
I am working on one that says twin glue is that the same as double sided please. It seems ok just a few rivers but easy to deal with. Love your videos.
One thing I’ve tried, which isn’t the easiest to do, is that I’ve totally removed the double sided adhesive and replaced it. I didn’t have a solid roll of adhesive when I did it, I purchased 8x11 sheets, and applied them to the canvas. I have not drilled it yet, but have kept it flat in storage and I look at it from time to time, and it seems to be staying in fine shape. I don’t plan on ever buying double sided adhesive canvases again. Like so many, I bought some through various stores on Ali Express (I bought 7) and they are all in storage, I haven’t done any of them yet. I might would make an exception with Ever Moment, but I’ll have to do my one in stock first, before I know for sure. I enjoy DAC so much, I probably won’t deviate from them to much. I had no idea, that heat and humidity effected the final storage outcome of double sided adhesive canvases. I think my issues were my fault though, from just simply not knowing the true story of such canvases, and how to deal with them, when I started diamond painting a little over a year ago.
Trying to find out how many drills in one of those bags with kits. Say 310. Full. How many approximately. Needing to purchase some and have no idea how many I need. Thx.
Twoski69 310 is the colour/DMC number and is black. The smaller bags of drills usually is about 200 drills/diamonds. The larger bags are usually 1000drills. Hope this helps!
I don't have a link to that video, it was in an unboxing of theirs from around Christmas last year. If you message them, I'm sure they'd be glad to share. I think it's on their IG from that time as well
Hi Rachel. When you showed the rivers on a double sided adhesive canvas I was reminded of a video by Dazzle Driller titled How I Fixed a Crappy Canvas. She removed the tape and then sprayed the canvas with Krylon Easy-Tack. I wonder if it's a method you'd like to try. It seems to me that it would be easier and cheaper than using more double sided adhesive.
A big tell for me is that no artist is credited. If the artwork is licensed than more than likely, the artist is credited. And diamond painting companies who sell licensed artwork still credit the artist even if the artwork is in the public domain. For example, diamond art club still credits Van Gogh. Also another tell, I learned from a Jeremiah Morelli post on this topic, is the title is very descriptive. Say, for example, if the picture is of a black cat and the title is black cat. That is not the correct title. Apparently, these companies do this so the artist can not easily search and find their artwork.
I always enjoy your videos but just lately you really do get very picky with companies which are not diamond art club, don't get me wrong diamond art club are lovely but so expensive and can be totally out of people's budgets, my argument with diamond art club is there shipping it's a total rip off, and as for saying you refuse to use ali express because of liscensing just don't buy a painting that you know is liscenced you don't have to totally put down every company for that reason, I've shopped on ali express many times and have brought some absolutely fantastic paintings for example ever moment, tinmi arts and shook many more ,I find tinmi is just as good as diamond art club and a damn sight cheaper and I've never had issues with them, my husband was in the room with me while I was watching one of your haul videos the last one you did I think not the diamond art club and even he said he thought you sounded extremely snobby and said he thinks you picked the worst paintings so that you could put that company down, just try thinking about people's feelings and budgets plus the companies you are slamming and shaming and maybe watch other youtubers who are reviewing that same company you have just insulted, I don't mean to be rude to you and I love watching your videos but I just found certain videos hard to watch
I agree with Rachel totally i have bought from the cheaper company's and I want quality i want these painting to last. I only buy from licensed companies to. The artist deserves to get paid for them. And not to be stolen from. I feel you were rough on Rachel shes only trying to keep people from being unhappy so she gives her honest opinion. I want to associated with honest people. There's plenty of diamond painting you tubers out there that aren't as truthful i wont watch them they change there opinions depending on who's sending them free stuff . My rant is over
Michelle, I understand the budget issue and I am not telling you where to buy or what to buy. I always say, from my experience, from my opinion before giving my thoughts. You are free to disagree and have a completely different attitude but the fact is that I cannot and will not be sharing sites that sell diamond paintings that steal art and sell for profit. I'm aware that it's a moral issue and not everyone will listen to me. What is important is that there is an artist that isn't getting paid for these companies ripping their image from Google, pinterest, or Instagram and profiting. 🤷♀️ I'm not saying that by buying these that a person is bad or wrong, but my opinion is that I'm here to educate, and if I do it, it will encourage more people to do it, and I'm not okay with that. So what you will see is more from companies that *do* pay artists, because that is what I stand for and want to see in this community. I'm not in the business of caring about what people think about me, and not interested in the drama of that either. I'm not like other people in that way. I like to think that I am a level headed and relatively kind person. I won't "slam" anyone. Again, shop within your means. But also know that my mission is to bring justice for artists. They deserve it. Thank you for listening.
Rachel, I appreciate your stance on this issue. Legally and morally artists should not be the only one who does not benefit from their artwork being a diamond painting. They are also the only one who has the right to decide who can turn their artwork into a diamond painting. Being on budget is not a valid justification to purchase stolen merchandise. I am quite sure most of these artists are on a budget too and would appreciate getting paid for their work.
@@kris7865 I never said to buy the ripped off artist as I agree that people shouldn't buy them, what I meant was that the company shouldn't be shunned and bad mouthed because of them doing that, just don't buy an artist's work that's what I do, I wouldn't dream of buying a canvas that was ripped off but I would still use the company because as I said before not everyone can afford diamond art club, my favorite is tinmi arts I don't know if they do other artists work but I wouldn't let it stop me buying them if they did

I meant to rip off the old, rivered adhesive and apply a fresh sheet. Not put a new one on top of the old one. :)

i use tombow its a blue tube from amazon and i also wacky tack or the thin double sided tape

How do you know which it is before you buy it, looking on Amazon, they dont show either clear of the white paper on it

Same. Lol. Only competed 2 mini partials and still working on a full size drill. The collection just kept growing faster than I was placing drills.
It is possible and has happened to me, but I do live in an abnormally wet place :P
Can a needlepoint pattern be used to make a diamond painting? If so, what glue should I paint on the canvas??

Oh love the image at 10:50. Would love to get that one I love succulents
What brand or kind of poured glue that sticks very well for drills on? Tombow? Diamonddotz poured glue? Please help for my custom DP

How do you know if it is poured glue or double sided tape?
Can you please do a video of your current work in progress and how you store the canvas and drills for them please
Hi! I love your vids, and I also diamond paint 🥺❤️✨
If you cant get the wrinkles out do you send them back?
